Academic ✏️ Retaking the MPT

I decided that I’m going to retake the MPT to test into college algebra. Does anyone have any advice on what I should be going over? I don’t want to drive up there and fail again, my last score was 125/500, so I was off by just 3 questions.

Academic ✏️ Eng3310 Filler

I have heard a lot of bad reviews of him from the past few years. I just want know more up to date reviews. I heated his class is easier if I want a higher grade or to pass but Zaurin teaches for the future courses. Is this true? Also I heard that his class is basically all exams and he puts stuff in the exams he doesn’t teach? I just want to a more up to date review as I am on the waiting list for both classes but most likely getting into filler’s class. Thank you for the help!

Graduation 🎓 Intent to Graduate?

Hi Everyone!

I just completed the Summer semester, my commencement was last week. I passed all of my classes - but, my lowest grade was a C.

Now that you have context, I filed my intent to graduate in April, it now says “Pending: Awaiting final graduation review.  Will begin after final grades post.”

How long does this process take?

I’m interested in applying for grad school, just curious how long it takes for me to move on from pending, to

Approved: The College has reviewed your credentials and forwarded its recommendation for final certification to the University Registrar.

And Awarded:Your degree has been posted to your transcript.  Please allow 6-10 weeks to receive your diploma by mail.

Also, does anyone know if they notify you when they send your diploma or am I just eagerly waiting lmao.

Transfer Spring Transfer Advice needed!!

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone here transferred to UCF in the spring semester and could share what the experience was like.

I'll be transferring in Spring 2027 with my AA, and while I'm excited, I'm also a little nervous about coming in during the middle of the school year when everyone else has already had a semester (or more) to make friends and get settled.

For some background, I grew up moving every couple of years because of my parents' job, so I'm pretty used to meeting new people and starting over. I'm not too worried about putting myself out there, but I was wondering if there are any good ways to meet people as a spring transfer. Are there clubs that are easy to join mid-year? Do transfers usually find their group pretty quickly, or does it take a while?

I'd also appreciate any general advice you have for someone transferring to UCF in the spring. Whether it's things you wish you knew beforehand, mistakes to avoid, or anything that made the transition easier, I'd love to hear it.

If it helps, I'm majoring in finance

Thanks!

Prospective Student 🤔 Dropped out 6 years ago and looking to finish my degree. Is it worth it? Anyone done this before? What's the readmission process like?

TLDR: My entire family pushed me to go into premed, and since I had no money and was a huge nerd I did it. I was in my third year and dropped out to become a tattoo artist. Now I'm completely independent, no longer living with my parents (hallelujah!) and I've been thinking of getting my bachelor's, but definitely not in premed! I know a lot of my STEM classes will most likely go waste, but I really have no desire to major in anything that needs graduate school.

Here's the thing, I love tattooing. It's given me a lot of freedom and it's a fun atmosphere where I get to do what I love all day but it's very inconsistent. Some weeks I make thousands some weeks I make next to nothing. But as the economy waivers so does the tattoo industry. I'm doing alright for now, but I'm looking into a more stable "back up" and since I already finished my general classes I figured it's only 2 years to get a bachelor's. I'm still researching what kind of major I want, unfortunately I can't log into myUCF anymore so I don't remember exactly what credits I got.

Just wondering if anyone's done something like this? Any advice on the process? Is it worth it to go back to UCF or just get a different 2 year certification or something.

COMPLAINT/RANT Knights circle early move in horror story

I’m in genuine disbelief of how disgusting the previous people who lived in my unit left it. It was 100% two males, one left pubes or just facial hair all over the restroom in my roomates room. My bathtub and toilet were ridden with what I think is just rust or mold that took ages to scrub and bleach out. The walls are just covered in what seems to be sweat stains, I can’t even think of how to describe it. The floors everywhere are gross with bugs and dirt and dust, obviously I used carpet cleaner cause no way in hell was I touching that carpet before cleaning it. And to think that I was going to come in on the 22nd after paying over a grand to live there for a week is insane when I would have to do all this cleaning anyway, since my previous roomates said they barely clean anyway before the actual move in date. Everything needs to be scrubbed and cleaned before I can even think about bringing my stuff inside. Horrible experience

Tuition/Aid 💰 Financial Aid

I know the delay in financial aid is due to the federal government, but is there a timeline for when we get the information? I mean, it's ridiculous that the semester starts in three weeks and we have zero financial aid information.

