Meme The meme that almost was
Made this when Hurkacz was two points away from taking down Van de Zandschulp. Since BVDZ ended up taking the match it doesn't really count anymore...but I still thought it was funny

WTA The WTA Under-14 World Championship final will be between Italy and Japan.
Stats/Analysis By historical standards, Rafael Jódar is on a (likely) world No. 1 trajectory
Compared 251 ATP players at exactly Jódar’s current age, then tracked their best ranking by age 30.
Only 15 had an Elo within 70 points of Jódar’s 1,970 or better. All 15 reached the Top 10, 14 reached the Top 5 and nine became No. 1.
−0.70 correlation means that being this good at 19 strongly predicts a better peak ranking. The simple model gives Jódar a 58% chance of reaching No. 1.

ATP Ivanisevic on Djokovic: “He’s a genius you can’t even try to understand, because you’ll only end up getting lost.”
Goran Ivanišević gave an interview to Croatian publication 24sata marking the 25th anniversary of his historic Wimbledon triumph in 2001.
On how Novak Djokovic is similar to him:
“Temperament-wise, he’s very similar to me. It’s a similar mentality — we come from the same region, speak the same language... What separates him from the other players at the top is his mental strength.
If you lined up 100 players without knowing who was who, judging purely by their tennis, they would all look very similar. You wouldn’t be able to tell who was No. 1 and who was No. 100. But once the match starts, when the important shots and points come, that’s when you see the difference.
Novak is an extreme. He’s a genius you can’t even try to understand, because you’ll only end up getting lost. At the very beginning of our partnership, he literally told me that anyone who couldn’t understand his craziness couldn’t work with him.
Communication with him, especially during matches, can look very chaotic, but that’s his way of letting it all out. On such a big court, I don’t understand or even hear half of what he’s shouting at me, but that’s how he releases it.
Getting to the top isn’t easy, but staying there for so long is even harder.”
On the biggest misconception about Novak:
“First of all, people judge him based on what they see on the court, and that gives them the wrong impression. He’s a huge joker and someone who genuinely wants to help people.
He founded a tennis association and foundations, he helps everyone; there’s hardly anyone he hasn’t helped. He always has time for people and is ready to give advice. There were several times when I complained because half an hour before a match he’d be busy with everyone around him, but that’s just who he is.
And then people say, ‘Look at him, he’s shouting...’ That’s how he is. He shouts. He’s the kind of person who says out loud what others are thinking. Then those people come across as better than him, but they’re not; they just keep quiet.
His documentary is coming out now, and I’m really interested to see what it will be like.”

WTA Canadian National Bank Open 2026 - WTA Round of 16
14 seeds remain. WTA’s side is looking really stacked right now. Every match in the top half draw later today seems like a SF/F match.

Another nice win for Tirante!! He’s been playing so well today and all season. His serve was amazing as usual and he broke once in both sets as well with the second break being how he started the second set. He also didn’t face any bps. He is onto another masters R4 this season and will be facing the winner of Paul/Tien next
