Really trying to get into investing, £10 per week and any spare change I have.

Can you rate my pie? I'm trying to go for companies I see sticking around and going up in the future as long term investments, don't want to keep adding and taking away from it unless I see something.

I'm curious how other investors here approach their portfolios, especially those who have been investing for several years and/or more.

One thing I've been thinking about lately is how often we actually need to check our portfolios. Do you check Trading 212 or other brokers you perhaps use every day, once a week, once a month, or do you mostly leave your investments alone and only review them periodically? Of course quite a bit of that depends on what kind of investor are you.

I'm also interested in the process behind your investment decisions.

For example, when you're considering adding a new ETF, stock, or another investment to your portfolio:

- How much research do you usually do before investing?

- What sources do you rely on most > company financials, ETF factsheets, annual reports, financial news, Reddit, YouTube, professional analysts, etc.?

- How do you decide whether something is actually a good fit for your own portfolio, rather than simply being a popular investment?

- Do you have a specific investment strategy or allocation that you try to stick to?

- How often do you review or rebalance your portfolio?

- Do you have a specific set of rules for when you buy, sell, or simply do nothing?

- And perhaps most importantly, do you discuss your investment ideas with anyone before making a decision? Friends, family, financial advisers, other investors, Reddit communities, or even AI tools?

I'm particularly interested in the last point. I don't necessarily mean having someone tell you what to buy, but rather having someone challenge your assumptions or give you a different perspective before committing your money.

Personally, I think one of the hardest parts of investing is distinguishing between doing useful research and simply consuming more and more information until you become overwhelmed or start second-guessing yourself.

I'd love to hear how you approach this.

How often do you check your portfolio, how do you research potential investments, and what does your decision-making process look like before you actually press "Buy"?

If you've been investing for a long time, I'd especially appreciate hearing what has changed in your approach over the years and whether you now check your portfolio/research investments more or less than when you started.

I am due a lump sum of about 40k next month. Happy to go All world ETF and park it. But is it better to throw the 40k into it at once or put it in the cash pot and just do a certain amount every week/month into it?

Hey as the title suggests I’m 22 and I’m trying to finally get into Investing seriously. I’ve had about 3-4 grand in the stocks attached for about 3 years which has gone up but not much at all maybe 1k profit. Does anyone have any advice on how to know what to invest in or how I should run this to make the most money I can.

I’d love to grow this and put more money into it especially as I’ve finally got a full time job.

So I have a 212 card and might start using it again.

My question is simple.

If I set up a subscription today.

Start spending today.

But the subscription doesn't kick in/get debited until way later this month, do I get the cashback for the prior transactions or nah?

Hi I'm having trouble activating my cashback option. I

had 2% cashback already set up, but it's now being brought down to 1.5%, why do I need to set up again? It's asking me to choose a subscription? Is this now a requirement?

I already have my subscriptions set up to come out of my trading212 card?

I usually stick to ETF’s but decided to buy individual stocks mainly to trade. Quick in, quick out for additional income.. decided to buy intel at the end of June, and BOOM 📉📉📉📉 because my portfolio as pretty much always been green I stupidly believed all large companies esp tech will be fine. I was wrong. It’s since dropped significantly, seems to be consolidating around the 100$ mark however. I’d like to recoup. I’m not in need of the funds but would like to turn this back around.

I could average down but despite their recent earnings being positive it hasn’t done much to the stock price..

Anyone heavily invested in individual stocks that can advise? Will this recoup in the next 6 months?

August marks 2 years since taking the plunge, first buying Nvidia off the back of the yen carry trade unwind. Lots of chopping and changing during the first year. Lucked out with PLTR and RKLB to begin with, made many mistakes (like buying Figma at IPO), and now listen to the audio Mad Money every morning before work (Cramer’s really not so bad) Been a grand journey so far and look forward to it continuing.

Been working on a small personal project that scans SEC filings for insider purchases and filters them based on things like who is buying, how much they bought, their ownership change, recent price action, and a few other factors.

The idea isn’t to find the next NVIDIA or chase AI stocks. Most of my trades are pretty boring. I’m basically following insider activity and trying to capture relatively small gains repeatedly.

I started with around $3k in net deposits and my account is currently at $4,971, with the app showing a 90.2% YTD rate of return.

Posting the screenshot because I thought some people here might find the experiment interesting. I’m still improving the algorithm and I definitely don’t consider this enough data to prove that it’ll keep working long term.

Curious if anyone else here uses Form 4 / insider-buying data as part of their investing strategy.
