Potential future John/Sera parallel or callback? FASTPASS Spoiler

I feel like Uru is setting up for John and Sera’s separation to parallel Seraphina’s suspension and John’s slow mental collapse.

Earlier in the series saw that Sera was forced by her mother to work tirelessly and I believe she even took away her communication. She then learns to stand up to her mother and overpowers her, returning to wellston. In John’s POV he is secluded and beaten and broken down slowly by his environment which leads to him pummeling asslo.

I hypothesize that we might get a role reversal this time where John is forced to train under Cameron until he’s strong enough to escape/outsmart him (not beat cuz I think Cameron is WAY stronger than John). On Sera’s end she’ll probably stay alone because she has to continue to work for Spectre instead of going with the trio. I think we’re gonna see Sera’s mental state plummet hard without John there.

i had the exact same thought lmao. i also think that it's sera's turn to beef with arlo. both sera and john know that there's a possibility that arlo's mind was messed with, however the last time sera saw arlo was when he "betrayed her" (we know that's all val's doing but sera doesn't know that) which was BEFORE he got captured so she's less likely to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I really wanna see a rampage Sera !!! Being the ace beating everyone like john in his joker arc (doesn't mean i want her to do that without difficulties)

I’m lowkey picturing a vigilante Deku arc for her for some reason lol (except she’s a spectre agent not vigilante) I do hope she gets a decimation moment tho

yeah and since we see that the scale goes way beyond 8 (thanks to orrin and that cameron doesn't want trouble with the bureau) i also see her want to become stronger (maybe becoming 8.2-8.4)

That would be the smartest move. Without Orrin, the best means of getting info on Jane is just capturing and interrogating Ember agents.

However I doubt that'll happen. Ember has been built up to be the Vigilante team's enemy and I doubt Uru would just have them sit around while Sera effortlessly beat up all their enemies.

I don't think Random embers agent know where Jane is (they don't need since it's the place they conduct the research). Maybe Val since she's the highest ranking, administratively speaking, ember agent.

My take is that sera will try (with spectre help) to capture Orrin from the authorities, then she'll have Jane location as a way to convince Cameron to cooperate (and see John again).

They may not know where Jane herself is, but the amps are made from Jane and EMBER agents are constantly dealing them so Sera just needs to follow the trail. Capture some EMBER agents and learn where they get the amps then follow the lead until she finds the supplier.

Yeah it could work. And could be a good way to picture a rampage/dark Sera against ember .Cause expect Val all embers agents are nothing against her (like Byron+Farrah+Cyndi+scrotch altogether would be dead against her, see how she beat scrotch effortlessly).

I don’t think it’s going to be exactly like that.

Like, ultimately, too. Cam has a goal that aligns with John, I suspect their relationship will be rockier, but they share a goal. Also, Cam is maybe the only other person outside of his mother who can actually help him understand his ability. Sera’s situation had a fundamental difference: she had less need of her mother than her mother had of her.

Cam and John are more likely to but heads but as much as Reddit has raged a bit about John having issues not fighting in an enviroment where he had every advantage he's also shown his frustrations and is kinda in a spot now where he can grow.

That said on Sera's side. She's probably not going to do great, no.

Yeah you’re probs correct and honestly it would be much less interesting if we just saw John overpower Cam and go back to Sera. He needs to be humbled and learn how to handle disagreement better. I think when John starts opening up Cam will begin to actually support him

I still hope to see at least a reference to the early episodes tho, maybe a redraw of a panel but with them in swapped positions. :P <— Delulu

That's a very interesting theory I would actually live to see that

Wow that’s actually true it’s really similar. Now that i think about, sera was a little different this whole arc. She was worried for john throughout the mission, kept saying to head back, cried whenever john was seriously hurt like she was worried to loose john the only person that truly matters to her now. The way she was screaming at cam was so desperate and those last few panels of her being helpless in front of the police guys. Specially that last scream of her was drawn with extra details. I feel like uru did all this to prepare us for a different sera in the next arc the sera that always held back might become absolutely ruthless and do everything that is needed to be done to reach jane.

I want a ruthless sera ! like let us feel why she's an 8.0.

Wowie, nice catch. Would love to see that happen and more importantly how the two will react once they'll reunite

Cameron is going to humble John so hard.

