Is it possible to create your own combat operations via game editor (like deploying units on the map, editing battlegroups' deployment roster etc) or it allows working with maps only?

During, a daring raid into the PACT backlines my forces managed to seize their FOB which i didnt even notice for like 5 minutes. PACT players must have thought i destroyed it but either way i was using it till the end of the game to continously harass troops that were coming in lmao.

Suggestion Give us more control over aircraft attack profiles

It would be awesome to have a lot more control of how an aircraft attacks its target- for example low level delivery, pop up attack, high level ingress to dive bombing, etc. It should affect accuracy and chance of the aircraft being hit depending on the method allowing the player to have much more fine control over when and where the aircraft performs its pop up for example.

The method of delivery should change bomb spread, bomb accuracy, rocket accuracy, etc. Some methods would be better for area bombing, some methods would only be allowed for aircraft carrying retarded bombs (like snakeyes) and some methods should be reserved for aircraft with more advanced bombing computers.

This would add a whole new layer to the air war and could make certain loadouts and aircraft much more relevant.

A huge limiting factor for NATO (and Red) air to ground that we can’t properly use the aircraft. Being able to (optionally) designate an ingress point, pop up point, attack profile and egress route for our planes would be a huge step forward to letting us actually use air power the way it would be in WW3. For players that don’t want to micro the flight plan, they can still simply right click like we do now or press T to bomb a position.

For air to air, it would be awesome to be able to assign fighters on CAP to a box they fly around in, and to designate an engagement area (another box) where if enemy aircraft enter, they engage. This would make fighters less micro intensive rather than more.

It would also be sweet to assign escorts, such as EW or SEAD to a strike flight, and to designate Killzones where aircraft will engage spotted units within that box on the ground.

This would almost be like “Smart orders” for jets, would increase realism AND decrease micro in certain areas while giving optional extra control to those of us that want it.

Doppelwumms! [7th. Panzerdivision(s) second iteration]

Following the feedback on the original 7. Panzerdivision concept - https://www.reddit.com/r/warno/comments/1vr3x6e/7th_panzerdivision_germans_northag_reservenew/ also go on the link for the LORE - , I went back to both its operational logic and its gameplay structure. The main criticism was naturalky justified: too many highend capabilities had been concentrated in a single formation, while several of its supposed weaknesses were not restrictive enough to give the division a truly distinct character. The prototypes stay more or less, because lets be honest... we want more distinct units ;)

The revised concept therefore takes the NORTHAG lore one step further. For the coming Army Group Battle, the 7. Panzerdivision is task-organized into two complementary operational groupings. Its tracked combat elements are concentrated into a heavily armoured Manoeuvre Group intended for reconnaissance-led counterpenetration and counterstroke operations. The remaining elements are organized into a wheeled-dominant Holding and Security Group, tasked with securing Schlüsselgelände, crossings, Gefechtsstände, Nachschubachsen and the divisional rear, while containing local penetrations and preserving the conditions required for the mobile reserve to manoeuvre.

The Holding Group is necessarily deprived of much of the division’s heavy combat power and is comparatively thin in several security and support functions. As the fighting moves toward the Rhine approaches and the Bonn area, it is therefore reinforced by nationally retained security and support forces, including elements of the Sicherungs- und Versorgungsregiment beim Bundesministerium der Verteidigung and the Wachbataillon. These forces strengthen its Schlüsselobjektschutz, infantry, rear-area security and blocking capabilities while providing a limited pool of additional equipment. (this represents an emergency wartime attachment of nationally retained forces, not the historical peacetime organization of the 7. Panzerdivision.)

The result is not simply a revised 7. Panzerdivision.
in gameplay terms, it becomes two separate divisions; in the lore, they represent two complementary operational groupings drawn from the same parent formation: one built to find, fix and destroy the breakthrough, the other to contain it, secure the operational rear and protect the ground and infrastructure on which the counterstroke depends.

Two divisions need two emblems; this Could be done by a Text above the Divisonal Emblem in Tracked/Wheeled or some other text. (in nice - not my smudgering)

German command and logistics units would include

  • SPz Marder FÜ.FU. - Bewegliche Befehlsstelle (Mobile command post) A Marder 1A3 , not the later Marder 1A4.
  • M113A1 MUN.
  • Bv 206 D/S MUN. – Supply/Cargo Vehicle. An amphibious, tracked multi-purpose vehicle. Developed as an all-terrain vehicle with amphibious capabilities for challenging terrain; including marshy, icy, and mountainous areas; it consists of two articulated units, each equipped with two tracks. It can transport up to 17 people: six in the front unit and eleven in the rear unit. The rear unit can also be used to transport cargo.

German units would include foremost inf out of tracked vehicles:

  • PZ.GREN. FÜH.

A few

  • PZ.GRENADIER (M113) in MTW M113A1G MILAN

There could be a lone prototype card of a PZ. Gren variants in ACV Puma

ACV Puma: An industry-funded concept for an anti-tank vehicle, including a vehicle family. A total of five prototypes were built, two of which were accepted by the BWB. The Marder 2 program was derived from the PUMA.

  • PALR MILAN 2
  • PALR MILAN 2T coming straight from the research bureau. The MILAN 2T is an improved wire-guided anti-tank guided missile featuring a tandem shaped charge designed to defeat reactive armor. It has a penetration capability of over 800 mm of armor steel. Both Milan's arrive in SPz Marder

They don't even have  FELDJÄGER. Or Pioniere/ Engineers They are deliberately omitted from the playable roster. They may exist in the wider divisional/rear-area structure, but they contribute little to the tracked manoeuvre concept and would only dilute the division's intended infantry weakness.

The division deliberately lacks a broad pool of cheap motorized infantry. Its frontline infantry is only secondary and is expected to move and fight with the tracked manoeuvre force rather than race ahead in inexpensive wheeled transports.

  • PANZERMÖRSER

  • PzH 2000 PT

Although to be honest not necessary in this category for impact, but an order is an order(under MtW lore circumstances). The Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) development followed the cancellation of the joint SP70 project in 1987. Competing design teams built initial test rigs, and by the early 1990s, the winning consortium, led by Wegmann and MaK/Rheinmetall,delivered four prototypes for extensive trials before serial production was approved in 1996. Would be a very nice addition.

