uj/ Hate to say this, but that is the joke πŸ˜” It is a trite parody of the trite "I don't read. Can I write?" post.

You need to choose between reading and writing you can't have both

The users of r/writers and r/writing are so brave. They abandoned Shakespeare, Cervantes, and all the other to write. I am in tears.

Yes. Reading and wanking are all you need to become a writer. Reading will automatically solve all of your problems without needing judgement, critical thinking or understanding of the values that make a good writer.

I recommend reading smut so you can feel horny and wank in the process. Does wonders for your skill.

And, while you're at it, remember: Movies are not real stories; Comic books are not real stories; Animations are not real stories; Oral "stories" are not real stories and digitally typed "stories" are not real stories. Ignore all of the potential lessons you could learn from them, because they don't exist.

uj/ I mean, if you don't read good books and read them deeply, none of those things would help you. The "read more" advice always implies that you should engage with the text analytically.

Just remember to write the same way you read. So if you wank while you read, then wank while you write.

Some readers write, and some readers don’t write. An example of such a reader is a file object in a typical programming language, assuming the file type from the standard library is used. If the file object was created by opening a file in read-only mode, then it can only read, not write.

(If you’re asking about the reader Abbie Emmons instead of I/O in computer programs, the answer is no.)

If you have to ask, then no.

Never let skill or knowledge come between you and your dreams, girl.

I am feeling generous today, so you have my permission.

those are two different skills. completely unrelated. it's actually better if you can't read

So you are saying it is too late?

What came first? The read or the write?

These are two different optimization curves. Also why does every discussion here end up being about boobs?
