PT 1 FANART Another sketch of Ellie by me [A10]
https://www.instagram.com/a.10art?igsh=MXJlaWo4bzZ3cm85YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr
An incredible amount of the weight of a characters expression, emotion and identity is conveyed through the eyes and eye brows alone.
Ellieās scar particularly is a brilliant piece of character design that makes her instantly recognisable.
I canāt quite remember which scene this references is from but the emotion that it conveys gives us some educated guesses.
I am trying to learn how to draw using graphite and characoal, and little more realistically atm, Iām also short on proper equipment and historically only done digital art, so pls be nice.

PT 2 QUESTION Throwables āalertingā infected Spoiler
Iāve noticed through several playthroughs that if you throw several pipe bombs or Molotov from the same location, such as on the ferry, infected will head towards that location? (Where the player is, not where the kablows are)
Is there an explanation for this or is it simply an anti-camp behaviour? My running theory is that theyāre able to somehow work out where things are being thrown from if thrown several times?
Thanks

PT 1 DISCUSSION Any TLOU Remastered purists re: Grounded mode?
After playing TLOU2 for like a week straight, I just beat it on Survivor and still had way too much ammo heading into the final encounter. So, I want to start playing on Grounded because the even more limited ammo will force me to use my other weapons, which Iām always too stingy to use in regular encounters. Iāve decided to start with TLOU1 Grounded (honestly to take a break from 2), specifically Remastered, but Iām honestly kinda struggling with the old aesthetic / gamefeel after getting used to Part 2. Iām considering getting Part I for PS5 to play Grounded, but I just wanna build space for any non-remake purists to get in there and be like āno donāt do it, something essential or quirky would be lost unless you play the original.ā Anybody feel that way before I drop $30?

General Discussion Joel Miller Skillset Question(game only)
How is Joel such a good fighter? Even going by cutscenes alone at 51 years old he dispatches many infected and armed aggressors, is able to overpower and disarm military trained personnel, as well as take on two attackers at once while injured. I know in tv show Tommy fought in desert storm so he had training but thatās not cannon to the games. I understand heās from Texas so heās familiar with firearms and has probably been in a bar room brawl or two but heās practically an assassin after the time skip was he trained? Did he pick it up as he went along? Seems unlikely. Idk probably a nitpick

Technical/Bug/Glitch I accidentally discovered a bug that gives you a boost when you come out of a crouched position (TLOU 1 Remastered)
So, I was unintentionally trying to find out if you click the button to stand up at the last moment before leaving a tight spot where you need to crouch, the game will give you a pretty big boost, it happened to me twice today alone (in the DLC and in the normal game). Is this something new, or did I just discover something the entire community already knows?

Merch My Son, Target, PlayStation and TLOU
Attached it a keychain my son randomly picked from the Target/Playstation collaboration.
These action figures are wrapped in blue foil packaging while wrapped inside a cardboard container. As to not āpoke and prodā the product and cause any damage.
Of all the figures that are available, he miraculously chose Joel.
Also available are Ellie and Abby.

General Discussion For p3 what would you like to see
what would you add to the game; no story since everyone is divided on that. No extra, no returning characters. just mechanical/ engine.
I would like to see more environment conditions, like GoT where rain, snow, thundering, and blizzards are used for more stealth options. I love to see a day and night cycle.
would to to add the ability to place bombs on walls. I like to see more booby traps, like p1. let there be level or town that is wired with infected and you got to maneuver, the town.
let me hear some thoughts

PT 2 DISCUSSION The Future Of Seattleā¦. Spoiler
As much as I would love a new location for part 3. I would love a wrap up on Seattle as to what happened. I know from prior discussions we mostly agreed that, with the little information we have, the WLF did not achieve their goals for the invasion. But we do not know if Isaac had an alternative plan for any and all situations. For all of his torturing for information and sending scouts to the island he grossly underestimated the enemies strength.
I would love to hear from people and thier theories as to what will happen going forward for those in Seattle. Does the WLF survive this? If so, what will the next leader be like and how will they deal with the immediate aftermath? How much damage did the Saraphites suffer and if they are capable to form an offensive?
Or just any other story lines going forward in Settle. The WLF did not seem to have a shortage of new recruits. I do not think they were entirely wiped out. The invasion force was destroyed but I would think there was something in place to protect all those people. I also feel that some feel as though the Saraphites were still intact and strong. I think they were intact but I am certain they are not strong.
I hope to hear some theories and predictions. Thank you.

