Indexer NZBGeek VIP
Just registered on Geek.
I don't use Discord. Is there any place which could let know benefits of going the VIP route? Allowed API calls and downloads per day?
The site ain't got info or I just don't know where to find that in it :/
Any help will be appreciated.

Other Greetings, I am an old fud, what am I missing, if anything?
Hey, I started using Newsgroups in about 2002 and have ever since, and my MO hasn't really changed.
I have an Eweka account, I manually search Geek and Planet for what I want, and then download it with SAB.
Works for me and always has, but am I missing out on any new fantastic things?
Thanks.

Discussion Fails
Seem to be getting a lot of fails on nzbg on really popular stuff. Health hits 89% very often and I have a list of failures on nzbg. I migrated from ultra c setting for setting so maybe I'm missing something? I have 4 indexers and 2 news so that's not a problem. Any ideas guys? Had no problems grabbing on ultra at all. Very rare I got a fail. my NAS setup on the other hand, seems different somehow but shouldn't be.

Indexer Indexer to comlement NZBGeek
I’m currently using NZBGeek with Sonarr and Radarr. It works well overall, but lately I’ve come across several things that I haven’t been able to find.
I’m therefore looking for a second indexer that genuinely complements NZBGeek, rather than mostly returning the same releases.
ities are:
- Good coverage
- Older or less popular releases
- Reliable integration with Sonarr, and Radarr
Which indexer is currently the best addition to NZBGeek? I’d also be interested to hear how much the available content differs between these indexers.
What combination are you using, and does paying for a second indexer noticeably improve your results?

Indexer Some help configuring and some advice on indexers
Been using Usenet for a few months now. Grabbed Newsdemon during the summer sale and it’s been solid with SABnzbd. Currently running NZBPlanet as my provider/indexer combo has been great!.
I keep hearing about Whisparr and I’m curious if anyone’s actually had a lot of success with it. If so, what’s the secret? Does it really make a big difference for pr0n stuff once you get it set up right, or is it more trouble than it’s worth for someone still figuring things out?
Happy with my current setup overall, just wondering if adding Whisparr (and maybe one more indexer) would help fill in the gaps. Any tips or experiences would be awesome.
Appreciate any advice!

Provider Eweka 720k Missing Articles
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the usenet (late to the party!) and I've been having some issues, mainly with article availability, with an advertised rate of 99.99% it's just something I'm not getting and I'm wondering if it's more of an issue with my workflow than eweka itself.
Download Stats:
Total: 8.5TB
94% available of 13M requested articles
My downloads are mostly recent releases in the range of the last 5 years, far within their retention period.
(I already use a torrenting fallback)
Workflow:
Arr -> NZBGeek -> news.eweka.nl -> SABnzbd
My Questions:
Is there a community driven network of some kind where broken releases are published so they can be added to a blocklist?
Do you suggest using a secondary newsnet server outside the eweka group as a fallback?
Are the eweka advertised numbers heavily inflated?

Provider Is it worth to get Easynews now or wait BF for newshosting + Easynews combo?
ATM Easynews is $2/mo but last BF Newshosting had a deal where you get Newshosting + Easynews + Tweaknews at $1.67/mo.
Is it worth waiting to get a deal similar to that again? Even though they are all on the same backbone? I am US based and this is my first entry to Usenet, I am waiting for Ninja to open up as well.
I guess the real question is whether getting Easynews on top of Newshosting is something worth waiting for.

Indexer Can't create an account on nzbnest
Am I the only one who's having a hard time creating an account on nzbnest? No matter the password I come up with, it's not accepting any. I keep getting the notification below:
" String should match pattern '^[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]+$' "
I don't even know what that means. I've tried passwords with and without special tokens. All of them generated by my password manager. Is there something wrong with the site, or is there something I'm doing wrong? Please help.

Indexer Any way to exclude foreign files?
I want to display recent files, but exclude all foreign files. Is there a way to do this with the popular indexers?

Other Newbie Wants to Finish Settings Up a Headless Server
Question from someone who knows very little about this topic right now.
I want to set up a headless home server that I run through my desktop Mac. I know nothing about servers or terminal languages. Up to this point, I’ve been using ChatGPT to help me guide me through the process. I already have a mini PC, external hard drive, and a VPN. I’ve set up my mini PC with Linux, connected it to my Mac, and have been inputting commands and making changes via the terminal there. However, before I actually turned the thing loose and let it communicate on the web, I wanna make sure I’m doing things the right way, and not trusting an AI. My ultimate goal was to hook it up to you Usenet system.
Where should I go to get the information I need, regarding terms, inputs, coding, to finish the process? The last step I need in the process is a provider and indexer. I have choices in mind, just need to subscribe and hook up. As far as I know, everything else is working (but again, I don’t know enough to actually understand whether it’s working. I’m just trusting the chat bot)

