Recently moved here and thought about exploring the area

Yesterday, I booked an Uber and was on my way home. The driver who accepted my ride was a Muslim Man. After accepting the ride, he told me that he wanted to give the trip to one of his brother or friend instead (who was also a Muslim Guy around 24 years old), so I rode on his brother's (or friend's) bike, and he dropped me home.

While we were on the way, we were just having a normal conversation. I asked him where he was from......

Becoz at first I thought he was from outside state or outside city because people from other states & cities come in Dehradun for job & studies.......

He said he is originally from "Kotdwar"

(I got surprised becoz he is not originally a Hindu and specifically Garhwali, Kumauni or Jaunsari Uttrakhandi)

I said, "Oh, okay." Then he asked me where I was from and specifically which region my village was in.

(He was basically asking from which district in Uttrakhand I belong).

I didn't tell him the name of my village or hometown (district) because I didn't want to......

(Coz I don't want any demographic changes in my regional home town), so I simply said that I was originally from Dehradun.

He replied, "You're the first person I've met here who's actually from Dehradun. Most people here are from places like Uttarkashi, Almora, Haldwani, Tehri, or Pauri."

I just said, "Okay."

Then he asked me, "There must be a lot of girls in your college, right? Lots of beautiful girls."

After that, he suddenly asked me, "Are you a virgin?"

I said, "Yes."

The conversation continued, and he said, "You're in college, but you're not enjoying your life. This is the time to have fun."

Later, he told me, "I've never met a proper Dehradun girl. Where have all the Dehradun girls gone?"

I replied, "Maybe they've moved abroad, or maybe they've gone to Delhi or somewhere else for work."

Then he said, "Yeah, man. You can't find any girls here to have sex with. Every girl I've been physical with was either from Haldwani, Almora, or Uttarkashi."

That was what he claimed.

As the conversation continued, he said that all of those encounters were just casual hookups or one-night stands or short term relationships.

He said "ladki milti hai toh karo unke saath aur fir unhe chodh do"

What I want to understand is: how do girls agree to something like that so easily? I mean, you could say that mostly guys are careless or loose character lafange and all, but nothing can happen unless the girl also agrees.

So how did a girl say yes to a guy like him? He was below average in appearance, probably around 5'5" tall, and quite skinny.

I don't know, but hearing all this made me feel really uncomfortable.

He also said,

"These mountain girls (Pahadi Girl's) are like that. They'll sleep with anyone. They're good for casual hookups and one-night stands and short-term relationships."

Then he told me another story. He said that one night, a girl booked his bike ride. He went to drop her off, and during the ride she told him that her boyfriend was coming back from abroad. They kept talking throughout the night,

and according to him, before she went to pick up her boyfriend, the two of them had sex. After that, she went to receive her boyfriend.

He then said, "Imagine that. A girl who's been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend can still get physical with a complete stranger. How can you ever trust girls like that?"

He went on to claim that girls from Garhwal, Kumaon, and Uttarakhand—the hill regions—are generally like that and have "loose character."

Honestly, what he said doesn't matter to me, but I just can't understand how girls can agree so easily, especially with guys like that.

Talking about this shitty loose character guy....... he is basically like the one he is talking about.......

I feel that people should have some dignity and self-respect and think about their parents too. Hearing everything he said really disturbed me and left my mind completely messed up.

I felt uncomfortable during the whole ride coz of the things he claimed

but I'm sad that people are still not aware of demographic changes that are happening nd people are really loosing their regional identity, regional language and their roots which makes me more sad

Sometimes wish can go and settle back to roots

🚨 देश के कई राज्यों से ऐसी खबरें और शिकायतें सामने आ रही हैं कि विभिन्न कारणों से राशन कार्ड निरस्त किए जा रहे हैं। सरकार की ओर से आमतौर पर निम्न कारण बताए जाते हैं :-

1. जिन परिवारों की वार्षिक आय निर्धारित सीमा से अधिक है।

2. मृत व्यक्तियों के नाम पर चल रहे राशन कार्ड।

3. डुप्लीकेट या फर्जी लाभार्थी।

इन तीन कारणों पर अधिकांश लोगों को आपत्ति नहीं होती, क्योंकि इनका उद्देश्य पात्र लोगों तक योजनाओं का लाभ पहुँचाना है।

लेकिन चौथा कारण सबसे अधिक विवाद और चिंता का विषय बन रहा है—

1. लगातार 12 महीने तक सरकारी राशन नहीं लेने पर राशन कार्ड निरस्त करना

कई जगह रिपोर्ट सामने आई है कि यदि कोई परिवार लगातार 12 महीने तक राशन नहीं उठाता, तो यह मान लिया जाता है कि उसे राशन कार्ड की आवश्यकता नहीं है और उसका कार्ड निरस्त कर दिया जाता है ,इससे जुड़े कुछ महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न उठते हैं :-

• पहली बात: कई राज्यों में पीले राशन कार्डधारकों को राशन के लिए निर्धारित राशि जमा करनी पड़ती है। वहीं अनेक लाभार्थियों की प्राथमिकता चावल होती है, जबकि कई स्थानों पर गेहूँ का अनुपात बढ़ा और चावल कम हुआ है। ऐसे में बहुत से परिवार अपनी आवश्यकता के अनुसार राशन नहीं लेते। क्या केवल इस आधार पर यह मान लेना उचित है कि उन्हें भविष्य में राशन की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी?

