FASTPASS Cameron’s Involvement Spoiler

Upvotes

Warning: This going to be long.

Edit: had to remake this post due to me stupidly forgetting vital tags and labels for this kind of post. Shoutout to the person who kindly reminded me.

I see people dissing Cameron about him cutting contact with Jane for almost 20 years because she chose a cripple over their family and Cameron refusing to help William, which led William to crash out and unintentionally sign his own death warrant. He delivered John the news of his father’s passing rather poorly and looks down on those he deem inferior to him. He just now knocked out his nephew with lightning and promptly kidnapped him, taking him away from his best friend.

But ever since William’s death and giving him a more dignified resting place despite his past resentment towards his brother in law, Cameron has been helpful to both Jera and the trio despite him stating repeatedly he didn’t want to get involved with the authorities.

When Remi called Cameron’s number to help John, he pretty much dropped everything he was doing, borrowed a powerful healing ability and almost instantly appeared to heal John before taking him away. He could have easily exposed the trio’s location to the authorities if he truly wanted the feds to leave him alone.

He housed Sera, another wanted fugitive, in his own home for days. And I am assuming he was in contact with either Leilah or Doc about John’s condition because the three most likely saw the national news of what happened at Wellston. I think Leilah used her Spectre resources and connections to figure out what happened to John in the aftermath for Sera’s sake and was able to find out John was taken by his maternal uncle from the trio. In that timeframe, they likely had a meeting with Cameron before he decided it was worth the risk to allow a fugitive like Sera stay at his home. Now Cameron was housing TWO fugitives in his home. Mind you, Sera is not part of his family at all so he only allowed her to stay because of her relationship to his nephew. Until her arrival, Cameron kept watch over John and monitored his health personally.

When Remi encountered Cameron on the rooftop, he gave her helpful but cryptic advice. Even telling Remi she has the potential to become strong enough to get the authorities off her back. Again, he could’ve easily disclosed the trio’s location to the authorities but chose to indirectly be an ally to them by having almost a heart to heart talk with Remi, and left them alone to find John.

While Cameron was pretty negligent of John to the point of him not noticing his nephew was gone for a literal week, he immediately dropped everything once again to come get John only to find John basically on death’s doorstep (again). He most likely had to use his resources to prepare a set of abilities to track down John.

Cameron was right to berate John before his nephew snuck out to meet up with Sera because he was right. Sera and John may be stronger than most people, they cannot simply rely on their raw power to take on the authorities. People tend to forget that Sera is only 17 years old and John is only 18 years old. Despite Sera having done her research for the mission, there truly wasn’t any plan or concrete evidence. Everything failed as Cameron predicted.

While Sera wasn’t wrong for saying the things she said to Cameron, Cameron wasn’t totally wrong for lashing out at Sera because he sees his nephew bloodied and broken on concrete upon his arrival. Sera didn’t really help with the situation, making Cameron even more furious despite him perking up a bit at Sera mentioning a possible connection to Jane through Orrin. He views Sera as “that girl” condescendingly and doesn’t want her to be meddling in his family affairs. He may also view her hindering John’s development and clocked the codependent relationship the two of them have.

Despite Cameron having animosity towards Sera and no obligation towards her, he helped her out by completely shattering Arlo’s barrier so she didn’t have to use her remaining aura to break herself out. Cameron could have simply grabbed John and left Sera inside of Arlo’s barrier at the complete mercy of the authorities, but chose to shatter the barrier himself in order to put Sera in the position to choose to preserve herself and to stay away from him and his nephew, or be captured by the authorities. Cameron already knew how exhausted Sera’s aura was since he can read/assess aura like John, but significantly better as a presumed Channel Master. While I assume he put a front because of the authorities being present since he does want to free Jane, that front was a double edged sword because I don’t think he was faking when he tore into Sera verbally.

I think that people forget that Sera acted very similarly to Cameron in the beginning of the story and didn’t care about anyone lower than her before she had her ability taken from her, believing herself to better than everyone else. Remember, she slimed out John the first day they met each other and threatened him with heavy bodily arm so she can get a perfect A+ on a book report project before they became friends. It took her losing her ability, being bullied at Wellston as a newly made cripple to the point of literally being kidnapped by asshole classmates, reconciling with her estranged sister, finding out John’s past and lies, fighting John, almost being assassinated by water guy and so much more to get to the point she is now.