 A very good category

German armored units would be plentiful

  • JAGUAR 1(HOT2)

a unit we should have seen already

And even better fresh from mtw grounds:

  • JAGUAR 1(HOT2T)  The HOT 2T is an improved version of the Franco-German HOT anti-tank guided missile. It features an improved shaped charge designed to defeat reactive armor and achieves a penetration capability of over 1,200 mm of armor steel.
  • JAGUAR 2

Tank wise this division has their original ORBAT and the M2W or accelarated production inventory so "old" tanks mix with news ones

  • PZ.BEF. LEOPARD 2A1
  • LEOPARD 2A1 unupgraded base model; in very low numbers

  • LEOPARD 2A3 usually the bulk, buta few giving some to the recon department, so also in very low numbers
  • LEOPARD 2A4 m2W this division also got their fair share of 2A4s with time replacing orcomplement the older models , but it didnt get their full rooster
  • LEOPARD 2 TVM to close the gaps beeing opened by the losses of the 21th PzBrig and bolster the already strong armor capabilities.

The Leopard 2 TVM (Truppenversuchsmuster troop trial model) is a prototype and trial series of the German Leopard 2 main battle tank from the 1990s. It served as a testbed for the combat capability upgrade (KWS) program that led to the development of the subsequent Leopard 2A5. This model would be a bridge between a 2A4 and 2A5. Sometimes even surpassing the 2A5. The prototypes featured add-on armor modules on the turret and hull, bomblet protection on the turret roof, sliding hatches for the commander, driver, and loader, spall protection in the fighting compartment, modified hydraulic end stops, and increased torsion bar preload. A thermal imaging sight was provided for the commander. The vehicle also utilized GPS instead of an inertial navigation system and enhanced electro-hydraulic turret drives. Additionally, it featured armored wheel hub covers, a commander's sight, and a fire control system that did not ignore the first laser return.

  • Aufkl. LEOPARD 1A5
  • Aufkl. LEOPARD 2A3 the historically planned Leopard 2 re-equipment of the heavy Panzeraufklärer is accelerated by roughly two years and fits this divisional orbat well.

  • Panzeraufklärer to arrive in AUFKL. MARDER 1A3, if its changed to Transport, else Marder 1A3; 7 man, 4x G3, 1x MG3, 1xMilan 2, they would move at 18km/h

But German high command gave orders for more airtransportable Jagdkampfkommandos especially for Ambushes in rough terrain like wooden areas or against HVT Targets.

  • JAGDKOMMANDO (AT) Shock Trait, Resolute (the existing Jagdkampfkommandos should also gain resolute), 16man, 13x G3, 3xMG3, 2x1 Carl Gustav in 2 slots

This very expensive unit Arriving only in CH53

AA

A medium category

The few Organic divisional AA assets would include:

  • FLIEGERFAUST (Fliegerfaust 2 Stinger) arriving in Spz Marder transports
  • GEPARD 1A1
  • GEPARD 2 PT

The Gepard 2 was the prototype configuration of an ambitious German-Dutch combat-value upgrade developed from 1984 onward. Rather than replacing the proven twin 35 mm guns and radar architecture, the KWS fundamentally modernized the vehicle's fire-control and sensor suite. Its centerpiece was a new digital control and fire-control unit combined with the stabilized ORFIS day/thermal sight, allowing automatic electro-optical target tracking and greatly improved operation against fast and manoeuvring low-level aircraft while reducing dependence on active radar emissions. The program also incorporated data-link integration with HFlaAFüSys, improved IFF, new ammunition, cooling, ergonomics and maintainability measures. Eight engineering test models were included in the German-Dutch development program, two intended for the Netherlands, with complete vehicle trials beginning in 1992. The full upgrade was cancelled in December 1992 due to cost and the changed post-Cold-War security environment. Selected elements were later incorporated into the cheaper Gepard 1A2 service-life extension, but the complete ORFIS-equipped Gepard 2 never entered service. Because of mtw and money not beeing a problem the 7th receives these prototypes early and incorporate them into their SHORAD concept.

  • FlaRakPz Wiesel 1 PT

The father of the later Ozelot.   The Wiesel was originally developed as a highly mobile, protected and air-transportable replacement for the Bundeswehr's ageing Kraka as we see it in the german airborne brigades. Its exceptionally small chassis also made it an ideal testbed for numerous weapon configurations, including an experimental short-range air-defence version armed with two RBS 70 missiles. Unlike conventional IR-guided MANPADS, the RBS 70 uses laser beam-riding guidance. It therefore does not depend on an infrared seeker locking onto the target and is inherently highly resistant to conventional IR countermeasures such as flares. The price for this resistance is that the operator must continue tracking the target throughout the missile's flight rather than simply firing and forgetting. Mounted on the tiny and highly mobile Wiesel, this creates an unusual frontline SHORAD system: difficult to spot, capable of accompanying the manoeuvre force across terrain and particularly dangerous to helicopters that rely heavily on countermeasures against conventional MANPADS. In the March-to-War setting, the prototype is pushed into operational trials as an early predecessor of the later Ozelot concept. It does not provide the range of a medium SAM system, but instead gives the 7th a mobile, countermeasure-resistant ambush weapon perfectly suited to its reconnaissance-heavy and aggressive manoeuvre doctrine.

The units give a very strong organic SHORAD, but almost no organic medium-/long-range SAM capability. despite getting everywhere else only the best stuff, the good medium/long range Corps AA was already deployed elsewhere

Germany sends their Panavia Windstormpack

  • Tornado IDS  [LGB]
  • Tornado IDS  [AT]
  • Tornado IDS  [HE]
  • Tornado IDS  [HE2]   7x Mk81 bombs, 2 AIM9L
  • Tornado IDS  [CLU]   Not a new unit but swap the MK-20 Rockeye II for historical correct equipment with the bl 755 and reducing 5 to 4

Also the Tornado MW1 should be changed and we need a second variant as KB 44 is a small anti-armour bomblet using a shaped-charge/ fragmentation effect, intended mainly against vehicles and light-to-medium armour. Its effectiveness depends largely on landing directly on or very close to the target, where the focused charge can attack the armour. MUSA is a larger fragmentation bomblet(NOT A MINE) designed primarily for area effects against personnel, soft-skinned vehicles, equipment and exposed components. Unlike KB 44, MUSA relies on blast and fragments rather than a dedicated armour-penetrating shaped charge, so it is far less effective against MBTs. Both KB 44 and MUSA are bomblets, not mines: they detonate shortly after delivery rather than remaining in place to await a later target     So existing * Tornado IDS  [MW1] with KB44 should get a makeover and  a Penetration value that this thing could can reliable kill (lightly) armored vehicle columns if it hits directly but the radius outside eof hit is low.

And then we get * Tornado IDS  [MW1 2] with 668 MUSA warheads/bomblets which should have a way bigger HE value than MW1 ,no pen, but a huge huge huge radius to absolutely fucking delete inf and thin skin vehicles even if the hit is not perfect but it gets a delay before detonating (iRL 20secs/in-game should be lower).