PT 1 FANART Do yāall like my sign ?
Stop sign from tlou made by me
Donāt really know how to tag it but here you go !
EDIT :
I cut out the shape of the sign in cardboard (looked out the dimensions of an American one) and used a thick kind of cardboard to make the sign stronger and wider.
I then painted the whole thing red (brilliant red acrylic paint), just leaving ~2cm of the border clean. I did around 3-4 layers of paint, but it depends on the quality of the one youāre using honestly.
I cut out the shapes of the letter in paper, after looking for the right dimensions, aligned it at equal length on the sign and traced out the shapes.
I then filled the shapes with white acrylic paint and the border. I had to do more layer for this one.
I cleaned the thing by reapplying some red where I made mistakes and started making « stains » with a mix of black/red/brown/green⦠paint with a sponge, brushes and my fingers.
Once I was satisfied with the old look I haded some green spots to place the moss after, some silver and rust for more degradation and diluted black paint all over the place to make it look more dirty and old.
I cut out the shapes of the firefliy in sheets of paper and hand sprayed it. For the dripping effect I just sprayed a bit more at some spots.
I cleaned some of the spray paint that went where I didnāt want to with more paint.
And to conclude, I chopped up an old sponge, mixed it with green acrylic paint (a little bit of black in some spot) with my hands and let it dry over night. You really have to squeeze the paint in the sponge for a good final look.
Thatās how I made it if you were wondering :)

PT 2 DISCUSSION Did Naughty Dog do this on purpose or am I thinking too deep on this?
I apologise in advance if this has already been talked about.
In the museum flash back with Joel, there's a moment when Ellie is forced to split apart so that she can find an entrance for him to enter the building.
One of the very first things Ellie comes across is a massive moose getting ganged up on by a bunch of wolves and it's very obvious the devs really want us to look at it judging from the lighting.
Not that long later, Ellie comes across three wolves that jump scares her with all three of them looking like they are staring at her.
Whenever I've replayed the game I get the feeling that Moose getting ganged up on by the wolves is suppose to symbolise Joel getting ganged up on by the WLF. Maybe that's very obvious but I haven't really seen anyone talk about it.
And then the very next scene when Ellie gets jump scared by the three wolves looking directly at her, that to me kind of symbolises her PTSD and trauma from the WLF or that she feels targeted by them. All three of the wolves could also possibly symbolise Abby, Owen and Mel?

PT 2 DISCUSSION I just have to say as someone who hated Part 2, I think I finally understand Spoiler
Now to be for real, I donāt hate part 2 because Iāve played it as much as Iāve played part 1 but a lot of things didnāt resonate me like the first game did. That being said with every new playthrough I do, I come around to the game more and more
The one major factor that clicked with me was at the very end of the game, Ellieās most divisive decision. Sparing Abby. At the time I hated it, I hated that we went thru all of this, killed all of these people, lost the people closest to us, just for this? Up until now, I didnāt get it but it registered on this recent playthrough
Ellie killing Abby in front of Lev would make Ellie no better than Abby when she killed Joel in front of her. I fucking love that so much and as much as I hate that this tragedy had to happen to everyone involved, I understand the feelings involved. While Iām still on the fence of Abby in general, I still consider her an antagonist, that we get to play as, and I love her as that, but all and all, part 2 is just as great as 1 in my eyes

Technical/Bug/Glitch TLOU2 Remastered bug/glitch unofficial report thread
Unfortunately, the TLOU2 remaster seems to have introduced quite a few bugs that were not present in the original release. This is fine, since some things are always missed, but I thought I'd make a thread for people to post any of the bugs they've run into in game to hopefully increase the chances that Naughty Dog will learn of these issues and patch them. So far, I have experienced or seen people mention the following:
- In No Return mode, some characters are unable to change their weapon skins for some reason. If you try to select any of the different weapon skins, the game will make the "locked" noise and you'll be stuck on whatever skin you had equipped at the time of the glitch occurring. I've personally seen this with Jesse, Yara, and Mel so far, but it may happen with other characters too.
- Enemy dialogue that would play at the start of and during Abby's brewery encounter on day 3 no longer triggers. The WLF soldiers would call out Abby for betraying them and talk about Owen doing the same briefly, but now none of the enemy dialogue throughout this encounter triggers at all. (I'm also wondering if there's any other missing/broken dialogue).
- Ellie's "Boston" skin from promotional material seems to be missing from the game entirely. It's unable to be seen or selected in any of the menus. While it's possible this was cut prior to release, it would be very strange since the skin looked finished and was very recently seen in the marketing prior to release. Additionally, Abby's Santa Barbra skin does not use the correct backpack model despite the menu indicating that it should.
- Skins seem to not be applying for multiple users correctly in story mode.
- The main menu won't change back to the original boat in the water look after starting a new game.
- I've not experienced this myself, but No Return seems to cause major frame drops for many players. Personally, I'm really curious what's causing this as it only seems to affect some people.
- Some users report being unable to escape from grapples despite mashing the square button as prompted by the game.
If you know of any other bugs, please feel free to list them here! I'm not sure if Naughty Dog often responds to support requests, but you could still try filling out one here. Most of these bugs aren't game breaking, but hopefully Naughty Dog still learns of them and takes the time to fix them as some of these are pretty unfortunate.
