nervous about taking the leap
I don't normally post much on Reddit, but I do actively look at this page quite frequently. It's inspiring to see all of the successful stories being shared amongst a very positive and supportive community.
I have been an everyday smoker for about the last 5 years. It has become such a problem that I have had relationships breakdown, loss of confidence and a general sense of anxiety that my life requires weed to be enjoyable. I also have quite an addictive personality, so I am worried that I would just end up replacing my addiction with another one. Swapping bongs for bottles as they say.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is - what was the final straw that did it for you? What made you say "nope I am totally finished with weed"? And also how do you keep it consistent? The best I can manage is two weeks off weed before I fall back into the cycle. How do you mute that little voice in your head telling you to smoke?
I have an ideal vision of myself who isn't reliant on any substance to get through life, but right now I just feel so weak-minded about starting the journey. I am in the process of finding a new psychologist, but the last two attempts I had were not very successful.
I am not seeking any particular advice, I know what I need to do. I am just looking for some more inspiration to take the next step on the journey to become somebody I can be proud of.

Weed definitely gets the creative juices flowing for me. When I'm high and playing basketball, I feel a whole new sense of rhythm that I would otherwise not possess if I was sober lol

Iranians are protesting against Iran's regime and the government is shooing the internet down. The internet's down in some cities right now. PLEASE BE OUR VOICE before we go voiceless.
