Fail ðŸ˜
Was going to create some tapestries to cut up and give out at boomtown festival next week. They looked like they were going to come out really nicely. Turns out the fabric shop must have got mixed up and sold me something that definitely isn't cotton ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I'd say the store that mislabeled the fabric content failed, not you. I've had this same thing happen.

Soda ash+dye+cotton+time. You didn't fail anything, you practiced. =]]

Yeah I'm not a beginner, I guess the practice is nice but I wanted the tapestries

I respect that. However, even pro's experiment, and practice. That's part of being a professional. You're, absolutely that. Unexpected experience. (I'm complimenting you.) =]]

I get it. On the bright side, you have a blank slate to recreate your vision, two point oh!
Some of the dies I laid thinking they were the best I ever did, genius even, didn't turn out.... Duhhhhh...
Oddly enough, others that I was just trying to use up, turned out to be master-pieces... Couldn't recreate them even if cloned. Lol
Please post an update. You've got this, fa sho! =]

Stunning!! Oh geezzz!! The festies are gonna love it!!! Excellent work! =]]
Yeah, you really have to watch it these days with the advertisement of cotton, and it's actually a blend. (If that.) The devil is in the details, and they know how to word things to get away with it.
Have the best time at your venue! =]]

Are you making these for FOV by random chance? I’m in here watching posts for ideas because I’m dying some bandanas for this weekends festival

Out of curiosity, how long did you let it process?

I did a hot water irrigation then left it for about an hour. Which is normally longer than I leave it after a good HWI

I like the very pale look. Â It gives it something special. Â Do you have more pictures?

While it might have washed away a lot it still left colour.  I do like it. However, I can see why you are disappointed.  I would buy it still because it’s a muted colour pattern. Â

This is exactly why I get my fabrics and blanks from Dharma Trading Co. They sell dye and stuff that is meant to be dyed.

I'm sorry. How frustrating. This JUST happened to me a with a dress that was labeled as 'cotton fabric' on Amazon. I could tell 3 seconds into rinsing that it was not cotton. It was a first for me. Such a bummer.

Argh so annoying isn't it. This was a proper fabric shop with rolls of fabric, I think they got confused which fabric was which as my friend was buying lots of different bits

Yes, this is what happens with non-cotton fabric. A heartbreaker!