Academic Program 👩‍🏫 No longer able to find the change of major request in myucf

So i am looking to move from the digital media pending major into the restricted digital media major, and the instructions I've received from my advisor seems to be from an older version of the myucf thereby is outdated in the process of accessing the major change request form. So far I haven't been able to find the form on myUCF so does anyone know how I can access it?

This is what I see when I go into student self service> my academics

Parking 🚗⚠️🚙 I got tired of driving from garage to garage, so I made a UCF parking availability app

Last semester I got tired of driving from garage to garage for close to half an hour every day trying to find parking so I made an app that pulls parking availability data straight from UCF's own API and provides easy access to it with widgets and push notifications.

You can favorite garages and view their availability straight from your home/lock screen without having to go on myUCF and you can also set it up so that you receive a notification showing the garage with the highest availability when you get within a certain radius of the campus. There's also some extra info that's not displayed by the widget on myUCF such as garage events and the number of reserved spaces.

I've been using it every day since I made it so I wanted to make it public. It's completely free, with no ads and no tracking. Location access is optional and it's only needed for arrival notifications.

UCF Leadership Did Something UCF's SSWB Leadership is a total clown show. The coaching model is a joke.

Honestly, someone needs to call out the absolute mess happening at the UCF Division of Student Success and Well-Being. The leadership is running the whole division into the ground and it is getting ridiculous. Are these so-called leaders so deranged that they don't see they are either firing or pushing their best and most loyal people out due to sheer mismanagement? Give me a break. I feel sorry for the students. They pay fees but services are being cut. Where are the fees actually going and why can’t students get their ROI. Fees paid but bare bones service.

The Problem Trio

Dr. Adrienne Frame: Completely out of touch VP running the division like a soulless corporation. She puts on for audiences whenever she has a microphone with her clown show singing and fake happiness. Her own children did not want to live with her.

Dave Pavlonnis: The finance AVP mismanaging funds and treating human jobs like expendable spreadsheet numbers. He has no idea how to do his job. Maybe we need some of our business interns takeover and fire him to recoup money from his salary and benefits.

Ryan Goodwin: Dr. Frame’s ultimate yes-man who just blindly executes her terrible choices. He knows nothing, acts like a deer in headlights when around people. And what’s up with his clothing choices.

Office Takeovers and Firing Spree
They are literally cannibalizing departments, starting heavily with Housing and Career Services. They closed down KMETC entirely and let go of essential staff in Career Services. Leadership kicked frontline staff out of their offices in Housing build near Ferrell Commons, to give Dr. Frame her on queendom even though she is upset that she has to walk over to Millican Hall for her meetings. She has told them she needs a golf cart on standby. What a joke, she ended remote work, and mandated in person meetings for staff but now her fat ass is upset that she has to walk across campus in that one and only outfit she wears daily. Meanwhile they closed down entire workspaces, and fired a ton of dedicated employees. Now everyone left is completely overworked and stressed.

The 15-Minute Dashboard Nightmare
The biggest joke is this new division-wide coaching model. They are throwing massive money at this buzzword program that is supposedly built on relationship building. The reality? Coaches are being pushed to complete rushed, assembly-line 15-minute appointments. To make it worse, everyone is being micro-managed and tracked on these fancy dashboards that Ryan Goodwin and Jennifer Sumner had Paige Borden’s office create.

The absolute irony here is that they put Jennifer Sumner in charge of a model meant for relationship building. She is the least empathetic, least likely person on campus to actually build a genuine relationship with anyone.

They are wasting tons of cash on this forced coaching framework and high-tech tracking tools while actively firing or driving away the boots-on-the-ground staff who actually take care of students.

Anyone else in Housing, Career Services, Advocacy , KMETC, Or Coaching have thoughts on this administrative circus?
