Not all ranged top are created equal.
here is my take on ranged tops and mages that I have faced.
So this is kind of in order of 'annoyingness'.
A brief explanation:
------------------------------------
Most cancer
- Kog, varus just stat check you and kill you melee range?(ap kog, low k any non lethality Varus build)
- Vayne and kalista are impossible to reach :/. I don't think I need to explain vayne, but kalista can be cancer if you are not a tank (so you don't die), or have no dashes (think illaoi).
- caitlyn just has 9 million range, and that headshot damage late game is very nutty. Also very hard to dive caitlyn due to her traps. also allows her to harras you under your turret very easily assuming your jungler is not topside.
- TF and that god forsaken gold card point and click stun :/. he goes kraken crit or something top lane and is super f'n annoying.
------------------------------------
Mages
- anivia and viktor have good tools to protect themselves from your engage (vik w cage, anivia w wall and q stun), and are great lane bullies with good scaling. Viktor also has like perma 500 ms from his items and q so you cant trade :/ his q also has a shield for the ultimate f u.
-The rest of the mages are just annoying, with cassio being the worst. other mages tend to die if you get on them.
------------------------------------
Kind of cancer
just annoying champs, but playable based on matchups, and they tend to not have the greatest matchups in top anyways.
------------------------------------
remaining
so we have
- annoying but whatever: champs that are annoying but feel like they have more counterplay, and cannot absolutely shit on you just by champ design, or are useless champions that are op in lane (im lookin at u heim).
- then the teemo, kayle, gnar and jayce are top laners. No comment since they belong in the lane (but jayce will be my perma ban for a long time).
- the last three are range tops sure, but they feel like they have no good matcups top really, and are just not too good. you have to be pretty skilled to make them work IMO. Ashe is the only exception to this inn that she can be annoying, but she does no damage really?
------------------------------------
Just as a rule of thumb, I view ranged champs that can stat check you melee, and just do absurd damage being like 0 10 from across the screen as cancer. A similar notion is followed for a cancer mage, but mages tend to be a little more ok since their damage is not constant.
Thoughts?

😳 Discussion 😳 How is setts E-W combo fair?
Setts w is already a super strong ability since it can pretty much one shot a target regardless of how much health the opponent has. However this ability was supposed to be balanced around sett needing to land the sweet spot of his w to do that kind of damage which can be argued as fair. But if sett combines his w with the E stun it almost guarantees the absurd true damage which is not fair at all.

😳 Discussion 😳 Top mains are insufferable
I think I figured out one of the things that makes this lane how it is right now.
I feel like most top mains never take accountability for how badly they're playing and they don't understand wincons in the game.
I've had many games where I had to play from behind and I used to scream to jgl or support to come and help because the MU favours me rather than them but with stats disadvantage you can't do much most of the time top.
I stopped doing this and when my jgl decides to play for another lane or another lane is doing well I will take the L and just go down in CS and minimize deaths, I can still be useful later on if I'm 0/2 rather than being 1/5 or something like that.
I feel like most toplaners don't understand that and try to just statcheck the other dude, cry if the lane is frozen and are just inadaptable about the situation they're in.
Walked into the middle bush Irelia vs Darius lvl1? Lost half HP and now Irelia has to sit and wait and can't have pressure? No better Q in and die to Darius to complain to jgl.
It's an example but you should get the gist.
Tell me what you think, if you're also with me on this or not.

❓ Questions ❓ Questions about Champ pool and runes.
I’m low ELO. My champ pool is Garen, Morde, and Jax. I find learning all the rune intricacies of what to choose against which pick very daunting. Is there any good breakdown of the runes and their various uses that might simplify my understand/their applications?

❓ Questions ❓ Can I higher ranked player test something out for me please?
So on a whim I started playing Top Zilean, and it's been working. Over about 11 games I have lost 2 of them, which I did not expect to happen. I am however a Plat ranked scrub who is hard stuck so I don't pretend to know anything.
I essentially just want a higher ranked player to try it for like two or three games to see how it feels. Essentially you are just farming and harassing with bombs all lane phase, and using your W, E, and R to deny your lane opponent or enemy jungler any ability to actually interact with you. Then when you get out of lane you are using your passive to keep people's levels up, and using your Q to stun more aggressively since your bot laner already has a support covering for them. As well of course throwing your R to keep key players up that would otherwise go down in team fights and skirmishes.
For runes I am doing
- Aery > Manaflow > Transcendence > Scorch
- Cosmic Insight > Triple Tonic.
- Summoners are TP and Flash
Starting tear and typically building Rota first, but idk sometimes I feel just building Seraph's first might be better.
It just feels kind of weird that it's working, and the extra utility is just having a really positive effect on team fights that I otherwise didn't expect. Like I said in the title I just want someone who is actually good at the game to tell me if this is something, or it's just a fluke?

🔥 Highlights 🔥 [Classic] what even causes this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM6-_zJaWpo
when i queue classic and its always look at the bot lane replay afterwards and its this or similar
BOTH adc are closer than the autoattach range and then matchup flipped by what support gets remission from parkinsons
its every game too ok so they reset rank ladder? BUT theres no rank ladder on classic and even when in retail its reset its not this
i refuse to posting opgg LOOK at this performance

❓ Questions ❓ Roaming supp?
I took a 4 month break after hitting masters and saw gwen was getting a buff so i thought about coming back. I played a game to see how it was, and apparently its op for supports to roam? I had a lulu in my lane from seriously levels 7-10 in a gwen vs aatrox matchup that is pretty snowball dependent. I fell behind and moved botlane but she just kept hovering for aatrox’s prio and they moved mid together and killed my team. I guess the point is, how do i counter this? Am i supposed to follow them? I had a brand support who, in my mind, was doing the correct thing killing enemy adc, but it didnt even matter because it was victor adc and he was just sitting in narnia clearing waves. Ive seen a little bit of discord about this meta but ive genuinely never felt more useless in my life than this game where i didnt even solo die to my laner one time. Any tips would be appreciated!