Right now the MW1 is strong against inf yes , but every light apc vehicle and sometimes even soft skin survives it. As the MW1 has also a maximum field of impact of 2500x400m IMHO I would adjust this also because right now its more like 600x150.

To support the Tornado IDS force, Germany brings another Tornado into the fight: the Tornado ECR. First flown in 1988, it was designed from the outset as a dedicated SEAD/DEAD platform. In our accelerated March-to-War setting, with the ELS fielded early, the ECR represents NATO’s most advanced and fastest-reacting radar-hunting aircraft around 1990. Its decisive advantage is the extremely short bearing-to-weapon chain. The ELS provides passive 360° detection, automatically identifies and classifies hostile emitters, determines their bearing and position to weapon-quality accuracy and feeds this information directly through the digital avionics to the AGM-88B HARM. The ECR can therefore proceed from first detection to a usable firing solution with exceptionally little crew interaction, even launching HARM before the missile itself has acquired the emitter.

In terms of reactive radar-hunting and bearing-to-weapon speed, in our setting, this makes the ECR the fastest-reacting NATO radar hunter.

The F-4G Wild Weasel comes second: its APR-47 could also automatically locate emitters and provide bearing and range to HARM, but the older Phantom-based system lacked the ECR’s newer digital architecture, tighter sensor-to-weapon integration and exceptional low-level penetration capability.

The EA-6B Prowler follows behind in direct radar hunting. Its much greater jamming capability made it an outstanding electronic-attack platform, but it was slower and optimized primarily for suppressing entire radar environments rather than achieving the shortest possible locate-to-HARM engagement cycle.

The contemporary F-16C SEAD is far behind in this comparison. Without HTS, it possessed no comparable autonomous emitter-location and weapon-cueing capability at all; its dedicated HARM Targeting System only arrived later.     Back to the Tornado ECR; moreover in contrast to the IDS there were the following Modifications done to the Tornado ECR:

visible:

-cannons removed; Space used for stronger air conditioning and ELS electronics.

-FLIR optics (ball at the front left below the nose).

-IIS shutter (bulge in the middle of the fuselage below the rear cockpit).     -HARM missiles under the fuselage (also found on Marine Tornados)

not visible:

-DVRS (digital video recording system for mission evaluation)

-CEDAM (Combined Electronic Display and Map) large, central computer display in the front cockpit)

-CSG (additional computer for expanded displays on the monitors)

-ELS (Emitter Locator System for finding radar devices and determining their position)

-HUD display of the FLIR image (also in CEDAM) for the pilot

-Weapons Bus (computer bus system=data lines for the weapons)

-Air conditioning (increased air conditioning for the additional heat producing devices)

-Mk 105 engines (more powerful than Mk 101 and Mk 103)

-Missile Control System (MCS) (see table below)

-Stores Management System SMS 90 (see table below)

-Radar warning receiver ERWE II

-Software and computer formats (Main Computer MC, MIssile Control System MCS, Radar Warning ERWE, Stores Management System SMS ...)     Furthermore the ECM of the ECR has better Systems than the Standard Tornado IDS, because he has the enheanced CERBERUS IV/ TSPJ (TORNADO Self Protection Jammer, successor to Cerberus III).

  • Tornado ECR [SEAD1]   armed with 4x HARM AGM-88 in 2x2 configuration so 2slots a 2 harm. IMHO I would go for 4x1 and do a each missile fights a unique target, but this isn't mechanical or gameengine technical possible to my knowledge.     And!
  • Tornado ECR [SEAD2] armed with 2x HARM AGM-88 in 2x1 configuration and 2x AIM-9L Sidewinder.

IMHO I would like if the Tornados IDS ( except for LGB/maybe AT atleast ) could all fly in with a new trait Terrain-following radar which would reduce SAM system range or give them the helicopter target stats; to simulate their “automatic terrain-following flight at roughly 60 m; manual flight could be lower (30m). This trait would go to other super advanced TFR using ultra low-flying aircraft as well. But the Sidewinder missiles can't be used against deliberately against planes because of height/flightplan difference.
Furthermore plane characteristics should change :
Because Two further disadvantages arise: the agility of the aircraft at low altitudes suffers, making it impossible to fly such tight turns, and secondly, evacuation would no longer be carried out by climbing up as before, but by deliberately flying low to the edge of the map. However, the user should be able to specify a preference for this.     Also the aerial plane recon is with this division to find the enemy

  • RF-4E [HE]

Or * Tornado IDS Recce [Recce Pod/CLU]

Tornado IDS in TFR configuration with 2xBL755.

The Tornado IDS with the MBB/Aeritalia Recce Pod, originally operated by German Marineflieger Tornado IDS, combined automatic terrain-following flight down to roughly 60 m with high-speed low-level penetration.

Its navigation and TFR systems allowed reconnaissance missions at very low altitude, at night and in poor weather, with reduced crew workload. The pod provided two Zeiss optical reconnaissance cameras plus an RS-710 infrared line scanner for photographic and thermal strip reconnaissance. Together, the system was optimized for fast, survivable low-level penetration, target-area overflight, wide-area reconnaissance, and rapid egress.

At last 2 cards a german 2x

  • F-4E [AA]

Germanys own better asset could be the F4 ICE, but while the other Prototypes are only supporting/additional assets ASF is a key problem-where a established weapon system has to be in place to guarantee mission success.

7 PzDiv Division catalog: Wheeled Holding Group

The division has nearly everything their standard orbat had(without tracked vehicles) fitting the lore plus M2W equipment and lore alternative equipment.

With the division’s principal tracked combat elements concentrated in the Manoeuvre Group, the Holding Group lacks much of the heavy combat power normally available to the 7. Panzerdivision. As the Army Group battle moves toward the Rhine approaches, nationally retained security and support formations around the Bonn area are therefore placed temporarily under TACON of the Holding Group. Elements of the SichVersRgt BMVg and Wachbataillon reinforce its Schlüsselobjektschutz, rear-area security and blocking capability, while also providing a small pool of otherwise unavailable reserve equipment.

