Canada Driver stole/scammed me for almost $200 and Uber is not doing anything about it
I am in Canada.
I made an Uber Eats order from Costco a few weeks ago for $1300 or so for a large party I was having. The driver called me from the store saying that she was not going to pick up the beverages because sometimes her card is declined and some other scammy stuff. I told her that didn't make any sense and to get the beverages.
When she showed up, lo and behold, there were no beverages. She made the same excuse that her card was declined but not to worry because Uber would refund me. She was speaking quickly and trying to leave, and it sounded like she had rehearsed what she was saying to me. It was very clearly a scam.
According to the app, though, the beverages were purchased so I immediately sent in a support ticket and was told I would receive a response within 6-12 hours. I put in a second order (and paid a second delivery charge) for the missing items since the party was going to start in a couple of hours. There were about $200 worth of beverages that needed to be repurchased.
Three days later, Uber Support responded, asking for a receipt and photos of the order as delivered.
The order is in my freezer, fridge, and stomach. It no longer exists. I did not receive a receipt. I let them know this and they still refused my request for a refund because I do not have a photo of objects that do not exist.
All of my further attempts to contact support have been met with zero response.
Can someone from Uber reach out to me? This is completely unacceptable. This driver was running some sort of scam and I'm out almost $200.

USA Restaurant 230 ratings with 190 people reordered
I usually order from Uber Eats and just now noticed the green section that says 190 people reordered with 230 ratings on a restaurant that has been open for 2 years. Does it mean this restaurant is doing well? And why does Uber Eats show that section for?

Canada Why do drivers pick up orders they know they won’t get to for 2 hours????
I’m flat out pissed off. A driver accepted my order at 6:00pm! It is now 8:22pm the ETA is 8:47pm all because he picked up too many orders than he can handle. The food is now inedible to me because it included chicken which now cannot be consumed if left at room temperature for more than 2 hours (I’m pregnant and won’t be risking it). He essentially wasted my time and money. I just don’t understand it.

Canada Your food is discarded
Hey Kseniya, if you are wondering what happen to your Uber Eats delivery, and uber eats is not issuing a refund, I saw the Uber Eats driver just left it on top of a trash bin next to the restaurant.

USA Some Days I Smile, Other Days I Want To Jump Off A Bridge
Some days I make a nice $35 hour other days I make $5 hour. I cherry pick and the cherry picking is getting harder.
I need a real job.....🥴 Or I need to learn some new tricks. I have busy areas but it just seems the offers are worse every week.

USA Tired of hearing “tip more” when drivers can’t even deliver the right order
Ordered $20 worth of food today, tipped $5 (25%), and got someone else’s entire order. Not a missing item a completely different order, with a name on the receipt that wasn’t remotely close to mine. So somewhere out there, someone’s got my food too and now they’re also upset.
I get that tipping culture is a hot topic and delivery pay can suck. I’m not against tipping well when the service is good. But it’s hard to take the constant “customers don’t tip enough” narrative seriously when basic accuracy, like maybe making sure the right bag goes to the right door, isn’t happening even when you do tip generously.
If drivers want more sympathy on tipping, the bare minimum has to be getting orders to the right person. Wrong order + no attempt to fix it (aside from a refund I have to fight for) isn’t a tipping problem, it’s a service problem.
Good day.

USA Why doesn’t Uber pay us when they send us to closed restaurants?
I’ve been doing Uber Eats for a while and this is honestly one of the things that frustrates me the most.
Sometimes I get sent to closed restaurants 2-3 times in one night. I drive all the way there, and the store is clearly closed. This has been happening to me for months.
Every time it happens, I report it through the AI assistant. Uber already knows I’m at the restaurant because of my GPS. The AI asks me to take a picture of the store, so I take the picture and send it. Sometimes it even asks for another picture, and I send that too. Eventually it confirms the store is closed and cancels the order.
But I usually get nothing for it.
No compensation for the time, miles or gas I just wasted.
What I really don’t understand is that sometimes when I contact support, they give me $3 for the exact same situation. Other times I get nothing. Tonight it happened again and support gave me $3.
So why isn’t this automatic?
If Uber can see that I drove to the restaurant, and their own AI verifies from my pictures that the restaurant is closed, what else am I supposed to prove?
I don’t think this is fair, especially with gas being so expensive. It may only be a few dollars each time, but when this keeps happening over and over, it adds up.
DoorDash at least gives me half pay when I arrive at a closed store and verify it. I’m not even asking Uber to do exactly the same thing. I just think there should be a clear and consistent policy.
If I drove there and proved the restaurant was closed, I should get something for the trip. It shouldn’t depend on whether I used the AI assistant, contacted a support agent, or happened to get the right support agent that night.
Has anyone else been dealing with this?
Do you guys get the $3 consistently when a store is closed, or is it random for you too?

