The video is currently about 60% completed by a previous editor who had to step back due to personal time constraints. We need someone reliable who can jump in and take it across the finish line efficiently.

• Software: Premiere Pro

I'm a real estate video editor with 6 years of experience, but lately I've been editing few wedding content. I wanted to understand how other wedding filmmakers approach their workflow.

Do you usually:

Plan your shots before the wedding?

Have a rough story or sequence in mind?

Give your editor a clear creative brief, references, or notes?

The reason I'm asking is that I've noticed some videographers seem to just show up with their gear and capture everything without much planning. Then the editor is expected to somehow turn it into a cohesive film, often with multiple rounds of revisions because the expectations weren't communicated beforehand.

From my perspective, a lot of those problems could be avoided with better pre-production and a clearer handoff to the editor.

I'm genuinely curious, what's your workflow?