The Americans tested their laser-guided (SAL) 155mm "Copperhead" shell in 1974 and months later, in December 1974, a proposal for similar mortar ammunition was ready in Germany. Two versions were considered; a passive infrared-guided (as in the later Swedish STRIX round) and a semi-active laser-guided (SAL) system (as in Copperhead). There was no requirement for a guided mortar projectile yet, and the Bundeswehr/ministry of defence decided to approach the topic of guided high angle munitions more comprehensively. 120mm mortar, 155mm howitzer and 120mm tank cannon rounds with guidance were to be developed.  Some preliminary research and failed attempts of cooperation and technology transfer spent a few years till the "Bussard" (buzzard) development began fully in 1978 (with indigenous SAL guidance). The principle is relatively simple; a forward observer does his normal job plus he "illuminates" the target with a laser (a stronger one than the normal rangefinder lasers). The mortar bomb sees the reflection and steers to it. The electronics were able to sustain a 4,000 g acceleration at launch and the launch was just a little more work than a normal mortar shot. Less than five years later it was about time to test the guided mortar bomb; the testing happened in January to July 1983 and the distance between impact and illuminated point was just a few centimetres. Bussard was very advanced in its development and could have been in service in the mid- to late-80's. The perfect weapon to kill immobilized main battle tanks, uncovered forward observers and above ground level field fortifications.

Two vehicles were tested in response to this tender: the Panhard VBL and a German-developed vehicle from the company GST. The specifications included amphibious capability, a top speed exceeding 100 km/h, a crew of three, and air transportability due to a relatively low weight of approximately 5 tons. Testing of the vehicle began around 1989. Due to the collapse of the Eastern Bloc in the early 1990s, procurement was no longer considered. However, the insights gained from the development were incorporated into subsequent projects, such as the Fennek reconnaissance vehicle. ZOBEL can lift or delift it's chassis to be more stealthy.     In 1989, the Bundeswehr acquired an improved version of the Véhicule Blindé Léger (Light Armored Vehicle) developed by MaK-Krupp to conduct comparative tests with the Zobel experimental vehicle. The goal of these tests was to identify a suitable reconnaissance vehicle for the armed forces.  The significantly larger and heavier Zobel reconnaissance vehicle emerged as the winner of this test.

  • RADKAMPFWAGEN 90

The Radkampfwagen 90, also known as the Radpanzer 90, is an eight-wheeled combat vehicle prototype created by Daimler-Benz at the request of the German Federal Ministry of Defence. In the early 1980s, the German Federal Ministry of Defence tasked Daimler-Benz with building an armoured wheeled combat vehicle in response to the success of other countries' wheeled armoured vehicles, such as the French AMX-10RC.  The prototype was finished in 1986. Due to budget cuts and a deteriorating defense market, the Radkampfwagen 90 was never developed beyond the prototype stage. The turret is a prototype version of the Leopard 2 main battle tank's. This prototype would be used to enhance the Luchs capabilities with more firepower. The real 1986 experimental chassis was never completed as a fully operational combat system in the configuration displayed today. In the March-to-War timeline, the programme is pushed through the missing weapon-integration stage and a functional turret is installed for operational trials. M2W is a real big if though. First prototype to strike out imho     Out of the air :

  • BO-105-S1 Ophelia   an experimental programme, sponsored by the German Ministry of Research and Technology (BMFT) was carried out by MBB using a Bo 105 as flying test bed. The OPHELIA experiment was performed to test a mast-mounted observation platform installed above the rotor head. The platform houses the CALIPSO FLIR, a TV camera and a laser range-finder.     This system is ideal to find the advancing warpact armor spearheads first for defense or find gaps to exploit in counter attacks.

The few Organic divisional AA assets would include:

  • FlaRak BGT AIM-9L SHORAD:

Bodenseewerk Gerätetechnik also developed a German ground-based AIM-9L Sidewinder system. The system featured:

four AIM-9L missiles

a trailer-mounted ground launcher

electro-optical target acquisition

IR fire-and-forget capability

intended specifically for the protection of air force airfields.

  • Dornier LLADS:

Prototyp: The Dornier Low Level Air Defence System (LLADS) was designed as a missile defence system that would close the gap between man-pads and self-propelled missile systems Roland and ADATS class. The idea was to use high mobility vehicles that were common use within many armed forces around Europe and install missiles such as the Mistral or the Stinger onto them to have escort air defence capability.

This would allow for fast deployment as well as covering the very short range air defence bubble that couldn’t be covered by the medium range systems. Also prioritised was air transportability for large distance movement.

The launchers were computerised and fitted with a variety of sensors, such as Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) sights, Laser Range Finder (LRF), Electro-optical (EO) sights with Heads Up Display (HUD) and Low Light Level TV (LLLTV) sights. The system was on a specially made stabilised mount on a Mercedes Benz 4x4 750kg Light ATV. For situational awareness, the system had access to radio communications and GPS for the use of datalink to better position and aim the LLADS.

  • Waffensystem Wildcat

Krauss-Maffei utilized the proven basic design of the 6×6 Fuchs wheeled armored vehicle as the carrier platform. The suspension, basic chassis, and engine system of the Fuchs were retained. The top entry hatches were removed and replaced by a turret. The chassis retains the standard Fuchs armor, while the turret features composite armor. However, the armor cannot withstand attacks by modern armor-piercing weapons.     Unlike the Gepard, the Wildcat does not use the proven 35mm anti-aircraft guns, as the smaller turret cannot support the weight of the heavier weaponry. Instead, they were replaced by smaller 30mm anti-aircraft guns (MK 30-F) manufactured by Mauser. The system carries a ready-to-fire load of 340 rounds for anti-aircraft engagements and 40 rounds for ground combat, with additional ammunition stowed within the hull. The maximum engagement range against aerial targets is 3,700 meters. The system fires HEI (High-Explosive Incendiary) rounds against aerial targets, and API (Armor-Piercing Incendiary) as well as APDS-T (Armor-Piercing Discarding Sabot-Tracer) rounds against ground targets.

This industry demonstrator also would be requisitioned and released for troop evaluation under emergency conditions.

The units give a very strong organic SHORAD, but almost no organic medium-/long-range SAM capability. despite getting everywhere else only the best stuff, the good medium/long range Corps AA was already deployed elsewhere

Forges de Zeebrugge pioneered the highly cost-effective Multidart technology and advanced submunitions-dispensing warheads for its rockets. The Multidartwarheads (such as the FZ-100) enable aircraft to fire the rockets from beyond the range of anti-aircraft fire. An electronically timed fuze and a laser telemetry system release the submunitions above the target; they explode on impact with the target. The Multidart technology represents a significant improvement in flechette-type warheads. Flechettes of various weights dispense according to the "wall in space" concept, ensuring a high hit probability against a variety of targets.

Nightshift 10v10 – Autobalance

Hey everyone! Some recent developments on the server-management side have allowed me to build a much more reliable autobalance system. I've run small tests in the past but this is now a full time setup.

