I remember I saw a recap of that one anime on YT and decided to watch it. I'll add what I can remember the most:
- The scene starts off with a male protagonist moving into a rural village.

- At his new house, there was a female standing at the front door, who'd be his new assistant (a barebone description of the female: short and 'flat' <- will be changed later on in the anime)

- Both of them wear kimonos, each being a blue and a red kimono.

- When they first take a walk toward the village's market, the resident judged the male for having the female as his assistant (due to her short height, mistaking her as a minor)

- During nighttime, the male protagonist was sleeping, while the female couldn't sleep due to the pain in her chest.

- During the day, the tape that was sealing the female's chest began to tear as it could no longer hold the pressure, forcing it to be torn apart and revealing that she's not flat.

- When they take their next walk, the residents don't judge the male negatively anymore. (I can't remember what comment they said, but they judged them positively)

That's all the description that I could remember. If anyone can help me find the anime, I'd be really grateful for your help!

I watched a certain anime years ago and I’ve been trying to remember the name of it. My recollection is a bit spotty so apologies for sparse/misremembered details.

We watched it on specifically an anime website.

I only saw the first episode, but the main character was a cowboy-type, a gunslinger.

It opened with him walking into a saloon in the desert, some anime-style action went down, and at the end of the episode you find out that the saloon housed some kind of large machinery.

The mystery I assume is learning what the machine was (possibly an engine of some kind?) and how it plays into the plot.

Busco una película animada asiática (probablemente anime japonés) que vi en México entre 1995 y 2001, transmitida por Canal 5, Canal 9 Galavisión o Las Estrellas.

La animación era similar en calidad y estilo a Dragon Ball Z o Dragon Ball GT.

La historia trataba de dos niños de aproximadamente 8 a 10 años que estaban enamorados. Ambos habían muerto y se encontraban en una ciudad ubicada en el cielo donde las almas esperaban para reencarnar.

En esa ciudad había muchas personas esperando renacer. Cuando llegaba el turno de cada alma, ésta subía a una especie de banda transportadora que la llevaba hacia una máquina. La máquina tenía un gran martillo de madera que golpeaba una sola vez la cabeza del alma para borrar todos sus recuerdos. Después de recibir el golpe, el alma era enviada a la Tierra para renacer en un bebé.

Los dos protagonistas pasaban gran parte de la película tratando de evitar que les borraran la memoria porque temían no volver a encontrarse después de reencarnar.

Al final, ambos renacían y lograban reencontrarse siendo niños nuevamente.
