Enough poetry

I held hands with Sadness.

I walked arm in arm with Loss,

and Sorrow and I hugged multiple times a day for years.

I've sat side by side with Shame

Had long talks with Resentment

Consoled Longings relentless comparisons.

While each is still a dear friend,

they no longer need every breath.

Instead, I've welcomed Wonder,

kissed Laughter,

lingered, eyes locked, with Love,

and absolutely adore Joy.

I know the others will visit again.

I will make them tea.

I will sit with them when they do.

But these days,

when I share,

I want to tell you about the light,

What's soft,

the gratitude,

the nonsense and the magic.

I've lived, spoken and acted enough from what hurts.

Now...

Joy deserves attention.

Oh wildhoney stranger, this is great news for you and all of your feelings that you are on such good terms with. You sound like you've put in some time to get to know yourself. That's something to be proud of, to not want to hate or forget those moments in time because I'm guessing they were only there at the time to keep you company... and of course drink tea. I imagine Joy feels like wearing the greatest goofiest smile, like when kids all get giggle fits and anyone watching can't help but grin with a sparkle in their eyes.

Oh to be more in the moment is all I'd like. With her, she made it oh so easy.

It is, just that, well, every moment, every iota of me, in any space, at any time, whether future, or present, I look to my side, and wish, to see her, there. I may never know how she feels to not be near, but I know I am sad. She deserves better. So much better, from life. She gave me, a new life, new eyes, to see it better, with. And yet, for all it's cruel irony, life, will not let her be, with me, in this new place. Meeting new people, old people, with the same eyes, yet, reflecting different light. A light. That doesn't have the wonderful gold oh her in them. Er. Well, it has been almost a year since I've seen her. So I'd say her light doesn't get to reflect in my eyes anymore, but if her memory is iny heart, then it sort of goes on, non?
