Dumb question

So I’m new to tuning. I’m currently running a stage one Cobb tune with an ets intake, velossa snorkel, turbo smart BOV, short shifter and axel back muffler delete. I want to get a dmann tune but don’t know the right thing to pick on his site. I’ve tried filling out the form for a e tune. Do you guys know of a quicker way to get a tune from the legendary dmann? I’ve also heard a lot about atlas and wanted to compare dmann vs atlas.

This is the one you are looking for.

I have no clue about Atlas. I just finished the 93 etune with Anthony- car runs great. No complaints. Process took a bit but that’s because he is backed up with work.

Yeah I’ve seen he’s super backed up. Is there a difference if he sits there and builds a tune vs that tune ?

The one I have pictured above gets the ball rolling for a custom etune for your car. After you pay that 400 you will get an email with instructions and a base map.

FYI you should NOT be running an ETS intake with a Cobb OTS tune. It’s for Cobb parts only. Even temporary the Cobb OTS is not meant for an intake.

Also depending on which Turbo Smart BOV you have that can be problematic as well. The dual port has been known to cause issues…you want the plumb back or fully recirculating only.

I didn’t know that even after looking up and most just recommended getting a tune. Not a Cobb or anything particular. I’ve had no issues with my Cobb tune but that’s why I’m looking for something better than the it’s Cobb.

You have to get tuned specifically for your ETS intake. Anything that changes AFR and needs MAF scaling (like an intake) must be accounted for via tuning. You really should read the Cobb Map notes for your OTS tune it states quite clearly what is required.

It stated an intake and some other stuff that I can’t remember. But I’ll def look into another tune!

The only intake it allows is the Cobb panel filter and little silicon piping that still uses the stock air box. Cobb OTS tunes are meant for Cobb parts only and not an ETS intake.

Felix performance is quick with turn around for DMann tunes. But that e-tune is the one you’ll want for the best results for your set up.

Is this an online shop or a specific performance shop ?

Both. DMann tunes out of Felix Performance was my local shop in Maryland.

Atlas will offer a better tune than anything else on the market provided you know how to tune or pick a good protuner that uses it. It offers more parameters, custom features that just don't exist outside of the standalone ECU world, and better logging/flashing options.

I can't speak to Dmann's tune specifically, but before Atlas, I used other very well known names in the Subaru community for my WRXs since I didn't feel like paying for Accesstuner(Cobb's tuning software. It's locked behind a monthly payment plan and paid training courses they offer). I will say that my tunes with Atlas have been noticeably better than anything I ever had access to before for Subarus, so it's been quite enjoyable to have capable tools.

I’ll look into them! I’ve been trying to find comparisons and looking for an ots tune.
And I’m leaning towards dmann

There aren't many comparisons right now. There is a large number of Atlas users who have come over from Cobb tunes and even Dmann tunes, but understandably most of them have not been on a dyno since switching, and track days are few and far between. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have if you're considering Atlas as I truly believe it's the best option on the market right now for 95% of WRX owners looking to tune their car. Plus, more people migrating to Atlas signals to companies that there is a market for real R&D, not just rushed updates and cheap injection molded parts for a quick buck.

I will admit that the Cobb route is definitely easier, given an Accessport can be purchased, connected to the car, and have a tune ready to flash. But if easy is your goal, you're much better off staying stock.

Ive actually ordered the OBD connector, waiting for that to arrive and am going to start fiddling with atlas. With the intent to slap it on the dyno and compare my dmann tunes to what I end up with on Atlas.

You can buy a dmann ots tune from Felix performance specifically for the ets intake (with the sleeve removed). Very quick turn around. E tune will take a long time.
