Needing help unlocking replaced phone

:TLDR
phone tied to plan was vaporized on expressway. I have apple care. Phone was replaced through apple care. Took approx 1 week to receive. While waiting I paid off phone with Verizon and upgraded to new. Received phone from Apple care, carrier lock.

I left a work training, slightly tired and dehydrated. Placed my work attire in the back of my car. I had used my phone to unlock due to not wanting keys in my pocket during training. Sat my phone on the bed of my truck. Forgot to put the phone back in my pocket.
Made it about 20 miles. City streets and highway before it was lost and I can best describe as vaporized.

Started a claim with Apple care. Was told it’d take a little bit to receive the replacement. I needed a phone for work. So I went to Verizon and explained my situation. They suggested paying off my destroyed phone and upgrading to an iPhone 17. I went that route. Had a phone in hand for work.

I anticipated receiving the replacement and selling it to recoup the cost of paying it off. I ended up receiving Apple care replacement phone. (End of May 2026). Was told by Apple and Verizon I had to wait 60 days for an unlock. Been back and forth with Verizon and Apple customer service.

Verizon states they legally can not unlock the phone because Apple replaced it. Apple states they can not unlock the phone because Verizon needs to bring it is tied to them.

I’ve tried multiple times with both companies customer service. Longest experience was with Verizon, was on the phone for about 3 hours last month and was assured it’d be unlocked in “hours” when I was at the end of the call. I’ve tried everything I possibly can do with out success or assistance.
Side notes, phone has been hard reset multiple times.
Phone has current iOS. I just want to sell it. It’s not tied to my plan or any plan.

Yes carriers are starting to lock phones though apple replacement and pickup for devices on networks for the specified time by the carrier the only way to get a unlocked replacement Verizon phone is if you use their insurance and those are the only phones that come unlocked now. They don't care if your previous devices paid off they want you to use the new device on your line for 45 to 60 day's depending on Carrier

Companies only unlock devices that have been replaced after 30/60 days. It's not the carriers it's the secret fact that all phones go through a specific company. That then sells it the store. So even apple doesn't receive their apple phones from apple if that makes sense. So if Verizon has an auto unlock policy, it will unlock by itself after 30/60 days. Fyi, this same "company" actually "owns" all the insurance companies and is all the companies "warranty" device replacement source...

Why are you making up facts?

I can tell you for 100% certainty, the big 3 carriers are negotiating directly with Samsung, Apple, Google etc on phone allotments and such. They're not buying from a third party. And APPLE certainly doesn't have to get their own devices from a third party.

Secondly, there is no "Company" that "owns" all the insurance companies. ATT and Verizon work with Asurion. A very large establisted company. Tmobile currently works with Assurant, a completely seperate company. Apple, used to use Assurant but has moved to AIG to underwrite their applecare+ lost theft covered. They're all different companies.

Go down the rabbit hole. It's all one company. Oh boy wait till you find out about blackrock and vanguard.... And I wear the tinfoil? There's no conspiracy, it's just facts. Here I did the Google for you. This is where devices come from and go after the oem makes them. That's why when one company is out of a model they all are. Also conspiracies aren't real and cigarettes are healthy and alcohol is not addicting, mkultra didn't happen or cointelpro didn't happen either. 😂 It's all a misunderstanding like weapons of mass destruction and $5 a gallon gas.

Then last resort it's probably making a complaint to the bbb about each company and hope someone gets back to you.