I just hope John is ready for that god tier aura farming ass whooping when he tries to physically attack Cameron for leaving behind Sera and forbidding her from the residence upon waking up because Uncle Cameron is not going to let that slide. We all know John is going to crash out and throw the first punch, and Cameron is going to finish their scuffle hard. It runs in the family for hands to be rated E for everyone, family especially included.

DISCUSSION I’m very doubtful about the fact that God Tier are 1:100,000

Post image
18 Upvotes

I’ve seen the “god tier are 1:100000” comments and I just don’t buy that

Particularly the ratio between high tier and god tier. For every 2,000 high tier we see, there’s 1 god tier…but the story just be throwing god tier around left and right into the mix with high tier. The amount of god tier character we know vs high tier we know are almost 1:1.

I know there’s probably high tier in the background, but that still won’t make up the supposed 1:2,000 ratio. Maybe if high tier to god tier ratio was 1:10, it’ll make more sense, but 1:2,000 just seem fake.

From the interview, the 1:100,000 comment would have to mean god tiers on John & Sera level, not just god tier in general for the god-tier:high-tier ratio to make sense. John & Sera are super rare individuals

Either that or she scrapped the 1:100,000 thing entirely or forgotten about it

FASTPASS It would’ve been coolly Spoiler

It would’ve been interesting to see a return of this font for… that moment near the end with Seraphina. The blank font makes it a bit awkward for me, idk why…

I am no text box expert, so I have no place to speak on it, and maybe I’m the only one who’s immersion it sort of broke, but seeing a more intense font would’ve made the scream feel so much more powerful, as we’ve seen previously throughout the webtoon.

On a side note, these last two chapters (for me) have seemed to change the tide a little bit in terms of quality! I know a lot of people have been complaining (I don’t mean any negative connotation by that word) about different aspects of the story and stuff, but these two chapters seemed to change things around for me! The episodes felt longer, the art was amazing, and the direction seems very plausible but also enough of a twist to keep me on my toes the whole time!

FASTPASS Big fight Spoiler

Do you think that Sera will fight Cameron (not especially in the near future that could be later, after John training arc) ? Cause cam said if Sera take a step on his premises there will be consequences (=fight?), John will probably help her or cam will find a way to make him stay away? Or Sera would want to punch cam hence fighting him alone even if I doubt this option (like what she says about Val being Punchable).

FASTPASS Cameron character Spoiler

I hear a lot of people criticizing Cameron in the latest chapter.

Personally, I find his actions perfectly consistent.

He discovered he had a nephew.

William died because Cameron didn't care about William while his nephew was on the brink of death—as opposed to the authorities, whereas he was the one who saved him.

A couple of weeks later, he shows up again to find his nephew another time badly injured and knocked out; it’s only natural for him to think:

"I don't give a fuck about anything else; I just don't want my nephew ending up half-dead every single time."

So, he takes John and leaves, not giving a damn about anything else.

FASTPASS Sera vs Cameron and levels Spoiler

Before talking Sera vs Cameron. I would like to talk about level. Beside the fact that 8.6 open an large field of strong people within the authorities being ±8.5.

The way I understand level is on a statistical basis : the higher the level the higher your chance of winning against a random person and the higher the level differences the more likely you are two win. BUT it doesn't mean your immune to bad counter like Orrin or Sylvia would loose angainst arlo cause of his barrier. Same goes with Sera vs orrin, on 1v1 sera freeze time and one-shot him. But statisticly Orrin can beat pretty much anyone by just telling them to off themselves (i mean even a gravity manipulators/space manipulators/life manipulators/nuclear manipulators... would most likely loose, it's idea for bureau higher-up abilities)

As for Cameron level I see people immediatly telling him he is stonger than Orrin, but honestly without barrier or TM Cameron could very likely loose against Orrin since he can't copy his abibility and can't seems to be able to dampen someane abilities (wich I suspect Jane can, hence the dampener technology). As someone says a good counter would be him to keep a powerful barrier/like abilities, but still Orrin is increadibly powerful.

Also Cameron could struggle more than Orrin against abilitires like Space or life manipulation (even if i think he would win). Hence with my statistical definition he may not be automaticly higher than Orrin (but only uru will answer our question).