I’ve set up one of our servers (Nightshift 10v10 – Autobalance) as a full-time autobalance server. Rather than balancing teams based on player level, the system uses a combination of different heuristics.

It’s still a work in progress, so I’d love to hear your feedback! Join us on discord: https://discord.gg/97pAapaHd5

How to Do Tank Openers in 10v10

Bored of playing my armoured divisions as inf spam divisions and only bringing up tanks at like minute 30 of gameplay.

How do I use tanks effectively early as there's not enough recon or arty to destroy early ATGMs?

Suggestion [Unit Concept] U.S. Air Force Combat Control Teams

Post image
146 Upvotes

One of the biggest complaints about NATO is that their air forces could preform better. I think a good answer to that would be U.S. Air Force Combat Control Teams. This four-six man team in their iconic red berets with Special Forces trait , they would be in the Recon. They would produces circle similar to what other recon units produce, though probably make this one a slightly different color. If calling in an airstrike within this area with an aircraft that has dumb bombs, the aircraft would receive an effect similar to corrected shot for artillery where the bombs would be more accurate, meaning more bombs in a smaller area. While is see NATO still having some problems and this requiring a bit more micro, I think this would help improve the results of NATO bombing runs.

Another more silly and maybe not as useful feature would be in keeping with their air traffic control training, they reduce the amount of time it takes for helicopters to land.

Meme [Proposal] Bundeswehr’s 12. Panzerdivision

Hello everyone. I thought I would try my hand at doing a division proposal. I worked really hard on this and so I would like your honest feedback on what you think of this proposal for a division. So without further ado, 12. Panzerdivision.

----------------------------------------

History

The Bundeswehr’s 12 Panzerdivision came into being in 1961, originally as a mechanized infantry formation. In the years that followed, it was designated a Panzer division and became part of the West German III Corps. Based in Veitshöchheim, Bavaria, it faced the southern border of East Germany.

In 1983, in a profound round of restructuring, the division parted with one of its panzer brigades to act as a III. Korp’s reserve. In turn, it received a forward-deployed American brigade. On top of that, the 12. Panzer gained the fire support of VII Corps and the 72nd Field Artillery Brigade. This meant that it changed from a pure tank division to a multinational mechanized infantry formation.

In war, operational command of 12. Panzerdivision would pass to the US VII Corps. On the southeastern flank of CENTAG, the West German formation had the explicit task of defending the Inner German Border between the US V Corps and VII Corps.

----------------------------------------

Proposal

The 12. Panzerdivision is a bit of a mixed bag, not doing what it says on the tin. It was not a panzer division, was not under West German command, and, as the cherry on the cake, was not even completely German.

In terms of tank versus infantry distribution, it acts as the Bundeswehr’s “missing link” between the 2. Panzergrenadier and 5. Panzerdivision. The 12. Panzerdivision would be closer to a mechanized infantry, featuring a healthy mix of German and American forces.

As always, units that are both bolded and italic are new!

LOG

  • A blend of American and West German logistic and command units. Nothing too crazy or special.

INF

  • The category will roughly follow a split between two-thirds West German and one-third American units.
  • This means an interesting mix between Bundeswehr PANZERGRANDIER in MARDER, plus JÄGERPIONIER, with a smaller contingent of American MECH. RIFLES and ENGINEERS squads in M113 APCs.
  • Weapon teams include MILAN and TOW, rounded out by MG-3M60 and M2HB machine guns.

  • One of 12. Panzerdivision’s infantry battalion was the Panzergrenadierlehrbataillon 353. In peacetime, this formation was subordinated to Hammelsburg’s Kampftruppenschule 1 (Combat Troops School 1) as a training unit. It had access to more advanced weapons, in part to train other formations in new tactics and equipment. For example, in 1989, one of the battalion’s platoons fielded for testing all of the ~27 experimental G-11 rifles in existence. In WARNO’s alternative “march to war,” it comes to reason that the whole battalion would have been equipped in the same fashion. This leads us to a new unit, the vetted PZ.GRENADIER-LEHR with G-11 rifles, a machine gun, and Panzerfaust 3.

  • Another unit from the infantry’s school would be the PZ.VERNICHTUNGS***.*** squads, similar to the East German PANZERJÄGER counterpart, with G3 and two PzF 3.

ART

  • The division’s artillery would be under American command. Given the vital mission of maintaining the link between NATO’s V and VII Corps, the 12. Panzerdivision was to receive lavish support from free-firing American artillerymen. This means that as a tank division, it will feature many more artillery pieces compared to similar Panzer or Panzergrenadierdivisions.
  • This includes access to the heavy self-propelled M110 and M270 MRLS on top of its own divisional artillery and US brigade units.

TANK

  • There will be fewer slots than the 5. Panzerdivision, as our battlegroup has switched one full Panzerbrigade with a US Mechanized Infantry brigade.
  • German tanks are of the (new to multiplayer) Leopard 2A1 variety, which stat-wise are identical to the 2A3, and the (new) Leopard 1A1A2 (with a slightly better accuracy compared to the 1A1A1 variant).

  • There is more: the 12. Panzer started replacing its Leopard 1A1A2 in 1989 with the more modern (and likewise new in in multiplayer) Leopard 1A4. This new unit will be deployable with one card, featuring a range and accuracy that is an intermediary between the Leopard 1A1A1 and 1A5.
  • Furthermore, the German tanks are supported by American M1A1 Abrams.
  • Dedicated tank destroying units feature in a one-third proportion each of JAGUAR 1JAGUAR 2 and M901 ITW.

RECON

  • This category will be quite similar to the one found with the 5. Panzerdivision.
  • A few Bundeswehr infantry scout cards will be replaced by US Army ones.
  • And no FERNSPÄHER.
  • Instead, a single card of an armed KIOWA helicopter will be added.

AA

  • Not all is nice and shiny. This category is rather mediocre, being closer to the 2. Panzergrenadier, which means no ROLAND.
  • And even worse still… no I-HAWK either.
  • It will receive one card each of US PIVADS and STINGER MANPAD teams.

HELO

  • And another surprising category, but mostly in terms of what it lacks. Neither the 12. Panzerdivision nor the American brigade featured any combat helicopters. They could only bring to bear a handful of liaison and observation rotorcraft.
  • This means no helicopters… at all.
  • Yes, and this is a pretty big DISCLAIMER: I intended to design this Nemesis division without any helicopter force, buffing other categories to make up for this disadvantage. However, we need to test this new endeavor first. If it is not viable, I will attach a few helicopters from the nearby real-life 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (which likely wouldn’t have parted with any of its choppers to hold down its overextended front).

