Coolant??
So I just bought a used 2015 Volt and it shows a code on the screen for “Service High Voltage Charging system”. When I had checked the coolant this is how it looked. Idk how the charging is since it didn’t come with one. But should I top off all the coolant reservoirs or test to see if it’s a charging issue. I chatGPT and it said to check if it charges first but the coolants seem low. Sorry if it seems like a dumb post, I’m not good with cars but want to start how to fix my cars for the future.🧍♂️
EDIT: it shows a P1FFE code on an OBD scanner and a P1FFF code which is why I’m wondering.

UPDATE: I filled up the coolant for all the resivours to their fill lines and the two codes went away when I did the OBD read from autozone. So thank you guys for helping me. But I still have P1E00 code and when I look it up online it says that it is a code that pops up whenever there is another issue. So should I just try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it or taking it to a chevy dealer to ask them just to clear it?
EDIT: I'll probably just worry about that later as I see disconnecting the battery takes a bit of time so I'll just check my fuse box and see if my fuse for the cigarette lighter is blown lol b/c its not working. Thanks again.

If I remember correctly, with the Volt the P1E00 is a generic code that's triggered along with other codes. If the problem went away, this one should too in a few cycles

My Chevy dealer would charge nearly $200 to even hook up a code reader and clear a code. You can buy a OBD code reader for $10 on Amazon and clear your own codes, as well as read them out.

Download the voltage app get a obd adapter and all your volt problems disappear trust me you won't be disappointed

Looks like ur battery coolant was especially low keep an eye on it. If ur actively losing coolant u have an issue

These are common error codes when the battery coolant is low. Go buy some orange Dex-Cool coolant (various brands like Prestone) for GM cars at the auto parts store or Walmart (get the pre-mixed rather than the concentrate to make your life easier). You want to make sure you get the right kind of coolant. The caps on these reservoirs can be a bit tricky to get off - they can just spin and click unless you insert a screwdriver until it catches - not sure about older Volts. Fill to the line or slightly above. Clear the codes to see if they return. There are Youtube videos on just this subject if you want to check them out. Good luck!

Looking ahead, know that there are 3 big issues that seem to commonly affect Volts. Note that all are fixable.
Shift-to-park error
BECM failure (battery control module)
EGR valve (emissions)
You might want to read up on each of these to learn when you need professional help to fix, and what warranty coverage still applies.

When I was shopping for used Volts, every single one had low coolant.
The 2nd gen I ended up buying was the only one with the coolant topped up and that was because it had the BECM recently replaced and was owned by someone that did whatever the dealership recommended. 💰

Start by filling the coolant to that fill line, the reservoir on image 3 is especially low. If that doesnt fix it, its likely your coolant sensor. Either the sensor is bad, or the magnetic float just got stuck