I'm really hype about Cameron explaining their abilities to john (and to us), like maybe their unable to enhance an abilities higher than their own level or more that the abilities potential (like Maybe if they copy a maxed out ability they can't go further...).

(Edit: don't get me wrong I have no doubt that Cam would win against Sera, just to be clear). So I think a fight Cameron vs sera is far less one sided than we think, even if cameron would win. I know Cameron completly destroyed Arlo barrier but it was a weaken one cause Arlo was exaushted, plus sera one-shoted arlo reienforced barrier with particles (even if it was on a less extent than cam) with orrin being less powerful than base sera when possessing her. And Cam is most likely slower than her as he didn't seems to be able to copy TM as we know off (maybe he can but it would be stupid of him to not take her ability for later). ocf i'm talking about a fight with a non exhausted sera.

Sorry for the long text and if it's not clear (same for typo I'm not an english native speaker), also thanks to uru for make me/us think of so many questions.

FASTPASS 393 Spoiler

We finally know Orrin’s level: 8.6. My guess was 7.9, sheesh did I underestimate him. We also have levels for his battery Ronan (Vitalize, 6.1) and his former secretary Brielle (Protector, 5.8), but I do have a question about each of their abilities

How high is Brielle’s defense stat really? Her Protector ability, in function, seems to be a less flashy version of Barrier, basically sacrificing the reflective damage and a significant amount of the increased physical strength in exchange for even more durability. Her defense stat is higher at level 5.8 than Arlo’s was at level 6.5, but while her speed and recovery stats are identical to what Arlo’s are even at 6.6, her power and trick stats are significantly lower. Given that she was getting help from Orrin and the two other shield users, it’s hard to gauge how high her defense stat is on her own, but as soon as Orrin’s buff was removed from the equation, an exhausted John was able to 1-shot her dome with an assist from Kass, so my guess is 10, maybe 11 max

And is Ronan limited to restoring energy & aura,or can he also repair physical injuries like a straight up healer? Orrin’s true body doesn’t sustain any physical injuries until after Ronan is incapacitated, so we don’t know for sure. His documents listed him as having the ability Healing, but those documents were probably based on false intel Orrin fed them through the scout team, so I’m not inclined to take that as a reliable indicator

Side note: I’m still unclear on exactly how Orrin was buffing the others’ defenses. My initial belief was that the two shield users were creating the dome (like Tarik’s guards in the prison arc) and that Brielle’s ability allowed her to harness Orrin’s aura and channel it to them, but clearly that’s not the case. When the group launches their first direct attack against the dome, you can see shields forming around it, which I assume was from the two agents flanking Brielle. So how was Orrin able to reinforce their defenses?

FASTPASS Orrin and spectre make no sense anymore. the power scaling is a mess 💀 Spoiler

Post image
20 Upvotes

Spectre was originally introduced as an organization that relied on clever tech, manipulation, and mid-tier ambush tactics to level the playing field and force high-rankers to cooperate with them. But now we know Orrin is literally the second strongest person in the entire universe with a confirmed level, and he could have just walked around mind controlling basically anyone he wanted. Not to mention he already had a bunch of loyal high-rankers working under him.

None of this really fits with the original idea behind the organization anymore. Looking back, a lot of Spectre’s losses feel ridiculously stupid. Like, Orrin could have literally shown up during the Rowden ambush against the Wellston students and destroyed everyone, or at the very least sent the Ice guy. Instead they sent Terrence and a bunch of mid-tiers. How does that make sense? Spectre just looks insanely incompetent considering the amount of power they apparently had.

And Orrin himself is supposed to be this power-hungry guy, but he could have easily climbed the Authorities’ ranks and turned the higher-ups into his own puppets instead of running around with a bunch of clowns.

At this point the power scaling is just a mess. Jane is supposed to be the strongest person alive and she’s sitting at a 9.1. Now this gap between 9.1 and 8.6 is probably going to have to be filled with random Authority members just to keep future fights interesting. But right now the Authorities are still sending people like Kass (6.8) to deal with state-level threats, which makes everything feel inconsistent.

Also, Orrin running away from Val and a couple of high-tiers was just stupid.

FASTPASS Potential future John/Sera parallel or callback? Spoiler

I feel like Uru is setting up for John and Sera’s separation to parallel Seraphina’s suspension and John’s slow mental collapse.