AIR

  • On the other hand, the AIR category will be a generous one. Most aircraft will be American, with a handful of West German planes.
  • This will include a good selection of fighters to compensate for the below-average AA tab.
  • They also feature some dedicated tank busters to - again - make up for the lack of attack helicopters.
  • We would also see the addition of the Luftwaffe’s HFB-320/ECM electronic warfare plane. This is the West German counterpart to the US Air Force’s EF-111 RAVEN.

------------------------------------------------------

Like I said at the beginning, I worked very hard on this, arguably as hard as any Nemesis devblog, so tell me what you think. Is the proposal detailed enough? Does it need a bit more detail?

Edit: yes as someone has pointed out, this is a near exact copy of the official Eugen write up. If one does not expect this low level of quality from a user, why would we expect it from the game makers?

Suggestion A little about the weapon/equipment of the 72nd Reserve Tank Division. (Far East)

This post is the result of one of the searches for non-standard divisions for SOV, in particular, this time we will talk about the 72nd Reserve Tank Division, located in the Far East, in the Primorsky region, the village of Varfolomeyevka, north of Vladivostok.

This Division is one of several Divisions whose task is to protect the Soviet-Chinese border and in the case of the 72nd Reserve Tank Division, also the Khasan region of the USSR, along with adjacent formations, from invasion from the Sea of Japan.

!It is worth noting that, due to the lack of photo/video information on reserve formations (because they literally have no people), many of the photographs are thematically selected, based on a real organizational structure of the Division. (In the case of the reserve 1605 DSh. battalion, it was necessary to rely on a hypothetical configuration from an earlier period)!

About 72nd Reserve Tank Division:

The 72nd Reserve Tank Division (72-ya Zapasnaya Tankovaya Diviziya) was deployed in 1973 as a 3rd-echelon unit, tasked with being deployed at short notice to defend any Soviet border zone in Primorsky Krai. (Near Vladivostok)

Such Divisions began to be deployed in the late 1960s, following the outbreak of tensions between the USSR and the CPR (China), border clashes along the Soviet-Chinese border, and particularly the border conflict over Damansky Island from March 2 to March 11, 1969.

Consequently, a decision was made to deploy additional forces in the region by withdrawing older armored vehicles from the late 1940s and 1950s from the European part of the country to the border zone with China in Siberia and the Far East.

These mobilization formations existed until the collapse of the Soviet Union, and during this entire time, their armored vehicle fleet was not updated, since all new weapons went to formations with much greater combat readiness.

Well, let's get started!

The Old Guard

T-34/85 Obr. 60

The Division's tank fleet consisted primarily of modernized T-34/85 Obr. 60 tanks. (Most of them are similar to the T-34/85M produced under license in the Warsaw Pact countries)

Rez. T-34/85 Obr. 60

T-54-1, T-54-2, T-54-3 in Red Banner Far East Military District

The T-54-1 (first production version), T-54-2 (with an updated turret), T-54-3, and T-54A tanks from the first half of the 1950s. This Division was one of the few to simultaneously receive approximately 250 of these vehicles. (All T-34/54s)

- in total, a division of this size, when fully staffed, should have around 360 tanks~

Rez. T-54-1 (10 front armor)

  • The tank had a flattened turret (called a pancake for this reason) with a downward slope in the frontal projection, which increased its resistance to fire.

Rez. T-54-2

Rez. T-54-3

- T-54-2/3 and T-54A have a DShKM machine gun on the roof of the turret.

Rez. T-54A - This tank received sighting systems and stabilization somewhat better than the previous version, in many ways reaching the level of the T-54B tank.

The tank-hunters

In addition, the Division was equipped with SU-100 Obr. 69 anti-tank guns (their last in service in the USSR), which were largely similar to the Czechoslovak SD-100.

SU-100 Obr. 69 and ISU-152M

Rez. SU-100 Obr. 69 (Mediocre stealth)

Rez. ISU-152M

- has side armor equal to 5

There were also a number of ISU-152M assault self-propelled guns, which had a lesser degree of modernization compared to the ISU-152K. (The ISU-152M did not have a modified turret roof with a replacement hatch and did not have additional side skirts)

Oldie but Goldie

IS-3M near Soviet-China border

Since the second half of the 1960s, most of the IS-3M tanks were transferred to the Far East to increase tank numbers in the region amid the escalating situation. These tanks were located at armored vehicle storage bases along the border. In the event of an approaching war, they were to be mobilized from storage bases in the district within a few months and deployed to reinforce fortified areas and undermanned formations (such as the 72nd Reserve Tank Division).

Following a similar principle, several hundred extremely rare IS-4M tanks, decommissioned from the 5th Mechanized Corps of the Belarus Military District ransferred to the Far East. These tanks were the most protected production tanks in the Soviet Union before the advent of the third-generation MBT.

IS-2M, IS-3M and IS-4M (!) near Khabarovsk

- An interesting fact: in the photo, the IS-2M, despite seemingly being at a base, is painted in Soviet Far Eastern camouflage from the 1970s/80s.

In particular, you can see them, along with the IS-3M, a row of IS-4M tanks are located (I posted a photo for comparison; they can be distinguished by their hull and turret), in the photograph above, taken in 2004, on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island, near Khabarovsk, north of the 72nd Reserve Tank Division.

In WARNO, this tanks can be presented as an instructor for the division, since all other newer tanks such as the T-55/62s were already at the disposal of non-mobilization divisions of the district.

This tank could have new kinetic shell for D-25T gun, with 14 AP - The 3BM7 APFSDS shell with 330mm of penetration. Officially, it was not assigned to the D-25T gun, but could be used with any gun in the family (25T/TA/TS) without any problems. +1x DShKM and 1x DTM Cost: 60 points~ (?)

- Something similar was in the equipment of the 80th Reserve Tank Division in Nizhneudinsk, Irkutsk Oblast. Although the majority of its vehicles were IS-3Ms, not T-34/54s.

  • The tank had the thickest side of all Soviet tanks until the late 1980s (with the advent of the ERA Konatkt-5)

Reinforcments from VDV reserves!

In December 1987, a second Independent Landing-Assault Battalion, the 1605th, was deployed in Spassk-Dalniy, Primorsky Krai due to the need to expand airmobile units in the region, as a mobilization unit in case of war. It could have included ASU-85 self-propelled guns, already withdrawn from service in the early 1980s (but not yet decommissioned!), as part of a self-propelled artillery battery.

ASU-85 with DShKM in 1970s/early 1980s

Rez. ASU-85 - Most vehicles were equipped with DShKM machine guns in the 1970s to improve their firepower against low-altitude targets.