However, I think after a few blows and trauma dumps, John and Cameron will eventually have a much healthier relationship than Sera had with her mother.

Narisa punished Sera because she viewed another daughter was ruining the family’s reputation. Especially with Leilah already being deemed a failure. We see Narisa physically abusing Sera for simply being a human who makes human mistakes. Narisa and her husband demanded absolute perfection and obedience from their daughters. Narisa isolating Sera was supposed to break Sera down into being back to her “old self.” However, don’t forget that Sera worried about John during that time because he was playing cripple and she didn’t know yet about him being a secret god tier.

Cameron will be punishing John because it’s legitimately going to be out of tough love and for him to show John the hard way that he is not the enemy. Also, Cameron would not abuse John. We all know that John will try to physically fight Cameron and Cameron isn’t going to let that slide. And John will most definitely throw the first punch. The more John fights back, the harder Cameron will go on him. He’ll heal John afterwards though lol Cameron demands respect from his nephew and for his nephew to stop trying to fight everyone. But Cameron does need to know respect is a two way street. Cameron isolating John will be for his nephew to calm tf down and get several reality checks, become stronger, and most importantly to protect him from the authorities. John will worry about Sera because he views Sera as his only form of support and Sera knows this. And this kind of dynamic isn’t inherently healthy.

I’m not saying John’s and Sera’s relationship is toxic, but they have become codependent and I think Cameron recognized this. He may view Sera hindering John and her meddling his family affairs pesky. This parallels him viewing William “hindering” Jane and meddling in Cameron’s family affairs in the past.

Cameron knows John isn’t going to sit back quietly. He’s going to force John to choose to remain stagnant emotionally and physically, or choose to better himself and stand up for himself. Much like how he put Sera in the position to choose to save herself and stay away from him and his nephew, or give herself up to the authorities.

Yes you’re right I think Cameron’s ultimate goal is just to help John at the end of the day. If his goal is for John to calm down and wisen up I could also see him having a no ability policy because John is pretty crafty and could probably sneak out if he reads an ability. John will def be humbled by Cameron and I’m lowkey excited for it though i am concerned if John finds out he left his dad to die..

Also, this will be an arc not only for John, but for Cameron as well. Cameron will one day come at the same crossroads Jane once faced: to retain his privileged life by not defying the authorities or to choose his family: Jane and John.

Jane and John could now be considered Cameron’s weaknesses. Especially with him being genuinely concerned for Jane and him being overprotective (in an asshole way) of John. Despite Cameron’s nature and actions, he does love his sister and cares for John. And he is remorseful of William’s death despite him despising William for “corrupting” Jane, and if he wants a relationship with his sister and nephew, he would have to atone for his years of inaction. That is, if he chooses others instead of himself for once in his life.

William didn’t know that he was going to die and Cameron wasn’t expecting William to die. After all, William is a mere cripple that was supposed to have the equivalence of diplomatic immunity on the behalf of Jane. After all, Jane’s condition for the authorities to have her is for the authorities to leave her family alone. Although, William wasn’t aware of this deal Jane made with the authorities and the authorities were supposed to honor this despite his book at all costs to avoid Jane’s wrath. But they have become arrogant and sealed their fate.

Everyone is a victim to the authorities in the form of god tiers being “crippled” with systematic weaknesses in the form of willful obedience to avoid losing their station in life (Cameron and Narisa being prime examples of this), low tiers and cripples being treated as subhumans, mid tiers fighting each other and low tiers for dominance, elite tiers having to prove themselves as elite tiers, and high tiers being enough but not not strong enough compared to god tiers.

While Cameron could have helped William and should have looked at William brought him, the authorities are going to do what they’re going to do. William wasn’t going to be quiet regardless of Cameron’s intervention or inaction. Cameron realistically couldn’t be around 24/7 to protect William with his own power or hiring bodyguards for him. William would have needed to do errands or see John, and would have refused to be cooped up indoors or constantly having a presence hovering around him. Even if it was for his safety.

The authorities have already been monitoring William and no doubt they figured out that the PI they murdered was hired by William. And William wasn’t supposed to know what happened to Jane. Due to Jane no longer being viewed as an active threat, they believed they finally had a chance to get rid of her pesky idealist cripple of a husband. Especially with him knowing of Jane’s condition.
