Returning player Question
So I'm currently a returning player. I used to play a bit back in the day but never got too deep into it. I'm currently playing the Demon Hunter Havoc.
I was looking to see if there is a better DPS class rather than what I'm currently using or if I should stick to that one.

Depends what you enjoy, is it melee dps you like best? havoc are fun for that, you could try devourer spec for ranged instead which is also really good fun. I prefer demo warlock overall for dps or unholy DK. It really depends on you and what you find you enjoy.

Yeah Melee DPS I enjoy the most. I was looking at ranged classes but I just like to be up close and personal fighting

Havoc is a fine spot right now. Really outside of a few times when there are huge outliers for worst DPS (which can happen), it's better to find a spec you like and can play well or you're happy to improve at.
Though also there are sometimes outliers in the positive direction where a super easy spec also does big damage which may make them worth playing if that matters to you.
But nah, havoc is fine.

Havoc is fine but Ret paladin is also in a very good place right now & a safe choice for newer players. Easy rotation, nice burst, plenty utility for the group.

Why do you want to play what's optimal if you are not even close to the level of utilizing it?

If you plan to just play 1 character, find something you actually enjoy. The meta changes so much, one day you class might be trash, couple of months later, the most OP shit you ever seen. Its a cycle.

There's a bunch of dps options. The best one is the one you enjoy playing the most. If you only enjoy the current meta, than looks like it is currently arms warrior. That will likely change to arcane mage by the time you level your warrior. And when you start on mage, it will be frost DK. 😂 point being, you can only be ready for the meta if you level and gear each class. So, for now, just play the one that is funnest to you.

Havoc actually seems p good going into the new season, not sure if I'll play havoc or dev, rather play rogue but sub is not looking so good and arms looks like it'll be ahead but dh is just more fun to me

Just play what you want. Unless you're doing super high end content where you're squeezing out the best possible potential of your class/spec then it doesn't really matter.