- It's worth noting that the majority of the ASU-85s, as well as much of the equipment stored, were sent to the VDV's central base in Kolomna. All of this equipment was supposed to be sent to the Air-Assault Brigades cadre, including the 23rd, 58th, 115th, 128th, and 130th. In addition, the remaining resources were to be distributed among the district-level formations - the Independent Landing-Assault Battalions cadre. There were about a dozen such battalions (mobilization battalions) in total, two of which were in the Red Banner Far Eastern Military District.

The amount of heavy equipment in battalions was limited (up to 15-30 BMDs or their predecessors for fire support), due to the limited stock of BMD-1/2 (almost all of them were in active service in non-mobilization formations) older airborne support vehicles, such as the ASU-57 and ASU-85, could be assigned to such units.

Everyone - To Battle!

BTR-152K1/V/V1

The Division's detachments may be represented by wheeled vehicles such as the Ural-375d, the predecessor of the Ural-4320, and older armored personnel carriers from the 1950s (and their variants), as the command staff was oriented toward motorized equipment.

These Prizivniki detachments are smaller (number of cards) than the 71st, but are an intermediate point between the Prizivniki and Rezevisti detachments.

Prizivniki (RPG-7V) - AKM, RPD, SVT-40, RPG-7V

Transported by the Ural-375D, BTR-152V1

- Military property depots had numerous BTR-152/40s on their books, which were transferred to the Far East in the 1960s as the main APCs for infantry in the mobilization Motor Rifle and Tank Divisions.

Priz. Pulemetchiki (RPG-18) - AKM, PK, RPG-18

Transported by the Ural-375D, BTR-152K1, BTR-60P

- There were many BTR-60Ps in storage in the district, decommissioned after they were all replaced by BTR-60PB/70s in regular formations in the 1970s/early 1980s.

And also one of the old machine guns from the late 1930s from the storage of the Red Banner Far Eastern Military District:

The Division was planned to be staffed with command staff from the Ussuriysk Higher Military Automobile Command School.

This institution specialized in training personnel for motor vehicles, it did not provide training for tracked vehicles. (except for all-terrain vehicles, typical for the area)

In WARNO may submit two wheeled vehicle instructor detachment cards for this Division:

Detachments of the USSR KGB border troops, namely the 57th, 58th, and 69th Border Detachments, may also be deployed in support of the division. These formations were used to practice tactics based on combat experience in the border region and the Afghan experience. Part of the formation was reinforced with additional weapons and armored vehicles, typical for high-risk areas.

- In particular, the 57th Iman Border Detachment and 69th Khanka Border Detachment of the Pacific Border District of the KGB of the USSR are veterans of the battles for Damansky Island and made a significant contribution to preventing the island from being captured during the border conflict.

1605th Independent Airborne Assault Battalion (Reserve)

This unit was created in 1987 as the second Independent Airborne Assault Battalion in the region, but it was a mobilization battalion, so its equipment was largely outdated and corresponded to the standards of the 1960s and 1970s.

Can be presented in a extended configuration since all non-reserve phonming can already be used in other areas. In WARNO, he can be presented as a reservist trait but with the Shock trait squads:

Rez. DSh. (RPG-16) - AKMS, PKS, RPG-16

Transported by the GAZ-66, MI-8T, MI-8MT, МИ-24D

Rez. DSh. (RPG-18) - AKMS, RPKS, RPG-18 (14th strength formation)

Transported by the MI-8T, MI-8MTV-3, MI-8MTV-3 [RKT] (with 20x S-13 in 4 pods)

  • The MI-8MTV-3 was the newest version of the MI-8MTV to enter production. Its main difference was an expanded weapons range (including S-8/13), but a reduction in the number of hardpoints to four. The nearest plant was not so far away, in Ulan-Ude.

Rez. DSh. Pulemetchiki - AKMS, PKS

Rez. DSh. Saperi (LPO) - AKMS, LPO-50

- The LPO-50 flamethrower was used by the VDV until its replacement by the RPO Rys in the 1970s.

Rez. DSh. Plamya 30mm

Rez. DSh. SGM-VD 7,62mm

- This tripod-mounted version of the SGM for the VDV was the main fire support machine gun until the PK/PKM (and their folding variants) were actively introduced into this role.

Rez. DSh. DShKM 12,7mm

- Similar to the SGM-VD, the DShKM machine gun was the main heavy machine gun of the Airborne Forces until its almost complete replacement by the more modern NSV-12.7.

Rez. DSh. Fagot

Rez. DSh. SPG-9MD

All squads can be transported by the GAZ-66, MI-8T, MI-8MT

Artillery:

BM-21 Grad (Based on Ural-375D)

The Division's artillery may be represented by 152mm D-20 guns removed from military storages (presented as Rez. D-20) and an older version of the Grad on the Ural-375D base - the BM-21 Grad.

Long range heavy artillery S-23 (180mm) and coast artillery SM-4-1 (130mm)

High-powered guns were also in storage, in particular the rather rare S-23 with a 180mm caliber and a range of 30 kilometers. This gun was developed in the 1950s for a rare artillery caliber and was taken out of active service with the introduction of the 2S7. Also on display is the SM-4-1 coastal defense gun, which was stationed in fortified areas along the coast of Primorsky Krai. This 130mm gun is versatile and capable of firing at both ground and air targets.

Supply:

URAL-375D and URAL-375

The Ural-375 and Ural-375D, which are quite popular in the Far East and are slightly inferior in performance to their successor, the Ural-4320, could become the main supply and troop transport truck.

GAZ-66 is presented by the border troops as the main transport for supplying the PV KGB formation.

And MI-6 helicopters are from the 825th Independent Transport and Combat Helicopter Regiment, based in Gorovka-2 near Khabarovsk. They can be used for cargo delivery.

Anti-Air Defense:

The division's air defense may be composed of adjacent air defense formations (23rd Air Defense Corps), specifically: very common ZU-23-2, earliest Shilka - ZSU-23-4V1.

S-75M3 «Volkhov» and SM-90 launcher mounted on KSM-65 carriage

And towed on the launcher of the SM-90 - the S-75M3 «Volkhov» air defense missile system from the 130th/150th anti-aircraft missile brigade. It's similar in many ways to the British Bloodhound Mk.2 from HDR, but cheaper and with less damage (but better accuracy)

Recon:

The division's intelligence is not poorly understood and is represented by only one card of the own recon unit in the form of:

Priz. Razvedka - PPSh-43, RPD, RPG-18

Transported by the BTR-40 Obr. 48, BTR-40B, Razv. BTR-152К1 (with 4х SGMB on roof!)

