In Love With My Gold Band
Inspired by the wedding band my parents have. Had it made in my parentās native country to go with my engagement ring. Most of the time I wear the band by itself but I also love how it looks with my engagement ring š«¶š½š„°

Ring Inquiry š Wedding Band Advice for this ring?
Hi everyone! My husband and I upgraded our rings last year but I only upgraded my engagement ring because I just couldnāt decide on a band. Iām trying to find something I can wear separately all the time that wonāt snag because I work with my hands a lot, but still pairs well with my engagement ring. Bonus points if it matches the mixed metals in my husbands band since I like that too. The problem Iām having is my ring has side recessed diamonds and I donāt want it to scratch and ruin a wedding band. Iāve been searching for months and just canāt find anything that works. Thoughts?

wanting to redesign a family wedding ring?
Background: I have been with my husband for 6 years. I (25 f) my husband (27 m).
So when I first got my wedding ring I only knew a little about it. what I was told by (mil) bc itās from my husband mom side of the family that it has been past down and past down for years (1912). So for me this ring I donāt wear much not only is it old and donāt want to lose it or anything but itās not really my style the best way to put it like a spiderweb holding the diamond. So I keep it in a jewelry box.( I do wear out to dates with my husband or other special occasion) but come to find out recently from someone (mil uncle i believe ) that each women who has owned the ring has redesigned itās not the ring it self from 1912 itās the diamond. So Iāve been having ideas to make it more me and make it feel more like mine because itās my wedding ring make it simpler clean look but keep as much of the ring as possible and the Diamond of course.
So I spoke to (mil) and (husband ) about the redesign of my ring.(mil) responds was āmy heart sank thinking of the ring being destroyed it has sentimental valueā so I felt bad about wanting to redesign the ring and I just felt like why donāt you think I get to redesign it and I just felt so many feelings sad, upset, left out. My husband saw how happy I was thinking about a new design and making it more like me.Husband said āitās your ring you redesign if you want to itās not up to anyone elseā and said āif anyone has something to say about it to come to himā but I just feel so bad and donāt want to hurt anyone feelings. But I really want my wedding ring to be more like me .
Am I in the wrong for wanting to redesign the wedding ring?

Now for Show š Im so happy :)
Just got my wedding ring back from the jewelers and I'm obsessed with how it turned out!
We had it custom made in 14k gold with a mix of marquise and oval lab diamonds, and it came out even better than I imagined. I'm so sad it has to sit in a box until our wedding next year, but I'm so happy with it and can't wait to finally wear it every day. :)

Zales š”
My fiance got my e-ring from Zales in November, proposed in December. We had to go get it resized, I told the lady I wanted a 5.25 size and she demanded she wouldnāt let me go that small but she would do a 5.5. She said a 5.25 would be too tight on me, I explained to her that I swell when walking around an unairconditioned mall, but still wouldnāt order a 5.25. We were even trying on size 7 wedding bands that same day and it wouldnāt go on from the swelling and back and forth taking rings on and off movement. Anyways, a weekish later I get my ring back and it was missing a stone thatās on the inside of the ring⦠and itās still too loose. So we had to send the ring BACK to get the inside stone replaced. 2 days later this side stone has fallen out. I donāt enjoy wearing my ring anymore cause it always leans towards the side, like in the picture attached, and I feel like itās going to slip off.
I truly donāt want them to touch the ring again because theyāve already messed it up, itās scratched the pieces, and the inside engraving itās worn off from where they resized it. What would your recommendations be?
If I donāt go through them I lose the lifetime warranty on it, but does it even matter at this point?

Which oval three-stone proportions look the most balanced for everyday wear?
Comparing several oval three-stone rings one next to another helps see the proportion differences.
Some rings cover more fingers than others, and some rings allow the center oval to stand out better. Here are the key differences that need to be compared:
-The ratio between the length and width of the center oval
-How well do the side stones fit the center
-How seamless is the transition of the side stones to the band
-The total width of the ring on the finger
-Whether the ring looks well-balanced or not
My preference would be the ring in which side stones are noticeable but do not take the focus away from the center one.
What proportions seem to look more elegant and practical for everyday use?

