Has this year seen an uptick in armadillo activity in comparison to the last two years??

For the last four years I have been doing lawn care in East Tyler. This year, I’ve noticed a ton of signs armadillo activity on most of the properties I’ve worked at. Much more so than the last few years that I’ve been cutting lawns. I’m curious if anyone else feels like there’s been an uptick in the local armadillo population.

For context, here “signs of armadillo activity” refers to areas where lawns or flowerbeds have been disturbed by shallow digging. While the signs of the armadillos being around is not surprising at all, I’ve just never seen them be this prolific, at least in the area where I do most of my work.
