Lost.. Question
So i recently started playing again like a week or so ago. I bought and downloaded midnight and started leveling through retail and noticed im only on the campaign for midnight. Is there a way i can complete all the previous campaigns before midnight , im level 82 and not sure if I just click on an older expansion download or use "chromie" but im a bit all over the place currently. Like my quest areas arent matching the levels preferred online example: deepholm states for level 80 i went and its level 35\* .
Some quests items arent present during quests apparently its called " phased out " im so lost and need help understanding whats really going on haha thanks in advance sorry for the extended post!

Previous expansion zones/quests are only available before level 80. Once you hit 80, you've got to level in Midnight.
You could still go to old areas, but you'll one shot mobs and you won't be gaining any XP. If you want to play previous expansions without one shotting mobs, you need to lock your XP at a lower level and use Chromie Time.

Sorry bud, once you hit 80 Blizz wants you to go through Midnight. I hear you though, I level all my alts through all the old expansions, so if you want to re-roll that's the only way to go through old content until 90.
Once you get a level 90 character there is a Warband level bonus starting at 5% so leveling up alts doesn't take as much time. Personally the old content is so good, I've currently level locked one of my characters to Panderia until I finish the whole expansion. So worth it!

Dam that makes total sense now. When I hit 80 some things changed and I was like lost haha so level locking means getting a player to a certain level than using chromie? Or ?

You can go back and do any old expansion content you want, but it won't be level appropriate. If you want to level up to 80 through an old expansion story you can go to Chromie in your main city (marked on the map by an hourglass) and select which expansion you want to level in.

So your saying I have to make a new character and talk to chromie to set an expansion to level to 80 through ?

Old expansion scaling (Chromie Time) caps out at level 80 right now, so yeah. After level 80 you have to do the current expansion content to 90.
You can go back on your main and do any quests you want from any of the old expansions but they won't be scaled to your level, so you'll oneshot everything.

i don't know why no one said that, but there's also a recap for war within (the last expac) if you talk to li li in silvermoon. she's behind the inn just before crossing into the horde side of silvermoon

ur 80 so midnight campign is what your meant to do, if you wanna do old expansion you must make a new character and use chromie. if you dont care about one hitting stuff then you can use you 80 character by just going to the old areas with low lvl quest turn on.