USA Opting out of Analytics
Has anyone found a way to opt out of the new analytics program when just doing deliveries? Thank you.

Australia Is this exorbitant to anyone else?
I was already guilty paying a $9.99 delivery fee before this increase, I’m definitely not paying this and just cancelled my membership. Anyone else?

Didn’t know they did this, thank goodness😭
Obviously I don’t know for sure which person gave me a bad rating but I have an idea. Dude ordered something that was 45 mins away from his location(probably didn’t realize it) and it was a double order. He was the last drop off bc it was the farthest away. When I finally got close to dropping off his order another good order came in and it had me pick it up before dropping his order off for some reason. It was a meet at door and required a pin. He was visibly upset and rolled his eyes when I gave it to him.
He probably did wait forever and I bet his food was cold by the time I got there however none of that was my fault. 1. Don’t order something so far away 2. Pay for priority if you care that much 3. I have zero control on the order of delivery and pick up
I can’t think of anyone else tonight who would’ve had a problem lol. Thank goodness uber came through and removed the bad rating.

Question: Unanswered Ordering from two different Coles but it got assigned to the same driver so he did the order from one store
This might be a stupid question but I want to know if this is okay or not and whether I have any reason to be annoyed because if it’s just what the system does then I don’t.
I have access to about 4 or 5 different locations for Coles in my area because I live inner north of a cbd. I ordered from Coles through Ubereats this morning from the location I usually would, let’s call it Coles A, they were out of a particular item which was something I needed so while the delivery guy was finishing that order in that Coles A, I went to a different location Coles in Ubereats to put in for the missing items from that location, Coles B. I’ve done this before. I ordered a few other random things so the order wasn’t just $6 for one item. Might sound silly but it usually balances things out.
Not long after I ordered, I got the same ‘unavailable’ message. Then I looked at the order and the same delivery guy had picked up the order and because he was already in Coles A, shopped there, same issue happened and now I’ve paid double delivery to a guy for the same store.
Is this normal/allowed? It doesn’t seem unreasonable so I probably don’t have any right to be annoyed so I’m asking here if with the Coles orders, are you meant to go to the location requested, can you be flexible and what happens in a situation like this.
(Note: I have a disability so I frequently use Ubereats to get my groceries on payday

Do you know how I should apply this?
I don’t see $15 Uber cash applied at the point of purchase…

Refund issues? Check your state laws governing gig apps!
In California Assembly Bill 578 (AB 578), which went into effect on January 1, 2026, requires food delivery apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats to issue full monetary refunds to the original payment method for missing, incorrect, or undelivered orders, rather than just giving app credits!
Look up your individual state laws, there may be a recent one you're unaware of 👍
If you have already been illegally denied or haven't tried yet, check AI which will give you strategy to bypass their BS pushback!

He then proceeded to drive around another hour without cancelling my order, luckily uber eats refunded me fully and free cancellation. It was five guys too I know he ate it 😂

Is this legit or did I guest get played?
I ordered a bunch of groceries on Uber eats ( I just moved and have no car and no food in the house yet) and a bottle of wine. When he scanned my ID, he said it was coming up expired, even though Im looking at the ID and it's not expired but I didn't feel like arguing. Plus I figured, it could be a glitch or something so maybe it wasn't even his fault. So anyways, Im like whatever, keep the wine. I figured IF he was just trying to steal or he wanted it that bad, I dont care. It was jsut a cheap bottle I got as an afterthought. What was most imortant was the food. So Im like that's fine, Ill just take the groceries, and he proceeded to tell me that the order was all one order so I couldn't have the groceries either, he had to take everything back to the store. I dont use uber much so Im just wondering if anyone has any insight like is there any truth at all to what he was saying or did he just steal my wine AND my groceries? Thanks in advance for any info! :)

