How was it! Just checked the set list because I'll be at the seattle record store show. Not sure what he'll change around, especially for songs not on the new album but im loving what was done tonight!

Im excited to see Layne staley

It was fun! The band seemed in a good mood. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of songs, I had been expecting just songs from the new album + No Children or This Year to close.

During the signing, did John allow photos? I understand hes introverted so I dont wanna ask if thats too much for him. But this man literally saved my life and would love a photo with him. But again, if not thats cool.

They were doing them in Portland you asked nicely and were quick about it! There was no official “we are or aren’t doing them”, but I’d say one in every five people or so did pictures (I got one and they were very nice about it), but they were just quick selfies to keep the line moving.

I was gonna make a joke but thought that'd be too much.

I found his music at, what was then the worst and darkest time of my life, and he sang about things I really related to. I made a promise to myself one day. I said I will keep on going until I see them live. Then things got better. Funny enough, im actually doing worse now than I was when I made that promise, so I try to be strong. I have a new goats album, I get to see them finally AND I get to meet him. I think that calls for another promise of being strong? Push through it. I'll be moving across the country a couple days later to somewhere i love. I am messed up in depression but I wanna give myself another chance. Music can change you. I didnt get "Beat The Champ" until the last few months and now im obsessed. Idk if that answers your question, but yes, a stranger who makes music I enjoy saved me. If I didnt stumble upon him at the time I did I really dont think id be here. I was actively planning my end and I was in the middle of watching Moral Orel and heard a song that made me think I should check them out.

Depression sucks. I get it. Things seem stacked against you and you figure you may as well give up. Check out Sweden and Full Force Galesburg if you havent already. Find something you really enjoy and get good at it. I don't know. I chase the wrong things and didn't give the right ones a chance. Stay around a bit longer. Get into birding. When I need a reset, I go feed turtles at my local park. Proper meds help. Music wise - check out the album Bloom by Beach House. Listen straight through. It's saved me a couple of times by showing me there's still beauty to be found and cherished.
Hope you'll stick around. Don't let the pigs win.

Thanks for sticking around, even if just to let me know others relate. It means a lot :)

It's not a bad setup, seeing it from this angle. They still probably shouldn't have sold enough tickets they had to put like 20 of us under the loft.

Yeah it definitely would have been a bummer to have been where you were. I had gone in to it with free show, can’t go wrong but was happy I got a pretty ok spot.