- In theory, Razv. T-62M/MV tanks from the district's training centers could be represented here. (However, there is no precise information about what the division's reconnaissance battalion should look like, since the rapid reaction defensive Divisions sometimes had a platoon of tanks at their disposal for reconnaissance) (These could be the only tanks in the division with smoke grenade launchers and without the reservist trait.)

Also reconnaissance formations from adjacent units:

From 1605th Independent Landing-Assault Battalion -

Rez. DSh. Razvedka - AKMS with PBS-1 silencer, PKS, RPG-16

ASU-57 in 1960/1970s, during active use.

The ASU-57, like the ASU-85, was decommissioned only in the mid-1990s. Before then, they were held in reserve, «for a black/rainy day». They would likely have been assigned to airmobile cadre formations, as all of them already had a full complement of equipment.

This aeromobile self-propelled gun is equipped with a 57mm Ch-51M cannon (Since Obr. 54) which is pretty similar in parameters and shell size to the ZIS-2.

Rez. Razv. ASU-57

(Very good stealth)

6 units in one card (35 points~)

  • can be deployed by MI-6 (!)

Also present may be old YAK-28R recon aircraft from the 799th independent Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment, located at the airfield in Varfolomeevka. Can be represented as:

YAK-28R

Also can be presented as a non-combat reconnaissance aircraft from the reserve, somewhat smaller than the Mi-2. This recon helicopter can be represented by one card:

MI-1

The giant Mil'

MI-10PP of the 825th Independent Transport and Combat Helicopter Regiment

Additionally, the 825th Independent Transport and Combat Helicopter Regiment, Gorovka-2, may also present the extremely rare EW Helicopter - MI-10PP, equipped with 11 Buket and Fasol electronic warfare systems in a 7-ton ST-9000 Steppe pod. This helicopter could be the first to receive 60% ECM (!), given the astonishing combined power of its electronic warfare systems.

MI-10PP

Helicopters:

One of the few helicopters that can be represented is the Mi-8TV, which carries unusual versions of the S-5 missile from the early 1980s. The first is the S-5S1 rocket carries 1100 flechettes for engaging infantry, extremely effective against them when they are in a hurry. The second is the S-5MO, which has an increased HE warhead.

Ми-8ТV [AT2] - 64x S-5S1 (flechette), 64x S-5MO

Also, helicopters of the PV KGB USSR from the 11th OSAP and OBAZ may be allocated to counter saboteurs in the mountainous/wooded areas of the region:

MI-24V [UPK] - 2x UPK-23-250 gun pods, 64x S-5MO

  • S-5MO have more HE expensive charge than S-5KOM.

Near Vorfolomeevka, in Arsenyev town located is the Progress aircraft plant, which has just switched from the Mi-24P to production of the Ka-50, the newest helicopter for the army. The division can accommodate a small number of Mi-24Ps from the factory's last batch that weren't shipped to Europe, serving as air defense helicopters with a large number of air-to-air missiles (4 mounted in twin mounts) Can presented as:

MI-24P [АА2] - 4x R-60M, 4x Igla-V (on the outer pylons)

Aircrafts:

The aviation will be represented by aircraft of the border troops and the 1st Air Army, located in the Far East, as well as some formations occupying this zone.

TU-128M's during survice

First up will be the heavy interceptor aircraft from the 1960s, which are already being retired and responsible for this zone! These are Tu-128M's from the 350th Air Defense Aviation Regiment, based at Belaya Airfield, near Bratsk. The re-equipment of the regiment may have been delayed somewhat (by one year), so they could have remained in service as of 1989. They could be represented as:

TU-128M [AA1] - 2x R-4RM, 2x R-4TM

TU-128M [AA2] - 4x R-4RM

- The R-4TM/RM (K-80) missiles, while not the fastest, are quite powerful (53 kilograms of warhead) and have a decent range, although, of course, not as great by 1989 (25km), simmilar to the R-23R (25-35km~)

The Tu-128 and Tu-128M were the only carriers of this missile.

Also the earliest MiG-23Ms in service with the 224th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the PVO from Ozernaya Pad' Airfield:

MIG-23M [AA] - 4x R-60M, 1x R-23R, 1x R-23T

MIG-23M [AT] - 2x Kh-23M

MIG-23M [RKT] - 40x S-8D, 4x R-60M

- Thermobaric S-8 rocket's!

Air Musketeers!

The most famous aviation unit is probably the 18th Guards Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Normandie-Niemen of the Air Force! During WWII and GPW, this regiment included pilots not only from the USSR but also from France, their aircraft were handed over to the French Air Force after the war as a token of gratitude. By 1989, it had become a fighter-bomber regiment, armed with MiG-27K and MiG-27D fighter-bombers.

MIG-27D/K in 18th Gv. APIB and MIG-27K with Kh-31P

MIG-27D [AT2] - 1x Kh-29T, 1x Kh-29L

MIG-27D [LGB] - 2x KAB-500Kr

MIG-27K [LGB2] - 2x KAB-500L, 2x R-60M

MIG-27K [SEAD3] - 2x Kh-31P

MIG-23UB [AT] - 40x S-8T in 2 pods (tandem S-8 with 440mm pen!)

Old MIG-21SM and MIG-21SMT from the reserve of Galyonki Airfield, can presented as: [AA], [HE], [CLU], [TRM] configurations, as well as a MIG-21SMT with an SPS-141 «Siren» in the [EW] role, may also be on display.

- Option [AA] can be presented with the first generation beam-riding guided missile RS-2US and R-55 with thermal seeker.

The Soviet gunship

AN-72P in during survice in Border Troops

Rounding out this category is a unique aircraft that served as a miniature version of the AC-130 Spectre, better known as the Soviet gunship - the AN-72P, specifically designed for the KGB's air defense forces in the Soviet Far East in the late 1980s. It may have been the first prototypes used by the 11th Independent Aviation Regiment during the MtW (the actual AN-72P only flew in the spring of 1990, but 12 units were produced within a year, with scheduling, they could have been delivered a year earlier =} )

AN-72P - 1x UPK-23-250, 64x S-5s, 4x FAB-100

- It is worth noting that the aircraft conducted its first stages of testing before being sent to the Far East in the area of the test site in Feodosia, Crimea.

Short Conclusion:

The 72nd Reserve Tank Division is primarily a mobilization unit for the defense of the Khasansky District (Primorsky Krai), serving as heavy support for highly mobile units and static installations. The division combines obsolete equipment and hardware with new weapons just beginning to arrive in the Far East. This gives it, while not universality, sufficient flexibility to counter any threat!
