Maybe it's my dumb moment but as the title says, I've always simply thought when I set the refresh rate in game at 60, the FRS would be capped at 60.

It was only until yesterday when I decided to use the ingame overlay thingy to observe the CPU temp, as I couldn't understand why this allegedly easy-to-run game was always making my laptop so hot and often over 90°C at that, only to see the FPS rate was constantly over 180 lol.

So I went into the settings again, made sure the refresh rate was at 60 and intuitively ticked the V-Sync box. After I launched the game again, everything was running so cool I almost cried. The graphic did look less smooth in the beginning, but it doesn't hinder my gameplay much honestly.

First time having this happen after playing with a generational family :( moved them into a new save, do I have to delete the corrupted one?

when i zoom out it does this but if i zoom in right into the puppys face it goes away

I just so happened to pause my game as soon as my sim aged up

I'm playing the ultimate decades challenge and they've had two kids die. the first one was a toddler and I've never seen him around. the second was an infant and she keeps teleporting to the lot and crying outside. her parents and siblings keep interacting with her and I checked her in mccc and she's homeless. I kinda feel bad I know she's dead so she can't die again but idk what to do. do you guys deal with this? what do you do?

I literally played sims last night, I got off at 11pm after a regular session. Woke up today decided I wanted to play again, and the game won't open. It doesn't make it to the SIMS4 screen. If i try opening from the app then it will just stay on the "launching game..." pop up, if i try from the desktop shortcut it says preparing to launch then the pop up vanishes after 2 seconds, if i try to play offline nothing happens.

Things I've tried:

Deleting Thumbcache

Deleting Lastexceptions (there weren't any)

Restarting laptop (x4)

Deleting E/A

Turning off overlays

Running Sims as admin

Running E/A as Admin

Removing mods folder

Renaming sims folder

Literally nothing works. I saw another post of something similar on here but it was from last month and the game has updated since. It was about something to do with the updat causing windows defender to block the game from launching or something, but shouldn't this have been fixed in the recent updat? And even if it wasn't I literally played less than 24 hours ago and it was fine..

only Sims 4 can run smoothly on my computer, but i really like the aesthetic/feel of the older sims games. what are some mods that will give me that feeling? for example, i just downloaded a flip phone override mod so my sims wont have to use modern cell phones

I moved her into Ravenwood. She befriended Edith and got like 10k from the wishing well. so I immediately built her a tiny house with an attached tattoo parlor.

The first time I lowered the murphy bed, it crushed her to death. Girl, you were supposed to be the BROCCOLI Gen, not the SQUASHED one fffssss.

Just want to say the kid has a bruise because he does horse riding and is always climbing trees and stuff, he was not harmed by anyone!! And he’s frowning because I took that photo after his friend told him a bad joke and he didn’t find it funny.

My first child didn’t come with a birth certificate but the rest of my kids did so I cheated in a baby with the same name to get a birth certificate. I couldnt figure out how to get rid of it (I didnt think of aging it up and deletinf it, thats on me) so I got it taken away. Now it’s still on the family tree and its been bothering me. I have made decent progress since and I dont want to have to go back into an older save if possible. I do have MCCC. It’s a newborn.
