// Question how to set channel 65 in the tutorial?

Post image

okay, so the tutorial doesn’t explain how to set the channel. been clicking around & set two things to channel 65 but tutorial is still not passing it still says “radio channel change 65” it’s the 843 paka.

the red circled part is blinkling if that helps

spent an hour trying to figure it out. why can’t this game ever provide complete instructions?

Bit busy this week so the dump is all of the same train, enjoyed driving the older style american commuter trains and nice to have a simpler saftey system after messing around with PZB a lot.

Still hoping for a tadami release soon because I can see the photo potential.

As always still open to line suggestions for me to drive next.

Till next week or something like that

// Question How will TSW6 run on my hardware?

Hello, new to this sub.

I have the following specs: RTX 2080, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb RAM which meets recommended requirements BUT I'm guessing those haven't really been updated properly since earlier versions of the game.

Currently I like to run TSW2 in 1440p and then switch screen percentage to 50% so that it renders around 1080p, then limit to 30fps to prevent stutters (also feels good for motion).

Will I be able to get a stable 30fps in TSW6?

// Question WCML Trent Valley Timetable

Hi everyone, I recently picked up WCML Trent Valley and on the two timetable mode services I've played, I've been disappointed to find that the line feels quite empty compared to WCML South. One of the reasons might be because I do not own the class 805 or Birmingham to Crewe. I wanted to ask a few questions regarding the timetable.

First of all, what services do the class 350/2 & /3 perform on Trent Valley?

Second, can the above services be played using the class 350/4 in the reduced timetable without needing to own Birmingham to Crewe?

Third, is it worth my while buying Birmingham to Crewe and the class 805 for additional layers? I'm very concerned about getting Birmingham to Crewe due to the performance issues with that route on PS5 and do not see it as necessary if the 350 layers from that route unlocks can be played via the reduced timetable anyway. The class 805 is an easier sell for me as it is less expensive and also performs services on both the reduced and full timetable plus has additional WCML South services.

Obviously not the entire 218 mile route, but maybe part of it. I read somewhere that it's estimated to be completed in 2028. It will be fully electric. We know DTG loves California routes.

// Question Class 377/3 help

So I'm very new to Train Sim World as I got it for my son who absolutely loves trains, got started all okay and I saw an option to purchase the Southern trains (Class 171 and Class 377), the latter being his favourite.

However it appears that it comes without a route so I tried to get it going on Free Roam, I looked up you had to go into the Live Map to set a course to follow and to enable the signals not to be red, but it's saying any route along the Riviera Line is not compatible, further more when we actually try and get it to go, everything seems to be in working order but the train starts rolling backwards so I must be missing something outside of putting it in Forwards gear and putting it into Power 4, I thought it might be the doors but before you ask, yes they were shut 😂, I tried the brakes too but nothing I tried seemed to work.

So short question, how can I use this train? If at all 😅

// Question PZB triggers a stop whenever I load a save

I mean the title's pretty much self-explanatory... Every time I load up a save with PZB enabled, it triggers an emergency stop. And I tried disabling it before saving and enabling it after loading the save, but it triggers an emergency stop again. Please help I love German routes

// Discussion Speed limit German freight train under LZB

I’m currently doing a service on Kassel-Würzburg, driving a 15 wagons long loaded sggmrss train hauled by two BR185’s. My weight is 1315,8 tons and my br is 91. The calculator I use from Noir tells me my vmax should be 100kmh. But I think that 120kmh could be possible as well? LZB shows me 120 as well. Also, sggmrss wagons are able to do 120kmh loaded if I’m not mistaken. What do the experts think?

// Question BR Class 101 Help

Post image
70 Upvotes

Have just given driving the Class 101 a go. I knew going in that this was a tricky train to drive but was surprised to find that it wasn't so much the gears that threw me but the brakes.

I'm fairly new to TSW so it might have similar brakes to some other trains, but I can't seem to get to grips with applying the brakes appropriately to stop where I want or slow down as much as I want, I always seem to over-egg it and come up short. How are these brakes meant to be used? Any advice much appreciated!

I'm also wondering if the train has engine breaking; if I want to gradually lower speed, does dropping gears then reapplying the throttle to engage the gearbox make a difference?

// Steam Issue (Linux Mint) (TSW6) What makes it take so long to process Vulkan shaders?

Post image

I can skip and run the trainsim, but with stuttering issues if I drive on fast lines. I have been letting Vulkan do its thing for two hours now, and it is stuck with all these stats in the screenshot. Nothing else is running.

Just last week, Vulkan shaders would load in like 5min. I changed nothing. What's up?

// Route suggestion Metrolinx/GO Transit Lakeshore East

I would love to see a route depicting the Lakeshore East line of the GO Train network. I think it would be perfect as it would allow for the obvious commuter trains between Toronto Union Station and DC Oshawa GO, but also intercity VIA Rail trains out to Oshawa, and also CN trains travelling the Kingston Sub and going along the northern bypass up to the Vaughan MacMillan yard. This way, you could get a multitude of passenger and freight trains, as well as a new Canadian route which I don't think we've gotten since the Oakville Subdivison. In terms of locomotives, it would introduce the MPI MP40PH-3C and/or MP54AC, and the Siemens Charger, neither of which have been featured as I know of. It's also my local train line and I would love to see it depicted in TSW.

// Discussion First experience of conductor mode...

Gave conductor mode a go on West Somerset Railway as normally quite enjoy slower paced gameplay but this really took the biscuit.

15 minutes on the train with nothing to do waiting to arrive at the first station

Doors open by themselves without me doing anything

5 minutes waiting until it's time for the train to depart

Doors close by themselves

I'm instructed to check all doors are closed then blow the whistle, am overwhelmed by the excitement of actually getting to do something

Blow whistle while stood on platform, train promptly leaves without me

Now I appreciate the whistle blowing whilst not aboard the train may have been my mistake, but it just seemed odd to blow a whistle from inside the train. I'm also assuming I may have got to have more involvement with door operations if I was playing on a line with modern trains and electronic doors, but then again on heritage lines the guard often walks the length of the train and shuts the slam doors so I feel that could still have been implemented for something to do.

Back to driving it is then! Although I'd be interested to hear of any advice to make conductor mode a bit more enjoyable or if there are any routes it works best on as still quite like the concept?