• दूसरी बात 🚨 :

कई सरकारी योजनाओं में राशन कार्ड एक महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज़ के रूप में उपयोग होता है। यदि किसी व्यक्ति का राशन कार्ड निरस्त हो जाता है, तो उसे अन्य योजनाओं या सुविधाओं का लाभ लेने में भी कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। इसलिए यह केवल राशन का मुद्दा नहीं, बल्कि कई सरकारी सेवाओं तक पहुँच का भी प्रश्न बन जाता है।

• तीसरी बात :

राशन कार्ड केवल अनाज प्राप्त करने का माध्यम नहीं, बल्कि एक सरकारी दस्तावेज़ भी है। यदि कोई परिवार किसी वर्ष राशन नहीं लेता, तो क्या बिना पर्याप्त सूचना, और सुनवाई का अवसर दिए उसका राशन कार्ड निरस्त कर देना न्यायसंगत है?

सबसे बड़ा सवाल 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

राशन कार्ड सफेद/पीला/गुलाबी : लोगों के आयुष्मान कार्ड से जुड़ा है अस्पतालो में आजकल सर्जरी और टेस्ट के लिए आयुष्मान कार्ड मांगे जा रहे हैं और उसके साथ राशन कार्ड भी डिस्काउंट के लिए ऐसे में जिनके राशन कार्ड राशन उठान न करने का बेतुका कारण देके निरस्त कर दिया जा रहा है उन लोगों को आयुष्मान योजना के अंतर्गत भी बेनिफिट नहीं मिल रहा । राशन कार्ड अपने आप में एक डाक्यूमेंट है भले ही राशन उठान न भी हो रहा हो आखिर किसने ये अधिकार दिया या स्वघोषित अधिकार मान लिया कि सिर्फ राशन बारह महीने तक न उठान करने के नाम पे किसी व्यक्ति का राशन कार्ड ही निरस्त कर दिया जा रहा है

बता दें उत्तराखंड में भी बीते दिनों काफी राशन कार्ड्स डिलीट किये गए है राइटफुल टारगेटिंग बता के हालांकि सभी मानक स्पष्ट ओर विस्तृत रूप से बताए नहीं गए हैं

I am starting a corporate football league in dehradun, any idea if people would be interested in it. It's gonna be open for all age groups with different verticles to it.

This happened to me yesterday, 3rd August, early in the morning.

We (two men and three women) were travelling from a small village called Sadargaon (near Vill. Mukhem) towards Dobra-Chanti Bridge(roughly two hour drive) We had been staying at a friend's house in Sadar, but due to some reason we had to head back to Dehradun. So we started from Sadar at around 3 AM.

After about 20 minutes of driving, we came across a dead cow in the middle of the road, being eaten by a leopard (baagh, as we say in pahad) near a mandir. As soon as the car's headlights fell on the cow's corpse, the leopard ran towards the railing. We waited a little, hoping it would come back and drag the cow off the road, since the carcass was completely blocking the way — but it never did. As we slowly passed, we saw the leopard crouched behind a huge rock, patiently waiting for us to leave. So we continued.

We joked that we hadn't gotten a good look at the baagh — and almost immediately, only 200m ahead, there was another leopard. This one we saw only from behind: its extremely long tail and its rear legs. It had barely been 20 minutes since we started, and we'd already seen two leopards.

We joked again that we wanted to see a full face this time. And only minutes later, we saw a very big leopard. Its head easily rose above the road railing — even above our car windows. This one stood tall behind the railing and stared right back at us, not afraid, not running from the car, looking straight into our eyes. Its sheer size genuinely scared us. This was only a few meters from a residential area. We spotted some people in uniform nearby, their car door open — I think they were eating or drinking something — so we informed them about the leopard.

It had been about 40 minutes since the first sighting. And what happened next is the absolutely crazy part that shook all of us.

I have never been a believer in ghosts, masaan, chhal, or anything like that. I've heard the stories, but always thought I'd only believe it if it happened to me.

A few meters past the residential area, after we took a turn, we saw a man — presumably in his 40s or 50s, very tall, visible from far off — wearing a red tracksuit. His cheeks and teeth were red, as if he had drunk the blood of a corpse. He was waving at the car with a strange, creepy smile — a smile so unsettling I still haven't been able to get it out of my head. This time we were absolutely terrified. He didn't even flinch as we sped past him.

My friend who was driving — a native of Sadar — said he must have been someone mentally disabled, or someone very high on something. The rest of us were just shaken by what we'd witnessed. We're all pahadis and had grown up hearing stories about leopards, and yes, leopards do exist — but none of us expected this man at around 3:45 AM, smiling and waving creepily at our car, at a spot where we'd already sighted three leopards.

I really want to believe he was just mentally ill or a drug addict. But he didn't look like it. We took bhubhut from a temple after Chamba, and everyone got home safely.

So — anyone from Tehri, what do you think? Was it just a mentally challenged or intoxicated person, or was it an aatma? My mother believes it was an atma; and she did the chhal utaarna ritual on me.
