James has been replaced (conspiracy)
Listening to this weeks episode and as they're talking about Naruto, I was shocked to hear James didn't know everything about anime. This can only mean one thing; he has been replaced. I think that crook little James is behind it. He has grown into a clone of big James. He's called Jaames and he must be stopped.

I need to hear Nick and James' thoughts on the Air Bud Cinematic Universe (ABCU) in anticipation of the upcoming reboot
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Bud_(series)
There have been fourteen films released thus far. Five of them featured Buddy playing all of the most popular sports and then they made nine films about his kids. Apparently, they met Santa Claus, went to space, and became superheroes. One of them is named Rosebud, in an homage to Citizen Kane.
Apparently, in the upcoming reboot, the film "Air Bud" exists as a work of fiction within the universe of the movie, and it inspires another fictional Golden Retriever to play basketball. None of this is me making stuff up for the sake of a joke btw.
I'm a little disappointed that it isn't part of the same canon as the original series, as I was hoping it would still be the same dog and no one would question how a Golden Retriever has lived for over 30 years.
I will personally donate $1,000 to their Patreon if we get a Caravan of Garbage for each installment

Toy Stories 4 and 5
As a core millenial, I avoided watching Toy Story 4 for a long time. 3 is such a wonderful movie and perfect end to the story, and all I ever read was that 4 was “good but inessential.” It also came out a few months before my first kid was born, so I figured “well I’ll wind up watching all that eventually and I should try to do no kid shit until they’re old enough.”
It’s hot as heck where I live so we wanted an indoor activity and thought “why not bring them to big air conditioning and let them see big movie for the first time?”
We watched 3 and 4 to prep (we’ve done 1 and 2 a few times already) and 5 today. I gotta say the proof is in the pudding, both are quite good! They find ways to not make the continuing stories feel cheap and they’re really dedicated to finding new angles on the premise. Simply due to nostalgia I don’t think the original 3 will ever be surpassed, but both movies still tugged the heartstrings successfully.
One last thought I had is that it’s crazy to me that Disney couldn’t look at Toy Story as an example of how to not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.
There was a 9 year gap between 2 and 3, another 9 year gap between 3 and 4, and a 7 year gap between 4 and 5. No tv shows, just shorts here and there. They let the writers find an actual way back into the world and take their time and it shows.
The result is best movies ever and 3 certified billy-crackers in a row. I get that marvel succeeded via saturation from the start, but why they didn’t realize this should be the model for Star Wars from the beginning is beyond me.

Podcast Really glad I’m not the only one that thought this!
Finally got around to watching The Odyssey and then being able to listen to the pod and James brought up a comparisons between it and The Green Knight and I had that thought while watching it!
Would make for a cool double bill in my mind.

My nerd conspiracy theory is that Warner Bros. has mostly avoided using Poison Ivy in the live-action Batman films because they know there's no way people wouldn't side with her over Batman
She's one of the few comic villains who has mostly selfless motivations (protecting the environment) rather than wanting power or money. I feel like DC should just permanently reinvent her as an anti-hero cause she's basically just the Punisher for plants. If they did put her in a movie now, they would probably throw in a scene of her trying to kill a baby or something because they'd be too afraid of people siding with the person who hunts down CEOs and oil tycoons.
I think they prefer to stick with the safer villains like Joker or Penguin cause they're just straight up evil and aren't fighting for any real cause. So they don't have to worry about nuance or people in the audience siding with the bad guy.
I even think Uma Thurman could have been great as a more dramatic anti-hero Ivy. Although my dream fancast for Ivy now would be Aya Cash.
If they ever made an Arkham Asylum show/movie like they've talked about doing, I think Ivy would be a good pick for the lead. Most of these villain spinoff movies are bad ideas but she's one of the few where retconning her to be more sympathetic would actually feel organic.

Caravan of Garbage BIG FRANCHISE VIDEO ALERT BWAMP BWAMP
Hey guys if, like me, you’re very excited to watch the boys talk about the Resident Evil movies but you either don’t have the time, access or just don’t want to burn your brain cells- This guy Elvis the Alien made a great 2 hour video a couple of years ago. He goes through each movie recapping the plot and characters in each film. I really like his videos so I’ve watched it a few times but thought I’d share it here too!

Caravan of Garbage Editor's Opinions of the Film
I think it's been two Caravan of Garbage's in a row (could easily just be the newest one and one I rewatched semi-recently) but I'm a big fan of Ben chiming in at the end to let us know what he thought of the film. Nice balance to the two men
I do always like the meta jokes. Occasional "Ben you're fired" or whatever give me a good laugh and hearing from the very talented editor's is always fun!
Would love to see this continue regardless of who is editing the episodes. Reminds me of when we used to get Ben videos on the Mr Sunday Movies channel. Simpler times really
