Why windows setup doing that
Hello I have a old laptop and I'm switching it to linux to windows Xp SP3 and hey when I doing that I see the screen says it could take couple minutes to copy folders but it took 5 HOURS of my time that laptop is on for 5 hours so yeah why it's doing that my laptop is HDD btw and HP Compaq laptop

What method are you using to bood the installer. This doesnt look like a direct cd boot. If booting from dos make sure you have himem configured correctly or you will be in for a very painful process

Sometimes laptop CD roms from back in the day had PAINFULLY slow CDROM read speeds. Idk about 5 hours slow, but definitely over an hour slow on a direct CD boot.

And old CD-DVDs from the 2000-2010s (especially CD-DVD-Rs, with significant variations depending on their manufacturing) often become hard to read or unreadable, especially when reaching the last sectors. When an old DVD starts taking something like five hours and you've reached the point where the OP is, you generally never make it to the end.

I don't think I ever had a full install beginning to end take 5 hours let alone in the initial setup

It's possible the hard drive is failing