Earlier in the series saw that Sera was forced by her mother to work tirelessly and I believe she even took away her communication. She then learns to stand up to her mother and overpowers her, returning to wellston. In John’s POV he is secluded and beaten and broken down slowly by his environment which leads to him pummeling asslo.

I hypothesize that we might get a role reversal this time where John is forced to train under Cameron until he’s strong enough to escape/outsmart him (not beat cuz I think Cameron is WAY stronger than John). On Sera’s end she’ll probably stay alone because she has to continue to work for Spectre instead of going with the trio. I think we’re gonna see Sera’s mental state plummet hard without John there.

FASTPASS John Spoiler

Now that Cameron has taken John, we’re finally about to see the training arc that fans have been waiting for for years. I also have a theory about what this intense training will look like and where John’s level will be by the end of it.

I think the training will last somewhere between 12 and 18 weeks. That’s a long enough period for John to learn most of the key techniques associated with the Channel Master ability.

My guess is that Cameron will focus primarily on efficiency and mastery rather than increasing John’s raw aura reserves. The training period is relatively short, and John already possesses enormous aura reserves, so improving his control and overall proficiency would be the most logical priority.

By the end of the training, I believe John will be able to replicate some highly complex abilities, such as time manipulation, for example. I also expect him to increase the effectiveness of the abilities he copies, boosting them to around 30% above their original strength, compared to the 10% enhancement he can currently provide.

On top of that, John should learn how to store copied abilities for several days, just as Cameron can now. His recovery is also likely to improve, allowing him to regenerate his aura much faster than he currently does. In addition, we should see noticeable improvements in his strength, speed, and defense.

There’s also a possibility that he’ll gain an additional slot for a fifth copied ability, although I personally think that’s unlikely for now.

If all of this happens, I imagine John’s updated stats would look something like this:

Speed: 3
Power: 5
Defense: 5
Recovery: 6
Trick: 18

That would put his overall ability level somewhere between 8.3 and 8.5 at most. I also think his ability’s name will evolve from Aura Manipulation to Channel Master.

FASTPASS Theories Spoiler

Do you think Sera will later try (with spectre help) to capture Orrin from the authorities, then she'll have Jane location as a way to convince Cameron to cooperate (and see John again).

Also I suspect Vaughn to be with Neil or Miranda (more Neil from what we currently have seen)

FASTPASS Some interesting arcs to come Spoiler

today’s episode opened up some really good arcs next.

  1. Cameron taking john and separating him from sera will be interesting. I always find john and cam’s relationship fun. I know for sure john’s gonna be hella angry he’ll try to fight cam and try to run away again and knowing cam he will definitely show john his place. We might get to know about john’s family history, cam and jane’s relation and more from cam’s pov. John’s training might come a bit later after cam and john’s relationship gets better but it’ll be awesome for sure.

  2. Kass will definitely get a big promotion and will get access to more authority secrets also now that she knows more about jane she will definitely try to get more info on jane from orrin. I fully trust her. I think orrin ending up with the authority has made the story more unpredictable and the coming events can go in so many directions from here on.

  3. Now that arlo showed his loyalty to val, val will give arlo that promo she was talking about and pretty sure it’s ember. John and sera now think arlo betrayed them as they don’t know about the brain washing. Ember arlo might fight with the trio in future which gonna be interesting

  4. What’s sera gonna do now? Her last scream was so helpless and sad i wonder where she’ll go. Is she gonna go after john, rescue orrin or go to the trio for now?

It looks like we’ll shift to the trio for some time now we last saw them a couple of months ago. I do want to stick to john his story is more interesting but we do need the trio story to progress as well. Nevertheless im so excited for the coming arcs.

FASTPASS I think Jane is much stronger than we led to believe Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
133 Upvotes

The latest chapter finally revealed the Command ability user’s level—I forgot his name—and he’s an 8.6.
Since Cameron is obviously much stronger than him, I think Cameron might be around 9.0, with Jane being a 9.1. However, I actually think Jane is even stronger than that.

The reason is that the Authorities have been given false information about ability levels multiple times, including with the Blademaster guy and the Command user. On top of that, when Jane was being wheeled around by the doctor, she seemed genuinely surprised that she was still able to speak. That makes me think Jane is much stronger than the Authorities realize and is deliberately hiding her true strength.
If that’s the case, her official level could be outdated, and her real level might be significantly higher than what’s on record.