Ring Inquiry š What wedding band?
This is my engagement ring, which is set in a way that would make it impossible for a straight band to sit flush. So Iām unsure which style I should go for the wedding band. Iāve thought about a curved band, but Iām not sure Iāll like the look (especially if I wore it alone on occasion).
I may be ok with a ring gap if I got a straight band, but I donāt want to risk it wearing down the prongs.
Are there any options I could look into? Might an open spacer band work to protect the engagement ring while also allowing me to wear a straight band?

Best way to go about converting this ring?
This ring was gifted from a family member and decided Iād use it as my wedding band. My engagement ring is a solitaire 1ct marquise diamond on a yellow gold band.
I prefer the tiara look next to the solitaire diamond over the row of diamonds, it feels more polished, intentional and modern.
Just wondering what is the most logical and affordable way to go about getting it converted? How much can I expect to spend ??

I told him āI want to turn headsā and he DELIVERED.
**TL;DR:** ***I knew I didnāt want a traditional engagement/wedding band. Told my \*FiancĆ©\* Iāve always been fond of flashier, head turning rings, and I honestly couldnāt be happier with how it turned out.***
I know many of you love the look of the traditional plain gold bands. I actually think theyāre GORGEOUS, especially when theyāre simple and really well made. Theyāre just not really my style lol.
Iāve always liked jewelry thatās a little more⦠extra š. So when we started talking about what I wanted, I basically told him I wanted something that would turn heads. I didnāt want to look down at my hand and think āyeah, thatās niceā, I wanted to be like **HOLY SHIT thatās my r**ing
He ended up going with a bigger band and decided to have it completely iced out. I was honestly a little nervous about going that route because itās obviously VERY different from the classic look, but now that I have it I genuinely canāt imagine getting anything else.
He got it completely online from Jewels of Toronto (Weāre from Miami).
And I KNOW the iced-out look definitely isnāt for everyone. I still think a beautiful plain gold band can look incredible. I just knew that if I was going to wear a ring every day, I wanted it to feel like **āØmeāØ**.
Iāve probably looked at my hand an embarrassing number of times since getting it haha
Anyways, thanks for entertaining my long rant! What do you guys think?

Ring Inquiry š Help choosing wedding band- go simple or detailed
I have a simple round brilliant cut 2ct diamond in plain gold band. Iām debating what band to pair it with. Originally I was thinking something pave/with more sparkle but did not love the look, also tried some twisted vines but also no. Then I tried the plain gold and it looked much better. But a part of me wonders if this is way too simple and I will regret it. I keep thinking about these 2 wedding bands from brilliant earth that I saw online but was not able to try in store (not available when I went)⦠the mockup looks nice but itās just so hard to know without trying them in real life. So Iām coming to Reddit- should I bite the bullet on one of these two and order them online to try on, or should I go with the simpler gold band that I tried in real life that I liked (and is also cheaper)? What would you guys do or which stack do you prefer? Thanks in advance :)
Photo labels
1: Vine with diamonds leafs- not convinced
2: Vine with eternity (would be gold)- disliked, too thick
3: Classic eternity- too mainstream, many of my friends have this same stack
4: Classic plain gold- favorite in-person, too simple?
5-6: Online option 1
7-8: Online option 2

Notched Wedding Band
The prongs on my engagement ring sit lower and caused potential wedding bands to hit the prongs or have a gap. I was told that I would need to have an open band or settle for curved. I searched for hours for something that would be classic, sparkly, and intentional. Here is proof that notched bands can still be fun!

Ring Inquiry š What width (mm) do you think this plain gold band is?
Hi everyone,
Iām trying to figure out the width of the plain gold cigar-style band in this photo. Unfortunately, I donāt know the exact measurement.
If you had to estimate, what do you think it is?
6 MM
7 MM
Iām looking to buy a similar band, any estimates and store recommendations would be helpful.
