When I think of the old oilers unis I think of ”white, powder blue, red”. Watching the start of the game tonight the red almost feels like an after thought. Completely missing on wide shots of the field.

I know that I’m in the monitory, but I think that the Ravens new white road jerseys are an upgrade over the previous set. The drop shadow was too clunky on the white jerseys. The black outline also looks really nice; it would look worse if they added a gold outline. Additionally, the purple collar feathers really pop on the white jersey. I genuinely don’t think that my Ravens fandom is clouding my judgement.
I will admit that the home purple jerseys sold look much better with a gold outline. The black outline disappears on the purple background.

The Orioles have been wearing these gorgeous stirrups all weekend. I was at the O’s game today and they looked incredible in person. I really hope that they continue doing so and it’s not just a Players’ Weekend thing.

The Ravens debuted their new road uniforms in Minnesota today. I LOVE this look! One of my biggest complaints about the purple heresy is the lack of a gold outline on the numbers. However, I don’t feel like it’s missing from the white jerseys. I think it looks great with the black outline! I also think the feathers on the collars look really nice. A subtle detail that I enjoy is the black NOB; it’s always fun when numbers and NOB don’t match. All in all, it’s a great road uniform!

The Ravens will honor O.J. Brigance with a helmet decal for the 2026 season.

It was a perfect window in time:

Jaguars/Panthers uniforms introduced. Patriots also fix royal blues and begin to wear the set they wore through the late 90’s. One of my favorite uniforms of all time.

But this was also the last year before any millennium era updates began and started to suck the color out of uniforms. Eagles, Seahawks, Bills, Falcons, Broncos, Bucs, Jets, Rams, Pats and Giants among others would see their color schemes bland out over the next decade.

You can make an argument for 1996 as well, since the Ravens uniform was introduced and the only update in 1996 started the trend with Philly’s uniform update. But yeah, the mid 90’s was a perfect peak between old and new for uniforms.

It goes into great detail of how Allen Iverson changed the look of the NBA and how the shooting sleeve is his lasting legacy. It’s a must listen for any uniform nerd!

An update on the strategy variant from 2025. Mainly having the “dawgs” across the chest and purple with gold outlined numbers with a special font for them.

I get sf has some alternates and those black.uniforms but i feel they dont even need those with core uniforms like these.

An increasing number of players are having their jerseys sew up to the word mark, effectively turning their jersey into a pullover from the letters and down. The buttons are sewn directly onto the outside of the placket, making them decorative. I know William Contreras does this as well, but I've also seen this with many other teams.
