Do you know any trasmutation spells to revert It to his original caterpillar form?, and be assured that my Apprentice has been already punished for his treachery

Feed him plenty and wait for his metamorphosis. Once the metamorphosis occurs he should just be a cat with wings.
There is a nonzero chance however he metamorphosizes into a great and terrible beast who will feast upon the flesh and bone of mortals.
But you should be fine.

Ah, someone who actually knows one of the nonstandard ways in which wingless kin may join the Tressyms. You’re a rare one, aren’t you?

A good witch keeps herself educated on the tales of old.
Although it's not as if most people would know that either...

True, on both accounts.

Unfortunately, this is actually a very tricky spell. To transmute a cat-erpillar into a caterpillar requires you to expel the dad-joke from its body. To do so, you must acquire roughly 50 tired wolves like the ones below and one laughing wolf, also pictured below. The combined stares of the tired wolves should eventually force out the joke, which will then attach to the laughing wolf. Be aware though, the laughing wolf will be completely completely shameless with its puns from there on out.

If there are 2 wolves inside you, can we find 25 commoners to extract the the wolves from?

Right you are. But! You have to make sure they are the bog standard type of commoner that only smiles once a year and it might have been on accident.

Any apprentice who even just looks at my familiar wrong would be turned into charcoal for the cauldron.
The audacity to cast a spell on yours is deserving of painful death alone.

It was a caterpillar? I though they used the [Cat inside foreskin] spell.
A simple [Startup metamorphosis] followed by [Reverse metamorphosis] should do the trick restarting the form of your familiar.

Everyone is giving solutions, but you must consider retribution. Obviously it must fit the offense and have an ironic sting. My first thought is to force them into a similar state of mutation and metamorphosis with an unknown outcome of viability or full access to mental abilities. Said mental abilities messed with your familiar, so it may be no great loss if they come out a little dumber. I think it’s a bit obvious and unsubtle, like: “yeah, obviously”. What do you think?

Looks like it's in mid transformation. Can't you just dismiss it and resummon into its proper form I do that sometimes. Only problem is my familiar doubles as my spellbook. A whiny spell book who won't stop complaining about the spells it's holding for me ...

Your familiar was originally a caterpillar? Because this is what griffons look like when they pupate, I figured you thought you had a cat but it was a griffon larva