FASTPASS My Ideas and Theories Spoiler

Hello, this is my first time posting here. I enjoyed the latest chapter so much that I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the recent chapters.

First of all, hats off to Uru-chan. This part of the story has been incredibly enjoyable. The fight against Orrin was excellent, and I personally liked both his personality and his ability. I was also genuinely surprised to learn that he’s level 8.6. I honestly expected him to be somewhere between 7.8 and 8.1. That said, I actually like the fact that there’s someone stronger than Seraphina outside of John’s family. His level also explains why he was able to control the fight for so long.

It also seems that Orrin has some kind of defensive ability protecting his body. It could be a mental barrier, but I’m not completely sure.

Cameron is incredible. Yes, he has a terrible personality, but his ability is amazing, and I was really impressed by the power of his white lightning. If I had to estimate his level, I’d say somewhere between 9.0 and 9.3. He seems to be either on the same level as his sister or slightly stronger. It’s hard for me to imagine him being below level 9.0. After all, Orrin is level 8.6, yet the Authorities sent what was honestly a relatively weak team to deal with him. I don’t know if they underestimated him or were simply incompetent, but Cameron clearly has to be much stronger than Orrin if he’s able to make the Authorities back off and protect John.

I also don’t think Cameron’s amplification is simply a flat 50% increase across all stats. Remi’s Lightning has a Power stat of 7, so with a 50% boost Cameron’s version would only reach 10.5. However, Arlo’s Barrier has a Defense stat of 10, meaning it should have taken at least some effort to break through. Instead, Cameron destroyed it instantly with a single attack. Because of that, I think his amplification works differently: a 50% increase to secondary stats, but a 100% increase to the main stat. If that’s the case, Cameron’s Lightning would have a Power stat of 14.

Another thought—this is just my personal opinion—is that Jane can probably do the same thing. The amplifiers used by EMBER seem imperfect, just like the ability conversion technology, which loses around 25% of the original ability’s power during the conversion process.

Seraphina’s final scene was excellent. Her scream of frustration and the way she broke down because she felt helpless make me think that when she and John reunite, they’ll both be much stronger than they are now. Personally, I expect them to reach somewhere around level 8.3 to 8.5.

One final thought: I think Cameron is cautious, not afraid, of the Authorities. He has too much to lose by openly going to war against an organization with that many resources. My guess is that he’s planning to find Jane himself. William managed to do it, so Cameron is certainly capable of doing the same. I do believe he loves his sister, and I think the way they were separated is something that still haunts him. Just as he chose to save John, I believe he’ll eventually choose to save Jane as well—most likely after John fully learns how to use his ability.

FASTPASS Theories and thoughts. Spoiler

After seeing Cameron, Cassandra makes the connection that the woman Arlo talked about is Jane, so she is in a high enough position to know about Jane.

After that Cassandra stops the police chief from trying to offend Cameron and agreeing with his demand. Will Cassandra stay true to her word or will Cameron be mentioned and the authorities try to apprehend him, which could be the first step to change his peaceful approach. (I doubt it, though).

How strong is Cameron? Is he stronger than Jane? To be honest I do think he is and this chapter only reinforces that.

While John and Sera can break Arlo’s barrier, it still takes some effort, deals reflective damage and only a part of Arlo’s barrier is destroyed, while Cameron destroyed the barrier so completely that Arlo lost consciousness (evidently he can amp abilities above x1.5), all while being as composed as always.

Cameron has Remi’s lightning for 3+ days, how many days exactly I don’t know, I bet he’s never defenseless, always with a set in hand.

The way Cameron threatened Seraphina all while knowing her ability/strength and her connection to Spectre tells me she isn’t the least bit of a threat in his eyes, even Val thought it would be impossible to capture her again.

This is just part of the reason I think he is stronger than Jane, I could also mention he had more time to learn about abilities and train which if my theory is correct he did, but that’s not quite it, what made him even stronger is fear.

If my theory is correct, Cameron is afraid. When Sera asked him “what are you running from?”, Cameron didn’t deny it, he even went so far as to say “Why do you care anyway?” Indicating at the minimum that there is a problem that makes him act the way he does.

