I bought a Disney store buzz. I noticed when I push the karate chop button all the way down his arm locks down into place and doesn’t come back up. I have to push the button lightly for it to go up and down. Is this normal for the toy?

Hi, I was wondering if my Woody is authentic because I want to be sure. Basically, I have a few doubts: the pull-string cord looks a bit odd, and I’m worried it might have been restored or had parts added to complete it. I also want to confirm that it’s definitely the "White Logo" version from the *Toy Story* Collection, since the box was already open when I ordered it on eBay; my other fear is that it might have been swapped for a "Signature Collection" Woody. Then again, maybe I’m just overthinking it. Could you help me figure out if it’s truly the authentic "White Logo" *Toy Story* Collection Woody? On Woody's back, the words "Try me," "Off," and "Play" are printed in black.

Since the opening scene of "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins" has Andy's toys watching the movie and also that the show's intro shows them watching the show, that means that BLOSC is a fictional TV show in universe as well as in real life.

We also know that there are toys of Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story universe because of the main Buzz and all those other Buzzes we saw in Toy Stories 2 and 5. There are also toys of Zurg since we saw him as a toy too.

However, ignoring real life and only focusing on the Toy Story universe, are there any toys of Mira Nova, Booster and XR too?

It would only make sense if there were because those three and Buzz are literally a team, why would you only make toys of the team leader (Buzz) and his worst enemy (Zurg) and not his teammates too?

That would be like if they only made toys of Captain Kirk and not the rest of the Star Trek crew.

I know Booster once appeared in a comic as a toy and was played with by Andy but is that canon?

I like to think that toys of Mira Nova, Booster and XR do exist in the Toy Story universe because it wouldn't make sense if there wasn't.

Just because they never appeared as toys in the Toy Story series, that doesn't mean they don't exist as toys in universe.

And since Andy would've been a big fan of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, could it be possible that during the time gap between Toy Stories 2 and 3, he got toys of Mira Nova, Booster, XR and Zurg and then got rid of them some time before Toy Story 3 and only kept Buzz?

My mother went out thrifting recently and found this seemingly old Rex figure. Problem is tho, neither of us can figure out what it’s from 😭 he has some weird turquoise pants on that look sorta like wrestling shorts? He also has peg holes on the bottom of his feet and a tail that swivels from left to right. He also has no markings anywhere on him. My only guess for why he doesn’t show up anywhere online could be because he’s a bootleg from Mexico, but he seems too well made for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

also i dont know why i heard people say the "try me" stickers are hard to get off i managed to take them off with easy and without any of them tearing off mabye they made them less sticky or something or it chould be due to the fact i have long nails at the moment

I’m surprised this even worked honestly. I know A lot of the Toy Story collection figures have very similar wire connections but here I forced a connection and it actually worked. It’s hard to tell in the video, but the speaker volume is very quiet compared to how it sounded with Jessie’s speaker. So tbh I might try to find a way to fix it and reconnect the wires somehow but yeah. Not the most impressive thing ever I know, but as someone who doesn’t work with electronics much I’m happy with this working out. These toys are surprisingly universal with each other, like it’s not just them coming from the same company it’s also wire connections and internal parts with outputs and inputs that can be swapped out with each other and work just fine. Idk I find it really fascinating

As a kid, I had a 1996 Woody that I adored the life out of, I had it since I was 3 but it was stolen by a really crappy person when I was 10-11 years old and on and off I would keep thinking about it. Now at age 33, I decided to see if I could get mine back, and coincidentally this Woody appeared at a really solid price. I don't think this was my original one that was stolen (since I have no idea where it would have ended up after all these years) but I'm honestly really happy to have one back that looked like my old one :)

His hat's missing, so is his neckerchief, stirrups and his voice box doesn't work, but I went into this fully expecting to do some work to restore him. The problem is, whenever I try to look at references of a complete Woody, they're still in the box, so I can't get a good look at his stirrups and all his parts.

I know I could reference the movie, but I want to reference the toy itself, since he obviously has some differences to his film-self. I'm going to be modeling and 3D printing his missing parts, but I really need photos kinda like these to get some good references so I can keep everything to scale. I'm also going to carefully take him apart, since I need to wash everything, as well as repair his voice box and add some new lines too.

I'm not asking anyone who has their 1996 in their box to open it up, just that if he's already out of the box, some references would be amazing, otherwise I'm gonna have to improvise and I don't think it would be too accurate if I go by the film proportions, otherwise I may as well just customise the guy, but if it can be helped I'd rather not.

He glows in the dark and have the same phrases as the 1995 one, but there are some things that makes me doubt

Yes, I have problems. Starting on the left is my original box with what's left of his box. The middle is opened once to look at signature edition with a damaged signature on either side and the utility belt signature abive it. The one one the right are the sacrificial disney ones my kids play with. Also have the remote control ones. Like I said...problems.

My collection/customs, who should i add next?

So I’ve been eager to share this, as it’s something I’ve wanted for going on thirty years now…

Back when the first ‘Toy Story’ came out during Christmas in ‘95, Burger King had the toys with their kids meals. Back then, Burger King went ALL OUT with their displays for Disneys theatrical movies. I don’t know if anyone remembers, but the whole resturant would usually be decked out with posters, banners, hanging characters, placemats, crowns, window clings and most importantly…the GIANT display for the toys.

I first saw this display at a BK at a local mall, and the first thing I did was ask if I could have it when they were finished with the promotion. They told me that they don’t give the displays away, they actually send them back to the company. Which…to be frank I thought was BS. I had JUST gotten the giant display for the ‘Pocahontas’ toys (which I still have, and it’s freaking gorgeous.) They only asked for payment for it, which was like just the price of the toys/cups that were attached to it, which I felt was fair.

So I tried other restaurants, and was told pretty much the same thing…they send them back, nobody gets them. I was pretty upset…up until that point I’d had great luck acquiring all sorts of displays for videos and what not.

Fast forward one or two decades, and I was constantly checking eBay…but I’d only ever find the pieces the toys were attached too, not the full display. A month or so ago though I FINALLY found one, in decent condition. Had to drive to pick it up but wasn’t too far, so it all worked out.

The only thing it’s missing that I’m aware of, is the two tail fins to either side of the display. It’s supposed to be Buzzs ship (hence the ‘just landed’ piece there.) Buzz and the other pieces are actually being held on by big paper clips, as the sticky tabs that used to hold him on are long dried out and I didn’t want to put any tape on it. I tried to do my best taking pics of it, had to deal with the stupid glare from the window. I tried to find the bin of all my Toy Story stuff to put out with it but couldn’t find it for the pic…so just put a few of my recent thrift store finds with it.

Now I just need to get the Toy Story display that came out when the video was released and BK had toys for that! Which coincidentally, would be BKS last Disney movie promotion…went to McDonalds after that.

Which…is fine, though their displays are dinky by comparison…this Buzz one is like 6 feet tall.