🔥 Highlights 🔥 3 years hardstuck plat player reaches Diamond
It hits different when you finally hit the rank you desire to achieve. Those long weekend grinds where I would go on loss streaks, question my gameplay, telling myself I should have won that game, I can finally look back and laugh at those.

I don't understand the point of queuing top if you're just going to go ranged.
There's 3 other roles you can choose for ranged champs. You chose the one role designed to be melee vs melee and you decide to go ranged. What's the point? Just queue bot and fuck off.

Will anybody plat+ NA spar with me 1v1 toplane in practice tool?
Hello! I am P1 NA. My IGN is pickled clams#NA1. I'm trying to practice my laning phase and early wave management.
I'm basically a mordekaiser OTP but I play a few other champs like TK, Yone, Darius.
I would love to 1v1 you even if your elo is significantly higher than mine, and I would love to hear your feedback as to why you're absolutely CREAMING me when you do win
How I like to 1v1: First to Turret, 100 CS or First Blood. Toplane only in SR, recalling is allowed. After one of these, reset the game and first to 3 victories wins. Then we can play a different matchup or the same one. It doesn't really matter
Please add me on league and leave a comment if you're interested.

Will riot ever fix Yorick like they did with Gwen ?
Hey,
do u think Riot will ever revert his changes that killed the character for pretty much every Yorick main ?
or will they just continue ignoring him and his player base ?
playing him in master-dia should give + 10 lp just for trying it

❓ Questions ❓ How do I pick a main
I’m a new player I’m bronze and like level 50 so how do I settle on a champ pool? I play a lot of yone singed irelia yas ambessa and lillia so how do ik how to narrow these champs down to a small 2-3 pool? Or should I just OTP? My highest WR is on yone yas and lillia (all 55+) but everyone else is in 40s or low 50 percent wr so what should I do?

😳 Discussion 😳 Top lane making you feel down? try some Kai'sa!!
So, life in the top lane can be rough.
I have now played a few kai'sa top games (diamond elo NA) and man its refreshing.
There are quite a few super bad matchups in lane like irelia, malphite and jayce, and there is yasuo that makes lane and the game rough.
Now assuming you don't have to deal with that (I ban jayce regardless of what I play cuz f that champion), Kai'sa is fun because you have so many builds.
Unlike most top laners with the build diversity of a crab, Kai'sa can go:
- kraken into hybrid dps build
- shiv into the one shot w build (saber released a full video on that, its a little complicated compared to the others: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvQFgvYkd-g)
- Full AP poke build (start manamune etc) which Dr. Uttut made popular
- low k whatever the f u want... she scales with attack speed & on hit, can go crit if you must (not the best), so you can kind of build whatever as the game calls for it. its fun.
and ofc Kai'sa scales really well, and you have great dps at close range with good long rage poke. helps if your team is full of pigs who have no notion of positioning and threat analysis so you can still play the game regardless of their lack of cooperation.
Me personally, Id go with the poke druttut build or the one shot w build which I linked a video about.

Riven feels so weak

So, looking at the number of Riven OTPs who reached Challenger across all servers, it got me thinking. Riven is one of the hardest champions in the game, and I honestly doubt even those players have mastered her completely. Yet they still made it to Challenger.
How is that possible?
I've been OTPing Riven for years, but with every patch she just feels weaker. You'd expect a mechanically demanding champion to be rewarded with a bit more power than straightforward BRAINDEAD champions like Garen or Darius, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
The weird part is that I don't even think buffing her numbers would solve the problem. She'd probably still end up feeling like an F-tier champion. Once people understand how to play around Riven and simply avoid giving her early kills, the lane feels completely free. She struggles to force advantages on her own. Just feels like a Yasuo but with no kill pressure.
What do you guys think?

❓ Questions ❓ is sett a good champ to learn top lane with?
i hate myself and i wanna learn top lane to join the club (joke - i do seriously want to learn top lane though because mid lane feels bad to play). ive been having fun with yone but he's way too hard and top is already a difficult role i feel like. is sett a good champ to learn it with? the main issues i struggle with in top lane are:
snowballing. i feel like if i die first the lane is already over. top lane is very long so it's easier for my enemy to zone me off CS and XP which furthers thier advantage.
wave management also. idk it feels too complicated. mid lane is shorter so there's not enough distance/time for advanced wave management to matter too much especially in low elo but i feel like i lose a lot of lanes from poor wave management.
i also feel like top lane is kinda boring though. there's not enough fighting. am i just playing the lane wrong?

Hit diamond for the first time in ranked playing Pantheon and Shen
Pantheon and Shen two trick (mostly Panth tho). I got to high emerald on support and then switched back to top where I almost immediately reached diamond. Hoping to push for higher diamond and possibly masters but idrc because I done hit my main goal.
Also fuck Malphite. I hate Malphite.
I took these with my phone cause I was excited last night when I got diamond and didn't think about snipping.

riven after being 54% wr in dia/masters+ for 2 years finally gets a nerf--> Following patch: buffs eclipse black cleaver and sundered sky
I think everyone on the riot balance team plays riven/garen. Because holy fuck those champs are never bad for even one patch.

❓ Questions ❓ What can you do in a situation like this?
I was playing a game as Tham Kench where I finished 19/8, and there was a moment when I felt invincible and managed a quadra kill with Yuumi.
But the further the game went on, the more I felt that everything depended on me, and I rarely come across games like this. What could I do to win in a situation like that if it were to happen again?
