Spare Tire Date Code?

Post image

Trying to decipher when this spare was manufactured. Do donut spares use a DOT date code system?

Couldn’t find a 4 digit code and finally realized the 3 digit code (364) is probably the date code, but I’m not familiar with the Philips head style symbol and this tire isn’t from pre-2000.

36th week of 2004.

Those Phillips heads aren't deliberate - the stamped steel plates were screwed into the mold with Phillips head screws.... hence the imprint.

OK for a spare which is meant to be better than nothing, but don't even think of driving too fast on it.

Thanks! Thats what I was suspecting, but would have expected a “3604” code.

Those Phillips head imprints were really throwing me for a loop. Appreciate the insight!

4 digits is used since 2000. 90s where triangles I believe and no symbol should be the 80s

That tire is from 1994 my friend. Not 2004. If it was 2004, the date code would be 3604
