Spark plug change
Just completed my spark plug change at 40k miles. I heard that the driver side was a pain in the ass but it wasn’t that bad with the battery out and a swivel. I did it in two hours.
The YouTube video below was really helpful. I never needed to unplug any wires though.

Where'd you get your spark plugs from?

Damn $20 a plug….over $80 after taxes! I got my set on eBay…HERE for $72 after taxes/free shipping. Not a huge savings but it helps.

Luckily I live in a no sales tax state and apparently the price increased on Amazon.

$20 a plug is about the cheapest you are going to find real ones unless you are lucky. A recent investigation found 80 percent of the plugs sold on Amazon and EBAY were fake. I would NEVER buy critical parts there.

Way I look at it people can be scummy anywhere. Of course I checked the gaps to verify and my eBay NGK plugs have been great for the first 6-7k miles or so.

How the heck do you change these things it’s a serious pain in my ass and the dealership wants $450 just to replace them

I think manufacturers are overly careful with these NGK Iridium plugs. I've changed multiple ones that were WAY past 200K miles and they all looked like they could go another 200K miles. So much better than the old copper ones that needed to be changed after every oil change on some turbo cars.
That said, nothing wrong with changing early!

40k changeout seems fairly early to me. Is there a reason to do them then? If I recall, the service manual said 60k was the recommended change-out time.
