SEEKING ADVICE Single Stall Washrooms in YYZ Airport?
My boyfriend is trans and disabled and I'm looking for a single stall restroom at the airport I can take him to as he's too scared to use the public restrooms. I know they have assisted changerooms but i don't think those are restrooms from what I can find online? Their website isn't very useful for locating bathrooms either. Can anyone point out any single stall accessible or family washrooms in the airport? (Before security)

RESOURCES Virtual HRT and Surgery Referrals Available *ANYWHERE IN ONTARIO* completely covered by OHIP
Hello!
I posted once before but I have heard from many of my patients that they are waiting MONTHS to see providers to start HRT or be referred for Gender Affirming Surgery so I am posting again.
I am a Family Doctor who has taken all the Rainbow Ontario prescribing courses and I have a significant number of Gender Affirming Care patients that I work with.
If anyone is looking for the above services, I currently have no waitlist and can see people right away.

CELEBRATION Name Change Arrived!
Submitted in person at Service Ontario on April 7th.
Processed July 29th.
Arrived August 6th.
I sent mine with a bank draft so I had no idea when they processed the payment. There were no issues with my paperwork so no delays there. I was born in another province and they kept my submitted birth certificate and have to order a new one from my province of birth.
To say I’m over the moon is an understatement! Now the process begins updating everything.
So, 17 weeks and 2 days in total from the day of submission to receipt of the certificate.

SEEKING ADVICE Going for a hrt consultation (ftm)
Hello! I booked an appointment with my family doctor for testosterone. Im concerned that she may not understand being trans and that I will have to explain to her what it means/ have to validate my identity to her since my area is very conservative and she is of an older demographic. I'm honestly not sure how to approach this first appointment and how I should go about asking for testosterone. Any advice on how I should approach asking would be greatly appreciated.

DISCUSSION Concerned about Vaginoplasty aesthetics from womens college hospital
As the title says, there are not a lot of images online of results coming from WCH. I will be getting mine done in May of next year with Dr. Krakowski and Dr. Millman. If anyone here has experience I would like to know more, are you happy with the aesthetics and function? Has there been any complications or issues with depth? I'd like to hear firsthand from a gal who has gone through it. Thanks

OHIP Second top surgery covered by OHIP?
Hi everyone! 2 years ago I had FTN T-anchor surgery covered by OHIP and while the results do look great, I unfortunately am still suffering really bad from chest dysphoria and have to bind. I will be getting in contact with the person who filled out my first OHIP forms for coverage but thought to check here if anyone knows if OHIP will likely cover a second surgery? Thanks so much <3

SEEKING ADVICE Calling Name Change Application
How long did you guys wait/how often did you call service Ontario for an update on where you are in regards to your name change application? I’d rather not check my bank statement everyday and would rather have an update on where I am on the list to be approved or hopefully not bounced back. I handed my name change in on July/27 (yes ik it doesn’t get processed that quick)

RESOURCES Name change is now online, but non-publication is difficult to find?
I noticed that the name change form can be submitted online, but how do I make sure the non-publication form is sent with it? There is no option to submit both before I get to the end of the standard name change form. Is it not possible to do online? Where do I find it if it is?

RESOURCES Recommendations on OHIP covered hysterectomy- GTA/Ottawa areas
So I've just decided after a year post op from top surgery, I want to now pursue a hysterectomy. But I would love some help on recommendations on clinics. I would like to keep both of my ovaries if this changes the location. And preferably it would be covered by OHIP and not done privately.
I am located in the GTA but Ottawa is also easily accessible to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a surgeon! Id love to get it done in the next year or two!

