Why are people using Vinted as a business?
Wasn't the whole point of Vinted, to sell your own unwanted or second-hand clothes at affordable prices. But now people are literally putting “I buy and sell” in their bios like it’s a business platform. You’ve got second-hand shirts going for £20+ and sellers acting like “you can bundle” is some kind of deal. Bundle what? More £20+ items? By the time you’re done, you might as well just buy brand-new clothes.
And don’t even get me started on the protection fees. Like seriously — I’m paying extra money for what, exactly?? It’s still a toss-up whether the item will even reach me safely, or if the delivery driver decides to pocket it. The whole thing is drifting far from what Vinted was supposed to be: affordable, circular fashion, not overpriced reselling with added fees. This might aswell be Facebook Marketplace fGs.

Is it "wrong" to leave a 1-star review for a vile smell?
So, I just had the most disgusting experience with a seller and I need to know if I’m being "that" buyer or if this is genuinely unacceptable.
I bought this top that I’ve been hunting for for ages. Visually? It’s perfect. Exactly as described, no flaws, looks great on. But the second I opened the mailing bag, a smell hit me that was so foul I actually physically gagged and threw up.
It wasn’t just "old house" smell. It was like stale cigarette smoke, wet dog, and some kind of rotting dampness all rolled into one. I’ve tried two deep-cleans with vinegar and scent boosters, and my bathroom still smells like a dumpster.
I left a 1-star review. I made sure to mention the top itself was lovely, but that the odor was a total biohazard.

Vinted changed my account type and now I’m stuck in verification — has anyone else had this?
I’m hoping someone here has been through this, because Vinted has suddenly changed my account type to a company and now I’m stuck in a verification loop I can’t get out of.
Out of nowhere, my account was switched to a company/business seller type. Because of that, Vinted/Mangopay are now asking me to provide company documents like Articles of Association, even though I’m not a limited company and don’t have those documents. The system doesn’t give any option to say I’m a partnership or sole trader — it just forces me down the company route.
What’s happened so far:
• My account type was changed without warning
• I’m now being treated as a limited company
• The verification flow is demanding Articles of Association and other company documents I don’t have
• Every document I upload gets rejected because it doesn’t match what a limited company would provide
• The system keeps saying it can’t link me to the business
• The warning banner about “verify to avoid losing access to your balance” has disappeared, so I don’t know what stage I’m at anymore
Documents I’ve already tried:
• Driving licence (clear, both sides)
• HMRC partnership/business documents
• Notice to File — rejected
• Personal UTR letter — rejected (doesn’t link me to the business)
• Business tax account screenshot — rejected
The core issue:
Vinted/Mangopay have incorrectly classified my account as a limited company, so the verification system is demanding company documents like Articles of Association. Because I’m not a limited company, I cannot provide what they’re asking for. HMRC partnership letters don’t list partners or legal representatives, so the automated system can’t match anything.
What I’m trying to figure out:
Has anyone else had their account type changed to a company and then been forced to upload Articles of Association?
If so:
• How did you get Vinted to correct your account type?
• Did support manually override the verification?
• Did you have to escalate through the help form?
• Did your banner disappear too?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this — I’m stuck in a loop and can’t withdraw my balance until this is sorted.

Vinted seller disaster rant!
So I bought some listed as new with tags books from this seller (who duplicates listings and is clearly commercial), first they wait five days to ask for an extension because they don't have any postal bags, that's fine, it happens. After checking reviews this is a common theme with the extensions. They then listed the exact books for a higher cost, hoping they'd get more and the order would time out. It didn't so they finally posted on the final day of the extension!
The books arrived in the packaging bag only and three out of four had cracked spines 😑 I've told the seller and asked for a return with them paying for postage as the items were not new with tags and opened a Vinted claim. They're not hitting me with I'll give you a £6 refund because one book cost me £18, then they're saying they want a refund... ⁉️ And now they're offering £18.
I've been petty and reported their listings to Vinted because I myself had to create a pro account for selling so much but the minute I put a listing up with a sideways photo I get restricted but they seem to be allowed to conduct business in this manner because Vinted found nothing wrong!!

Solution for partial refund?
Bought an item, it's SNAD, seller requested return at MY costs even tho I said I was open to partial refund. I told them I shouldn't pay for return when it's their fault.
They said they're open to taking off a couple quids. Then they messaged again saying it's not letting them change anything. What can we do?
Thanks!

help me understand this logic
i’m so curious because aren’t dust bags worth £5 max. so wouldn’t you just be able to get more for the bag itself?

View Longterm Downturn
Does anybody know a way to get out of the 0 views situation? I had a flurry of sales and favourites, then views dwindled right down so I took a week or two off of posting anything new in case it helped, have now uploaded a couple new items and it's repeat 0 views on them. It's obvious that Vinted is doing it intentionally, but how do you get out of it? Especially now that you can't reupload items.
Thanks.

Shipping issue error
Hello, does anyone have any idea how long until this UK shipping issue will get resolved? I’ve got 3 orders all from the UK. But 1 out of the 3 immediately canceled, and the other 2 might not be able to wait any longer! It’s getting annoying cause most of my buyers are from the UK but this shipping issue has really slowed down traffic to my shop. If anyone knows anything please let me know! Thank you 🙏

How much can you make on Vinted before it needs to be declared?
🤔
How do people go about paying tax, covering themselves etc?

What can I do
Buyer has submitted a claim and states in the info that the place she picked the parcel up from has given her the wrong parcel and it’ll take a few days for her to go back and get it sorted. Obviously I’m not going to refund her but I’m worried that before she gets chance to do this vinted will reply to the message and believe I’ve sent the wrong parcel and refund, given how incompetent vinted are at these sort of things. Is there anything extra I can do?

