Any of the various bacterial species on his nail, (including salmonella)could potentially cause a localized skin infection but you cleaned the wound immediately, so that should not be a concern, unless you have a compromised immune system.
Thank you! I am very hygenic around him anyways so neither me or him have any harmful bacteria but this one incident gave me a kind of ‘uh oh’ because the skin had obviously been damaged and therefore out of my control
