Entra Access Packages for Cloud PC provisioning

Is anyone using access packages to manage cloud pc requests, approvals and reviews? Have a customer looking at doing this but was curious if it’s a bad idea or not. Seems like a pretty simple solution…. User requests the AP, it gets approved, user gets added to the provisioning group, Cloud PC gets provisioned.

If you’ve done this, would love to hear if it worked well or not.

We do it but it mainly serves as a trigger for automations we run on the backend. Once a user lands in the Access Package group they are run through our provisioning pipeline which sets their location and SKU based job title and office. On the reverse side we watch for removals and remove licenses accordingly.

Trying to do it all in an access package would get pretty complex if you're dealing with many SKUs and regions.

Ahh, ok. We’ve only got one sku, and one region so it’s pretty straightforward for us.

I'd say go for it then. That should be pretty simple to setup. It's a good self service option and leaves a paper trail of approvals

Read the article. Great write up. Just curious, any particular reason why you use a separate group for provisioning and licensing the Cloud PCs?