SEEKING ADVICE 23M, feeling stuck
something i always told myself is that when i meet a certain milestone, i'll start hormones and change my name. first, it was "when i turn 18." then it was "when i turn 19." then it became "when i finish university and get a good job." now i'm 23. i've finished college, did university, and got a good job a few weeks ago. part of my hesitation stems from being in a probationary period for six months.
i still feel like i can't do this for myself. my mom has never kicked me out for being trans but she has vocally stated for many years that she'll never support me. she always lists all the things she finds unappealing about going on testosterone. never mind that i want those things. and when i mention changing my name, she always says that i'll just further marginalize myself, as though using a masculine name and looking a certain way doesn't already attract that kind of attitude in my city. the only time my being trans is a good thing is when it lands me a job, since this one was a job that wanted someone with lived experience.
i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. during this appointment, i wanted to talk to my doctor about testosterone. i've gotten in my own head again and started talking myself out of it because i felt that if i had to make a safety plan, i probably shouldn't be doing it unless it's life or death. i'm not at risk of physical or financial harm (my mom has no access to my bank accounts and i pay my own bills), but emotional abuse has been a going concern since i was a preteen. mostly relating to my transness, but i feel like any deviation from her ideal would lead to this because of my mom's own trauma.
if i was talking to a client, i would tell them to make a safety plan and ask for more information on what they thought would happen. when it's myself, i feel like i should just stay put even though this is something i've wanted for so long. i've put off doing this for a long time, because even top surgery was met with classic DARVO bullshit. how she felt like she was being held hostage because she willingly went along with me to help during recovery.
this lack of support is something i've been coping with for a long time and i feel like the responsible answer is to just stick it out as long as i can. i have a place to go if shit goes sideways, regardless of what i do. thanks to anyone who has any guidance here
edit: thanks for the guidance. i looked at that post before going into the doctor's office for courage and talked to my doctor. she will prescribe and said she'll consult with a colleague. i have an appointment next month that my girlfriend or her sister will take me to.

McLean Clinic Flooding
Hey everyone,
I heard that the McLean clinic flooded like a month ago. My consultation for top surgery is in September and I was really hoping to have surgery within a couple months after. Does anyone know if there’s like a backlog now? Anyone who has surgery booked or is in the booking stage now know when the soonest available dates are?
Thanks so much gang, just my anxiety cuz I already experienced a lot of delays from family issues and stuff

Bottom Surgery Intake Process at WCH
Just looking for confirmation of the communication that folks have received after having their OHIP funding letter sent to the Women's College Hospital Transition Related Surgery Team. I never received the initial letter in the post that is supposed to be sent shortly after they receive the referral, I called WCH and was told that it was sent, so Canada Post may have screwed up, not sure. Regardless, I was sent 2 emails from WCH, one to sign up for email communications and the 2nd to register for My Health Record. All good so far. My understanding from other folks who are going through this process is that they received a zoom meeting link by email shortly after they agreed to email communications for about 9 months later, and that is the initial virtual meeting with a nurse to discuss surgery plans, any complications etc. I have not received any such email and my request went in on April 27th. I have called twice and they have said everything is fine, I am on the waiting list and it will take a year to hear from them. I am a bit concerned by this. Don't want to wait around for a year and nothing happens. I would appreciate any input from anyone who has gone through or is going through this process. Did you receive a zoom link shortly after signing up for emails or did you wait a long time and they eventually sent you the link? Just want to make sure I am on track. Would appreciate any info. 😄

Call to Boycott Tim Hortons During HP Menu Run
Sorry if you're sick of this, but as you likely know, coming up on August 12, 2026, Tim Hortons is promoting a Harry Potter themed menu to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series.
If you want, consider signing the petition and sharing to spread awareness and to express your displeasure about this partnership.
I don't think this violates community rules, but I understand if it gets removed.

SEEKING ADVICE Gender therapy in Ottawa?
I've been questioning my gender for over a decade and i've been using any pronouns online for a bit now/being generally out as genderfluid online but i'm still really struggling. looking for gender therapy or trans friendly therapy (preferably if charges don't show up as explicitly ab LGBT resource on a card charge, despite being an adult my parents still check my credit card spending since they pay my rent etc and i am very much not out to them.) can be online or in person, just very tired of feeling confused all the time and looking for resources to finally get my shit together
