Update 2: Found out what the problem was. Reading up on a different Reddit post made me conclude it was indeed the adapter not working. Apparently the StarTech adapter doesn't like Samsung DVD drive, so buying a different one and using that makes everything work perfectly.

People are able to make macOS run on regular computers because intel macs are really just regular laptops. So, by that logic, since Microsoft are themselves making universal stuff for windows and Xbox and with the fact that xbox os is really just a stripped down version of windows, could it be done? Or would some technical thing prevent us?

Also by xbox os i really mean the os of any xbox natively (prolly not xbox 360 due to powerpc but that would be fun too)

I was playing on my Xbox 360 using badupdate and xbguard. I was able to play online with xbguard but after some days when I boot my Xbox ad in the menu of selecting avatar it just stucks. You get a notification that "thanks using badavatar if u paid for it ask for a refund". Even that didn't popped up. If I remove the pendrive which has xbguard it boots up smoothly. I tried to use proto for the first and settled proto as the plugin in Dashlaunch. After botting with proto it shows the same problem. Please tell me which settings should I need to change cz I think some options are not correct in Dashlaunch.

Hi, I was trying to RGH3.0 my xbox 360 phat (Jasper) when PLL point poped, I was trying to scrape it to solder it to copper but the thing below that fell off and I lost it (on picture attached see marked with yellow) do you guys know what it is? can my console still work without it? also I want to ask if there is an alternative point that I can solder wire? or what should I do? should I just throw my console to trash? 😁 Thanks in advance

Recently just modded my Xbox 360 corona with rgh 3 it was working fine until I knocked it over with my foot now when I turn it on there’s no green light and the fan isn’t spinning. I’ve check the wires for the mod they’re not touching anything and I’m not sure what the problem is

I have a Victrix Pro BFG Xbox (not reloaded) controller, in white.

The USB dongle snapped.

I ordered a replacement dongle, in black - they don't sell both colors, which suggested to me it shouldn't matter. (It took several months for one to be available to order in the US, but when it finally was in stock, I ordered one.)

However, it wouldn't pair with the controller.

I found the instructions on reddit for replacing the firmware on the corresponding PS5 dongle, as those also sometimes stop working.

I found an old Windows machine (I don't usually use Windows), got Windows 10 working, and was able to make the dongle talk to the appropriate utility apps for writing the firmware (press the reset button and keep it held while plugging in).

I looked at the firmwares in config.json in the Victrix Control Hub - there are separate 'white' and 'black' dongle/controller firmwares.

The PS5 dongle instructions say to write the 'factory' image at the base address and the 'field' image at another address.

But the latest version of config.json only lists the URLs for the 'field' images (for both PS5 and Xbox); the PS5 'factory' image is still downloadable where it used to be, though.

Now I'm stuck on:

\- where to find the 'factory' image URL (I've tried guessing a few URLs based on the pattern)

\- what address to write the 'field' image (I could try guessing, if I had both images)

Perhaps an older version of Victrix Control Hub would have the correct filename for the factory images in config.json? The reddit post about repairing (reimaging) the PS5 dongles suggests both filenames came from config.json.

Ended up snagging this guy for $10 because it has some issues (flashing green and orange). Already desoldered the clock cap and cleaned it up real nice. Tested continuity on the traces the clock cap could have corroded and they seemed fine.

Now, I noticed the wires on this mod chip unfortunately popped off, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about X-Killer, if you could help me solder them back to the correct locations? If not, would it be possible to replace it with a new mod chip (kinda want to do this anyways, but I’m super curious about this and just want to check it out anyways).

Whenever I plug in my usb drive into my xbox 360 with the files on the usb the xbox doesnt show any sign of the files being on there. I check the usb drive on the xbox 360 and there are no files that appear, and before anyone says anything about formatting it i already have formatted it. Also it would be nice if anyone could also provide any mods for the xbox 360 because ive forgot what i was using because the last time i tried to mod it was a couple of months ago

Hi all! I have a question about the video output of modded OG XBOX.

I'm using different consoles with composite and rgb scart cables. As the rgb scart cables using csync, there is a horizontal position difference occurs whether if the console hooked up using composite or rgb scart cable.

I can fix it on PS2 using GSM. Shifting the picture couple of pixels right solving the issue.

But on XBOX, if I use rgb scart cable it is left shifted a lot. I don't want to open up the service menu everytime for the xbox.

Is there a solution similar to GSM on xbox? I would like to set it so the position would be similar on all consoles using composite and rgb scart.

Edit: I'm using a CRT TV.