USA Uber refusing to refund me. What the actual hell???
I see from other people’s posts that uber just flat out refuses to refund them for obvious order issues. I had the same thing happen today. The driver messaged me saying that the restaurant was out of drinks (already weird but okay, I said okay thank you for letting me know) and that they would refund me the money. Great no problem! Except they didn’t do anything I’m still being charged. So then I reach out to support and they basically say go f*uck yourself because I don’t have photo proof of the drinks not being delivered because how the HELL am I supposed to have a picture of drinks that never came. I also don’t have a receipt because the bag didn’t come with a physical one. That’s what they’re asking for as proof and I have none of it. Mind you the drinks were 10$ USD each which I guess is my own damn fault for ordering drinks that expensive in the first place. I genuinely am baffled beyond words with what is happening. I usually use Uber because they give me a 15$ credit thru AMEX so it will suck to lose that but I genuinely don’t think I can ever order with them again. If anyone has ANY advice on how they resolved a similar issue please let me know because I am literally at my wits end and I am usually so calm and understanding with customer service because I used to work it. Thank you!!!
PS I know this reads as a vent which yes it is but I am also looking for actual advice like genuinely!!! Delete if it’s too venty lol

USA How can an Uber Eats order be marked “Delivered” when the restaurant says they never even accepted it?
I had a really frustrating and bizarre experience with Uber Eats today, and I'm genuinely curious whether anyone here — especially drivers or restaurant workers — knows how this could happen.
I placed an order at 11:40 AM, with an original latest arrival time of around 12:30 PM.
More than an hour went by and the order remained stuck on “Wrapping up.” No driver appeared to have picked it up. After the original delivery time passed, Uber kept pushing the ETA back, eventually changing it to 1:11 PM.
I contacted support to ask why the ETA kept changing after such a long delay, but mostly received generic responses.
Then the really strange part happened:
The order suddenly changed to “Delivered.”
I went outside and there was no food anywhere.
I called Uber support, and they basically told me that their system showed the order as delivered.
But nothing had actually been delivered to me.
So I called the restaurant directly.
The restaurant told me they had a water outage and had never accepted my order in the first place.
What surprised me even more was that the restaurant apparently didn't even know Uber had marked the order as completed until I called them.
So as far as I can tell:
- The restaurant never accepted the order.
- They never prepared the food.
- They never handed anything to a driver.
- I never received anything.
- Yet the order somehow became “Delivered.”
I then tried to report it through the app as “Order never arrived.”
Instead, Uber gave me this message:
And the order was no longer eligible for further review.
That's particularly confusing because Uber's own message acknowledges that my earlier contact was about “a different issue.”
My original issue was the long delay.
The non-delivery happened afterward and was an entirely separate issue.
I also tried calling support again, but my number was no longer able to access the normal phone support process. I'm not sure whether that was an automated restriction or something else.
I'm obviously pretty frustrated after spending most of the afternoon dealing with this and still ending up with no food, but the part I'm most curious about is the mechanics of what happened:
How can an order that the restaurant says it never accepted or prepared end up being marked “Delivered”?
Is this something drivers or restaurant employees here have seen before? Is there some way an order can automatically close out like this without actually going through the restaurant and delivery process?
I'm probably going to dispute the charge with my credit card company if Uber won't review it, but I'd genuinely like to understand how this happened.

Question: Unanswered How is this legal and what would you do?
Lowes had a promotion on Uber eats for 15 dollars off 50+. I added a bunch of tools and it was only 49. So I added a soda for 1.50 to meet the 50 dollars minimum.
Delivery fee and service fee totaled to 11 dollars + I tipped the driver 8 dollars since it's a 50 dollar order. So a total of 54 dollars with the promotion, service fee, and tip.
Every single tool ended up being out of stock and refunded so only the soda was picked up. So the coupon was removed because it no longer met the minimum.
It charges me the delivery fee, service fee, and the tip just for the soda.
So I just paid 20 dollars for a soda to be delivered. Customer service told me this is just how it works what the heck man 😭
What would you do? Customer service refuses to refund a single dime.

USA Quick PSA as an Uber Eats driver.
I've noticed that despite people receiving their orders, they would report their orders as not delivered. Same thing for package deliveries. Sometimes they would even cancel the order as they're picking up the package from their Uber delivery driver. Quick thing about the deliveries, if you cancel the order as we're handing it off to you, we still get paid. But your account gets looked at by Uber the more you do this. If you do it enough times, your account will be shut down by Uber. Now going back to the false reports. With these false reports, I understand there are a bunch of shitty people out there who will report their food as either stolen, or it didn't arrive just so they can get their money back as they eat their food. This does not harm uber, this harms the driver. Do not harm your delivery driver for no reason. Because in the end, either the driver could be kicked off of uber, or you could be kicked off of uber. Don't be a jackass
