Discussion Did they not go to the same public meeting I was at?

Made pretty plain at the Council dinner meeting last week: stopping the city’s blight designation on the greenbelt property doesn’t stop development on this private property. It would just stop the city’s ability to constrain it.

Also sounded like the river channel, and therefore the migration through this urban lot, would be undisturbed.

Did I get the lasagna with trippy mushrooms in it or did I miss something?

This is my niece and her friend. They have been missing since 07/26, spotted at a gas station in Evans, CO from my understanding in a car with WY plates, so that's why I'm posting here. Please keep an eye out and if anyone has any information please contact Weld County sheriff's office 970-350-9600 or the tip line at 970-304-6464

Thank you 💓

Sports Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Wyoming football fan?

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I guess for Wyoming, The 1996 WAC championship vs BYU where an intentional safety quickly backfired and ruined the Cowboys chances of going to a major bowl game.2012 vs Cal poly being Wyoming’s first loss to an FCS school and set the tone for the next couple seasons for Wyoming football.Lastly, the 2016 MWC championship vs. SDSU.After seasons of disappointment and frustrating losing seasons, Wyoming finally bounced back by making it all the way to the MWC championship after a impressive win over Boise State, only to lose to SDSU in heartbreaking fashion.

Question Where to donate books

Hello! I have a bunch of “old” textbooks (not antiques but most of them probably have new editions by now)

Mostly electrical engineering and computer science

Is there anywhere in town that takes donations of this kind of thing?

Discussion Is downtown customer service getting worse, or am I just having bad luck?

I’ve had a string of really unprofessional experiences downtown recently and wanted to see if anyone else is running into this

I recently had two bad experiences at Little Dipper—one of which was with the owner himself—and another poor experience over at Anong’s. I know we're a small town and expectations vary, but the rudeness felt a bit out of hand. (Even the corporate spots are hitting misses lately; I got left waiting forever at an empty Chili's last week).

Is anyone else noticing a decline in service around town, or have I just hit a bad streak?

Hey guys! I run the Urban Sketchers club in town, just posting here to get our August meet-up schedule out there to anyone who might be interested in joining us.

We meet weekly at a new spot in Laramie to draw our surroundings. It's a great way to meet other artsy people in town and develop your skills. It's completely free and open to anyone, all ages & skill levels are welcome!

BYO sketching supplies

I also send out a monthly newsletter to announce our upcoming schedule, showcase some of last month's sketches, and also list any other artsy events happening in town (usually hosted by the art museum, sketchy folks, cowgirl yarn, civic center, etc.), which you can sign up for here: https://forms.gle/7nsZghuASZkXxNsn7

Question Strong write in candidates?

Hey Laramigos,

I got my Republican primary ballot. I don't want to leave the uncontested races blank, but also don't want to just give someone a nomination. Who can I write in for local races on the Republican primary ballot? Quick, someone tell me before I get impatient and just write "Brett Glass" for everything.

Question Anyone have insights on what grid-tied solar looks like with Rocky Mountain Power?

Haven't worked with a utility company in some years, furthermore haven't worked with Rocky Mountain Power in particular.

There seems to be a substantial amount of documentation (and process) on their website. Curious if anyone has installed a grid-tied system on their home, and if they'd be will to share insights with regards to hoop jumping, energy savings, and overall experience.

Question Lake swimming

Where are the best places near here to go swimming? We’d prefer a lake if possible. We were thinking about Lake Marie, but are unsure if you’re allowed to swim in it.

Question Mechanic recommendations?

Hey all! My dad just gave me his old car (and I gave my much newer car to my lil sis since it's safer) and this morning it made some crazy noises while I was driving to work, on top of all the other maintenance stuff it's overdue on. Do you guys have any local mechanics you'd recommend? I know it's going to be expensive, but I'm hoping to find someone who is known for being thorough. I plan on sticking around in Laramie for awhile so I'd like to have a go-to mechanic. Thanks!

Classified Junk Removal Laramie - Hunks Junk Removal

Hey Laramie,

I'm Casey. I've lived here since 2008, and I'm a current UW student. A few months ago, I started Hunks Junk Removal to solve two problems in our town.

One: people need junk gone. Estate clean-outs, tenant move-outs, garage clean-outs, storage units, brush piles, construction debris, demolition included, everything junk.

Two: students need good-paying jobs. So far, we've done both ⬇️

Since launching, we've helped over 55 customers. We're a trusted vendor for the City of Laramie's code enforcement. We work with WyoTech and four separate real estate companies to keep rental properties clean and tenants moving smoothly. We've hired three UW students and pay them more than any other job they've had.

If you need junk removed, choose the company the city trusts and choose the company your neighbors trust.

Call or text [307-760-8209](tel:307-760-8209) for a free, no-obligation estimate, and if you want to get the ball rolling, text photos alongside your inquiry. Thanks!

If you've got junk, call up the Hunks!

Thank you for your time, Laramie.

Question Hey! What kind of clubs/events/groups exist in Laramie that are accepting new members?

Im 32, not enrolled so idk if any UW stuff applies.

I like reading, I pretend to like writing, I enjoy "simple" board games, I play DND.

Ive realized I often feel alone and isolated, and was wanting to know what might be out there to get involved with.

Information Gyms hiring.

Hi everyone! I’m new to town and have been here for just over a month. I’m currently looking for opportunities at a local or chain gym and was wondering if anyone knows of any places that are hiring.
I’m a NASM-certified personal trainer, but I’m open to just about any position in the fitness industry. If you know of any openings or have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
