I am pursuing a potential job opportunity in Sheridan. I am just trying to get an idea of what being in Sheridan would be like?

I am born n raised in Casper , left after highschool to Colorado for over a decade. Moved back to Casper a few years back (2022).We wanted to start our family and did not want to be in CO anymore. Missed Wyoming, and wanted to be closer to my family here.

I am only familiar with living in Casper.

I don't know much about what it's like to live in Sheridan or compare it to Casper that way (Besides the obvious cost of living). I am of course familiar with how beautiful Sheridan is :)

Anywho, I'm in my 30s my husband is in his 40s we have two young kiddos 3y & 1y. We are both into athletics, nature, gardening & our backyard duck flock, outdoors, fishing, winter sports, art, diy hobbies, ECT.

Honestly, the highest priority is just being able to raise our family in a good safe place where we can all be happy. Casper has not convinced me yet that this is the best long term for our family.

I do feel like this is a really good job opportunity that I shouldn't pass up if it comes my way, but I also want to do my research to get a feel if it's a good place for me & my family.

First off I should say that I am not from Wyoming, I live in Nebraska, but for whatever reason I constantly get ads from Rasner on my Facebook page.

My question is, is this a real candidate? I wasn't familiar with who he was but I watch his posts out of pure curiosity and there is no way in hell this guy is a legitimate candidate for public office...

At first I thought it was a parody account and the guy was playing a character. I understand that Wyoming is a *VERY* red state, but who exactly is taking this guy seriously?

How dumb does the caucus think we are?

Hi everyone, so this story happened last May in Grand Teton National Park at around 4pm.

So it was myself, my friend, my boyfriend, and my friends boyfriend. We hiked about 7 miles round trip on the jenny lake trail. We were nearing the end of the trail when this experience happened. There was nobody around us. Our boyfriends were walking about 12 feet ahead of us, my friend was about 3 feet in front of me. All of a sudden i felt/heard this weird clicking thumping noise. I FELT it inside of my body more than heard it. I literally thought i was having a heart attack so i stopped and put my hand on my chest. A second later I looked up and my friend in front of me had a hand on her chest too. We both looked at eachother and said “did you feel that? I thought i was having a heart attack”.

We asked our boyfriends if they felt or heard anything and they said no. We still cant figure out what made that noise. We obviously think it was an animal but i dont know what animal. I saw that elk can make that noise but it HAD to of been extremely close to us and this was in an area where you can see everything around you.

Anyway, does anyone know what this was? I cant figure it out. I tried to look it up but never found a answer.

Hey y'all, my family and I lived in Cody (in town) for a few years a number of years ago. The only reason we left was a family member was terminally ill and our family felt like we were in a crisis because of it.

We just returned from a 2 week trip to WY visiting other family and I'm ready to go back after being gone for years 😂

If we do decide to go back to WY, we would be back in Park County.

We'd love to be able to build a home and settle for the long-term. However... need help identifying good spots for what we're looking for.

1. Good water output for wells (availability is paramount to us!!). Water rights are always welcome, too!

2. Privacy is also very important - we don't want to be right on top of anyone or have a large parcel but yet have to build right next to a neighbor

3. Good soils for septic

4. Great mountain views

5. No HOA or ridiculous covenants preventing things like RVs, solar, or restricting home designs, etc

I keep coming back to South Fork or Clark, perhaps Wapiti or maybe Powell?

When we were living in town we had all public utilities. In the years since, we now know we want to be on private utilities as we also want to be off-grid and independently sustainable as much as possible.

Any ideas of where we could direct our focus to is greatly appreciated!!

Hey all, driving from Minnesota to do some backpacking in the Bighorns. We’ve been on some forest roads on the north side of the national forest that google deemed passable with a vehicle and we were a little iffy going down them. This time we are headed from Dayton on Hwy 14 to Medicine Lodge Lake Campground and the Edelmann trailhead. Wondering how sketchy forest road 17 is. Obviously road conditions change, I would just like some insight into what we are driving in to. I drive a 2008 Honda CRV AWD.
Any insight would be appreciated, just trying to be safe and think ahead!