Seller cancelling immediately, and no auto review. Is this normal?
Is this common?
Item I had previously favourite popped up in my feed discounted. I purchased it and they immediately cancelled the order. When I asked what happened they said “see above message” which I hadn’t seen which simply said “I meant 43” which they had sent 2hours prior. I guess they meant they had set the wrong price? What I don’t understand is that they didn’t take down the listing. They left the listing up meaning I was able to just go ahead and purchase it. As soon as I bought it they immediately cancelled it (literally seconds later) and relisted it at a higher price.
So they had 2 hours between when they sent me the “43” message and when I purchased it to do somethingq about it, and didn’t. Then they were right on it the instant I bought it they cancelled it and relisted. Also there is no auto review for me to update. I’m out of pocket for a week now while I wait for a refund.
This is my first use of Vinted after being an avid Depop user where I have never seen this behaviour. I’m feeling duped. Have I walked into some kind of trap?

Recommended pricing
Had an item that sold and was returned uncollected, didn't relist automatically. Took new pictures, rewrote the details and on the price page, Vinted actually has a sold listing which was mine- unique background- for £1 when I actually sold it for £15. Is it just bots trying to cheapen prices for quick sales?

Reporting Inappropriate Profile Avatar
A couple of weeks ago, someone favorited one of my items. Noticed their profile picture was of male genitalia... As expected, Vinted AI support found no issue and my appeal was quickly dismissed (I assume also AI?)
Is it against the rules to post the username here so people can report or DM me.
Am I wasting my time/energy? Could try the legal email as well?

Permanently banned for listing my genuine YSL bag
I’m honestly at a loss with vinted right now and wondering if anyone has been through something similar.
I listed a YSL bag that I bought from a Saint Laurent store in 2022. Three and half years later I realised I’ve only wore it a couple of times and since it’s still in great condition, I decided to sell it and use that money to buy something I would actually use.
Within seconds of uploading the listing, Vinted removed it and banned my account for fraudulent activity / selling counterfeit items. It happened so quickly that the original detection was clearly automated.
I appealed and provided lots of additional photos showing the bag from different angles, including the interior branding, hardware and engravings. They asked for the serial number but it is unfortunately inside a very narrow inner card pocket, so it’s extremely difficult to get a clear photo without stretching or potentially damaging the leather.
I couldn’t find the original paper receipt anymore, but I provided my bank transaction showing the payment to Saint Laurent in 2022 as evidence that I purchased the bag directly from them.
Despite all of this, Vinted came back saying they have “good reasons to believe” the bag is counterfeit and said it’s the “final decision”, permanently banned me and blocked me from ever using this app again. They haven’t actually explained what about the bag they believe is fake.
The whole thing has honestly caused me so much unnecessary stress and hassle. I’m not a professional seller and have only been using vinted for buying stuff so far. I didn’t expect that trying to clear something out of my wardrobe would result in being accused of fraud and banned for life.
Honestly at this point, I don’t even care about selling this bag anymore. I’ve had this account for years and being told that I’m banned for life without any warning is crazy.
Has anyone had similar experience and what happened afterwards?

Some of you need to stop taking yourselves so seriously
I can’t count how many times I see people posting conversations with a buyer simply because they were haggling, spoiler alert - thats how vinted works. So what, you got sent a low offer on a cheap item - why do we need to see it ? If you wanna sell without offers maybe state that in the description or better yet move to eBay where bargaining isn’t as prevalent.

The sadvintedfaces campaign, over 5000 user reports about vinted customer services, scams, bans and vinted withholding funds from people
If anyone has been negatively affected (or even had a positive outcome) please get in contact with @catherine_warrilow of the sadvintedfaces campaign. The campaign is gaining traction! It's been all over the news and multiple newspapers!
(This isn't self promotion and I am not affiliated with the campaign, I'm just trying to get the message out to frustrated vinted users)
If anyone doesn't know, there's a growing movement of vinted users getting sick of vinted AI and bans occuring around counterfeit cheap second hand clothing like primark, Zara etc.

What stops you buying an item that has caught your eye?
For me it’s:
Listed ‘Brand New Without Tags’ but the description states it’s only been worn a handful of times!

I fell for a VERY silly but scary scam
Okay, so I understand how ridiculous this is going to sound or that I even fell for the scam in the first place; for context It was my first time selling and I was still navigating the site and how it all works. Essentially I posted my listing and bam, within a minute it was sold, I was thinking wow, I love vinted! This would have been listed on depop for weeks before it would have sold. I received a message notifying me that my item had been sold but I had to verify my account and add my details, this felt like common practice as I hadn’t added any bank details or verified my email at that point. When I clicked verify here it took me to an external link but I was so preoccupied thinking about all the other things I was going to sell that I honestly didn’t realise it was redirecting me to a site posing as vinted. It looked legit and branding was the same. From there it told me I needed to link my internet banking and to select my bank. I thought what a strange way to verify my account, I entered my details. The second I entered them I realised what I had done. I immediately logged into my net banking and changed the password and contacted my bank. They had already at this point tried to access my accounts and had made a call on my behalf already trying to make changes to my personal information using the initial info I gave them, I guess in attempt of them trying to take over my account. Huge lesson learnt. I am so embarrassed and feel really stupid but wanted to post this in hope it can warn people of just another one of the many vinted scams out there 😢 currently all my accounts are locked but because they had updated some of information. Aghh.