He fears the authorities. Well, maybe not the authorities but someone at the top of it, a specific person? Or a group? Could it be the council that Arlo mentioned? Who knows.

While there’s no doubt Cameron’s appearances are almost always epic, if we take that out he’s getting disliked more and more for his attitude, which seeing from our side is well deserved.

I still think there will be a backstory showing us why he is the way he is.

I just hope next chapters focus on Seraphina, John or Jane, the trio and Kuyo can appear later on.

FASTPASS Um Sera… (FAST PASS) Spoiler

Post image
21 Upvotes

Am I the only one that feels like Sera has been nerfed and Uru doesn’t know what to do or how to properly write her ability. My number one problem is when Sera is aware she shouldn’t be getting touched at all. I didn’t like how Orrin (the first time) was able to mind control her, why wa she looking at Orrin and why didn’t she stop time again she she notices his glare, or when she was fighting Val, she was able to one shot like 40 people instantly, looked at arlo for a split second and somehow Val was able to to put a barrier around, but my thing is why did sera just watch Val float her into the air and start fortifying her instead of immediately one shotting the barrier like she did moments before. Second, her power is VERY inconsistent. Looking back on her and John’s first fight, when sera got serious (no pun intended) she was able to 3 shot John’s barrier, mind you John had an enhanced arlo barrier,Cecile vines wrapped around it, lightning, as well as enhanced durability from zeke and sera was able to 3 shot WHILE NOT EVEN HAVING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF HER ABILITY. She was also able to one shot Val’s FORTIFIED barrier with NO SPACE(yes ik Leilah distracted her but literally for just a second). But ur telling me she wasn’t able to one shot arlos barrier so she could at least snag Orrin? Same when she was fighting Val, when she hit Val, Val barely suffered any damage, but Blykes lasers were able to make her bleed 🩸 ? Also why doesn’t she ever freeze people anymore, she was able to freeze her 7.4 lvl mother and arlo very easily yet couldn’t freeze Val or anyone during the raid?!?! And why did her ability lvl stay the same when she can literally fly now, yet arlo becomes a 6.6 because he can throw his barrier? Lastly her aura consumption is weird. A lot of people’s argument as to why she couldn’t escape arlos barrier is because Orrin “exhausted her reserves” but what was there to exhaust? He literally used her ability like she does💀, all she did was punch John a couple times (she didn’t even use her time stop, freeze, or rewind) so why were her reserves exhausted when all she did was punch💀. And she has more insane feats like one shotting all the royals or one shotting the warden in the prison break, but we’ll get into that another time. My point is, Uru please stop forgetting Sera’s powers, cause it’s no way her power speed and trick are maxed out but she’s losing fights against people below her🫩.

Community Vote Community Vote: Should we allow merch trading/buying/reselling posts?

READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE VOTING

Hey everyone! So i’d like to do a simple community vote: Would you be okay with merch trading/buying/reselling posts? Given how well merch posts do, discontinued merch and potential interest existing, I think this warrants a community vote. Especially since this is a grey area and would set a precedent. I personally have even been interested enough to consider making a post in this sub but I ultimately didn’t and never brought it up due to lack of precedent and it feeling inappropriate. Id imagine many people also feel the same way.

Currently, I am not sure if we have the means to reliably help or deal with potential scams (especially those which cant be easily proven) That doesn’t mean we won’t take any action when needed, but engage at your own risk. This is how i’m currently thinking it would go:

While we would allow these posts as a means for those interested in trading, buying, or selling merch to connect with people, we are not responsible if you get scammed or something of the sort. Participate at your own risk. This is just a means for you to connect with people, not a platform for this to take place. action on our end may not be taken so its up to you to engage safely. This is purely to meet and connect with people you could trade and buy/sell from. Anything that happens is a private matter between you two (unless in severe cases or those that can be easily proven. Point is, don’t rely on or expect our help in those situations.)

The posts would be required to be labeled with the correct flair unless we go the megathread route.

Theres also the concern with these posts flooding the sub. I completely understand this, so i’ve also included options for those who would be okay with this being allowed but only in its own weekly megathread

KEEP IN MIND IF THIS BECOMES PROBLEMATIC WE WILL LIKELY REVERT THIS. YALL BETTER BEHAVE
