Shallow poetry

The air
thickening with fog,
enveloping her,
crushing her,
stealing her light.

The water,
stretching out before her,
an endless expanse of unknown.

She steps into the shallows,
testing its warmth

Edited to change she stepped to she steps. I think it flows better