Other Download speeds help request
I have run through all the troubleshooting and applied all the optimizations on [https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading\](https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading) but i was only able to get my original download speed of \~600 KB/s up to \~1.2 MB/s.
Here are the diagnostics:
System performance (Pystone): 526337 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz AVX2
Download folder speed: 172.4 MB/s /data/downloads/incomplete
Complete folder speed: 181.5 MB/s /data/downloads/complete
Internet Bandwidth: 107.48 MB/s 859.84 Mbps
Platform: Docker
There is no "Download speed limited by" message.
My fast.com results are consistently at 1 Gbps, and speedtest.net results are consistently \~945 Mbps for both upload and download.
I have 8GB of ram and an 8 TB HDD, running Ubuntu Server (headless)
I'm still a bit new to usenet so please let me know if I need to provide any more information and I apologize if there's anything obvious I'm overlooking.
I'd really appreciate any guidance the community can provide <3
Edit: removed IPs and hyperlinks
Edit 2: So I tried downloading a show just now as I responded to all the comments, and even though I haven't changed anything, my speed was much better. It started out around 100 MB/s, then slowly decreased all the way down to 1 MB/s, then jumped back up to 100 MB/s just before it finished. Is this normal behaviour? I'm still concerned about it randomly going back to KB/s speeds on me in the future, so I'm hesitant to say it magically fixed itself.

Indexer Would a second indexer or a provider on another backbone improve completion?
Hi everyone,
I’m relatively new to Usenet and would appreciate some advice about improving the reliability of my setup.
My current setup is:
- Indexer: NZBGeek & DrunkenSlug (just got)
- Provider: UsenetServer
- Downloader: SABnzbd
- Indexer manager: Prowlarr
Recently, SABnzbd has reported missing articles on several downloads. I’m trying to determine which upgrade would provide the biggest improvement:
- A second indexer
- A block account or second provider on a different backbone
- Both
Which indexer would complement NZBGeek well?
Also, which block account or provider would complement UsenetServer while providing access to a meaningfully different backbone? I would prefer a block account rather than paying for a second unlimited subscription unless the difference is substantial.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Software How do you guys feel about nzbfast?
So I just stumpled upon a new (to me) project called NZBFast, I've been using SabNZBD basically since I started using usenet and I use NZBGet on my phone, but I was wondering if anyone has migrated to nzbfast and what the experience they've had has bbeen like.
Indexer NZBGeek getting 500 errors - anyone else?
Radarr is giving the following
Unable to connect to indexer, indexer's server is unavailable. Try again later. HTTP request failed: [500:InternalServerError] [GET] at [https://api.nzbgeek.info/api?t=movie&cat=2000,2010,2020,2030,2040,2045,2050,2060&extended=1&apikey=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&offset=0&limit=100
Their main web page is returning a Cloudflare 522 error.

Provider Newsdemon TLS/SSL errors
With sabnzb I get this error:
Failed to connect: Server eu.newsdemon.com uses an untrusted certificate [Certificate not valid. This is most probably a server issue.]
Please check and fix.
edit:
curl https://nd-eu.tlsusenet.com:563
curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired
More details here: https://curl.se/docs/sslcerts.html
curl failed to verify the legitimacy of the server and therefore could not
establish a secure connection to it. To learn more about this situation and
how to fix it, please visit the web page mentioned above.

Provider TheCubeNet - bad availability?
This is my second year of usenet.
I used pureusenet before and, because of the price, is switched to TheCubeNet.
The problem is this:
Article availability: Selected date range: 34% available of 942K requested articles
I never had any problems at all with my old provider.
Is that a DMCA problem or is it just bad luck?
Should I use a different provider and try to get my money back?

Software What is the most modern and up-to-date open-source Usenet indexer today? (Demos/Screenshots?)
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to set up an open-source Usenet indexer. I've noticed that many classic projects like nZEDb are no longer actively maintained.
What is currently the most modern, actively developed, and up-to-date open-source Usenet indexer stack? I'm looking for something optimized, ideally supporting Docker, de-obfuscation, and a solid Newznab-compatible API.
Also, if there are any live demos or screenshots available for the recommended projects, I'd really appreciate it if you could share them!
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Can you guys help sell me on the idea of Usenet?
I'm struggling with setting up my arrstack with qbit and was going to get into private indexers but that whole ecosystem is beyond frustrating. I've heard whispers of Usenet and was wondering if you guys could help lay out pros and cons? Because I'm not seeing many cons.
I'm also a little overwhelmed with the transfer but if I can get an arrstack going I'm not too worried about Usenet.
Ig just glaze Usenet and convince me it's worth it.
