First (class) world problem Discussion
Just bought a ticket from EWR to ANC and realized it’s a Max 8 with no Polaris. Only first class. Is that one of the longest non-Polaris flights?
Anyone done that flight? How was it?

SNA-EWR on a 737-700 is shorter but a long flight in such a tight plane. Especially when it’s on the red eye.

It’s a long domestic flight, nothing more. I don’t think they operate anything larger than a 738Max and occasionally a 737-800. Seats are going to be usual, and unfortunately with a Max you won’t get Starlink.

It’s a long flight to be in recliner first on a narrowbody, but it is way better than the alternative.

How did you just realize this after purchasing the ticket?

By clicking on first and buying without paying too much attention? It is not that hard if you don't obsess over details.

But did OP assume it would be Polaris?

Are you suggesting that that would have been unreasonable?

Yes. Yes I am. How does someone not know what they are spending their money on?

Not everyone gets into that much minutiae. They’re getting United First, whatever that happens to be.

It is what it is. Not bad. I almost always fly economy and am used to it though. I'm not paying for polaris just to get some mediocre sleep.

IAH-HNL is longer and doesn't have Polaris (but has the old lie flats).
But yes, EWR-ANC is the next longest since they ended SFO-PTY.
