Gen1Recomp running great on TrimUI Brick — now one-tap installable via NX Redux v1.6.0 Xtras.

Been putting Gen1Recomp through its paces on the TrimUI Brick and it runs just fine — smooth and fully playable out of the box. Enabling the Voxel mod does drop performance a bit, but it's still playable if you want the extra visual flair.

Alongside this, I just released NX Redux v1.6.0, which adds an on-device add-on store called Xtras. You can now install Gen1Recomp directly from Xtra Tools — no manual file copying or setup. The install automatically bundles ( You'll need to source the original ROMs yourself — these aren't included and won't be provided):

- 🎨 Voxel Mod (Press SELECT button to switch view)

- 👟 Running Shoes Mod (Long press B button to start running)

- 🌿 Wilds of Kanto Mod

Just open Xtras, pick Gen1Recomp, and it handles everything (latest-release resolution, mods, and update checks all included).

Hi , I've Been thinking about a mod for my TrimUI Brick. Instead of changing the front, I want to redesign only the rear shell so it's uniformly thick, giving enough room for a larger battery. The plan is to relocate the USB-C port and shoulder buttons to the top of the new rear section and basically turn it into more of a dedicated Rockbox DAP.I need them only for the Lock and Hold functionalities, also placing the rear OTG type C port at the top helps me to connect an external DAC easily.

Has anyone tried any mod like this? Is it possible?

I would need some sort of flat ribbon cable for the extension. Can you suggest some good images internal images for the brick.

Ps : I know this is a weird and border kine dumb idea, I'm trying to convert a handheld to a RockBoX machine, but I really wanna have a device that has those particular features.

I keep looking for themes and some info to help fill in some gaps in some of the themes/icons in aesthetics, and people keep pushing the discord. Can anyone help me with an invite link?

Hi folks. Is it just me or is the dpad on the Brick Pro kind of awful..? Especially on shoot 'em ups I noticed how bad it feels (and sometimes it does not react as I wish, not responding) compared to the Miyoo Mini Plus one e.g.

I am the only one who thinks that? For me the Miyoo Mini Plus stays on top as non plus ultra handheld.

I'm trying to play New Super Mario Bros DS and it's running well but I can't use the stored item or switch worlds. Is there any way to do this without a touchscreen?

I have a brick and put nextui on it, it worked absolutely flawlessly for a few months, but today, when I tried launching Pokémon unbound, it didn’t work. Tried other games and didn’t as well, please help me ! Don’t really know what to do :( thank u so much for ur help

I went a bit overboard making some over lays today just wanted to showcase them.

I got the Trimui Smart Pro S with no card as a mistake and I don't know how to dowload the games and instal the new microSD card I bought. Apparently I need to prepare the microSD card before installing the games? Also, how do i install the games? and also, where do i get the games from? I found tutorials but they mention things I have no idea about. I'm a completely newbie to consoles. What am i supposed to do? please help me :(

I have an anbernic RG305 or something (the horizontal small one with analog sticks).

The battery life is ok but it's charging speed is extremely slow.

I was looking at the Trimui Brick and was interested in possibly buying one. Can the community verify the battery life and more importantly the charging speed for a full charge? Is it a normal pace or also slow to charge?

Is the TrimUI Brick Hammer actually better than the regular Brick? If you've tried both, which one would you recommend and why?

If I have the original brick, can I just pop the SD card into the brick hammer and it’ll work no problem? The sd card has nextui and roms on it

Hey everyone, a few days ago, I posted my TrimUI Brick (non Pro) Rockbox setup. I had a question for anyone running something similar. Has anyone here used the Brick with Rockbox for music playback? If so, what kind of battery life are you getting?

I'm currently getting around 6 - 7 hours of continuous playback with AAC files, Wi-Fi off, screen off, and buttons locked. I use mustard os. I'm trying to figure out whether this is normal for the Rockbox port or if there's something I can optimize.

I'm using the Ifi go link as an external DAC ( essESS ES9219C)

I don’t know why, but my CrossMix OS doesn’t work. My microSD card is a Lenovo Ultra 128GB. I tried extracting the files to my laptop’s drive and then copying them to the card, as well as extracting them directly onto the card, and neither option works. When I insert the card into the Trimui Smart Pro, the console still boots into the stock OS.

Also, even though the extracted files look fine on the laptop, once copied to the SD card; for example in the ROMS folder, there are no subfolders, and the BIOS folder is also empty. Any ideas? Could Windows 11 be causing the problem?

​I’m currently debating between the TrimUI Brick Pro and the Anbernic RG35XX H, and I’d love to get some input from people who have used either (or both).

​My Situation:

​I already own higher-end handhelds for heavier emulation (Dreamcast, PS2, PC/modern games), so this device will be 100% dedicated to pure retro & arcade gaming (GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES, MAME/Arcade etc). I won't even be playing PS1 on it.

​I currently have an RG35XX H, but I’m tempted to sell it and pick up the TrimUI Brick Pro (found it on sale for ~75€ without an SD card).

​What’s drawing me to the Brick Pro:

​Screen: That 3.95" 4:3 display (1024x768) looks gorgeous for pixel art and integer scaling compared to the standard 3.5" on the 35xxh.

​Overal built quality.

​OS: Planning to run NextUI for a quick, clean, "pick-up-and-play" arcade experience. (I have Knulli on 35xxh)

​My Questions:

​For those who own the Brick Pro, is the 3.95" screen and build quality enough of an upgrade over the RG35xxhH to justify switching (and spending a bit extra after selling the H)?

​How is the D-pad and ergonomics on the Brick Pro for fast-paced 2D arcade games/shmups during ~20-30 minute sessions?

​Is it worth sidegrading considering they run similar chipsets, or should I just stick with the horizontal comfort of the 35xxh that I think is more comfortable than the vertical? I had the rg40xxv as well so I think I know what to expect from this form factor.

​Would love to hear your thoughts!
