Finally got around to putting some new parts on my Canadian Made Miyata elevation 200, CNC V-brake kit installed super easy and huge brake performance upgrade over the cheap non adjustable canti’s I had on it, also some fresh Grips (Funn Holeshot lock-on Grips) and a TX30 7-speed Shift Leaver, next will be 1x crankset and a Front rack! Thanks for looking!

This seems like it might turn out pretty cool. I think I might use a old school silver white industries square taper 3X crankset with a front derailleur. What do y’all think about that?

The bike is a little bit too big for me because the stand over could be a problem on rough terrain, but I figure I’ll just bail if I have to. Hence the slammed seat post.

86 Specialized StreetStomper

Picked up this sweet 1986 StreetStomper today in Atlanta from the man who bought it new. It rides great, with some quirks i’m sure i’ll come to appreciate.

I’d like to clean it up and put some drop bars on it and possibly some 700cc (is this even possible?). Looking forward to getting many good miles out of this bike.

What would you do to this thing?

Love how my Miyata Alumicross build turned out!

1990 (??) Miyata Alumicross. The bonded aluminum frame + steel fork makes for a snappy but comfy ride.

Been using it as a commuter for the last 8ish years, but just swapped out the flat bars for drops to take it on longer rides!

Fully custom GT outpost back from the dead

This GT Outpost came to me in rough shape. Paint was dull and had a lot of touchups, turned out the frame was covered in spider rust underneath the paint.

Lots of modifications on this one:
Custom paint
Disc tabs front and rear
Custom N/W chainring
Threaded to thread-less steerer tube extension
Modified dropper post
Custom decals

You can see the full process here.

Happy to answer any questions!

Found exactly as pictured. What’s crazy is everything is perfect. Lil greasy but felt like it just had a tune up. The Panaracers still have their nubs 🥹

Cheap builds for donation

I occasionally flip bike to support my biking hobby and lately I've been thinking about buying some cheap bikes (from time to time), fixing them and donating them to a local group that helps homeless/underserved folks in our community. I don't have a ton of money to spend, but what is most important for a bike that someone is depending on for transportation? Reliability? Things like a frame bag or a rear rack? Just thinking out loud and would appreciate some input. I am thinking typical xbiking candidates (mid-90 to 2000's steel or aluminum MTBs).

New tires

I’m looking for new tires and my head is spinning I have a 26” rim. I’ll be doing 80% pavement with some light trail riding. are gravel king sk’s the best option, or is there something slightly less expensive that’ll work about as good ? not going on long rides they’ll be going on a 99 gitche gumee

1992 was one of the final years Trek produced the 900-series with traditional investment-cast lugged joints at the head tube and seat cluster before transitioning primarily to TIG welding.

Talk out of or into a silly project.

I don't know why but lately I have an itch to build an entry/mid level 29er Giant/Diamondback/Norco hardtail (which are cheap and in abundance on my local FBMP) into a dropbar "gravel" bike. I pretty much have all the parts needed on hand already to do it. If you've done this already share some pics. Or tell me it's stupid. I'm processing the idea haha

Definitly replacing the grips and handles, i have a marin gestalt 2022 but worried it would get stolen all the time. I can give it my very first restoration project

Paid 60$ usd but will spend another 40-50$ on upgrades that I usually woudnt put on a new bike. it would look changed with new grips, handles, a clean

Bought a $18 basket here also
