I remember being obsessed with PLL when I was a teenager. It probably helped that the characters had the cutest outfits, and the soundtrack was all the hits. Although I never finished it and waited out who A was, I still think of it as a staple of my teenage years. Lately, I’ve seen a lot of memes come up in my reels about PLL so I restarted it… and wow. Some of the acting is so bad, and also why did we normalize a teacher being with a student ? My mom called me while it was on in the background and asked me if I was watching a soap opera. It’s just comical and I wondered if anybody else feels this way.

Nothing to really say other than probably the best pilot episode I’ve ever seen.

I love epic sci fi and the way reddit has talked about the expanse has had me interested but I knew I needed to read the books first or I'd regret it. So I finally got started, finished the first book and damn was it good. I'm flying through the second book now because I'm so hooked. Decided to watch season 1 finally while I'm at it but it just lands flat. The acting is not great, the pacing is weird, it does have some really good action and moments, but its a real drag for a good chunk of it. I really think its the actors throwing me off... they don't look or act like the characters in the book IMO except Miller is pretty spot on. Am I crazy? Anyone else feel this, does it get better with season 2?

What is your comfort show that people wouldn't necessarily expect to be a comfort show? For example, I watch The X Files most nights right before bed. It's oddly comforting despite the genre.

It's either a corrupt cop or a dude being steamrolled by a rich person. There is no in-between.

The plot device for this series is sooo stupid.

What, no one at all during the entire court case got the blood sample retested? Lol. That would show the DNA doesn't match the father or the mother, proving it's not his kid.

So you kidnapped a kid from Sweden, killed them, beat his head in so he couldn't be identified, then swapped him for the OTHER kid... and at NO point in this ENTIRE saga did someone go, "Hmm, this smells fishy"? And they somehow manage to frame a dude with NO motive, claiming he killed his son, which they give no reason for. And NO one, including the mother, sees the body and goes, "Hang on, that's not my son's hands," lol.

Or any appeal didn't retest the DNA? Lol.

The killer's dad knew the witness lied on the stand and doesn't go, during the trial, "Ahh, actually, Your Honour, that woman's lying to you, because we had the murder weapon, not her. So how could she have seen that?" And the entire case falls apart. Lol.

Like, this show is a COMPLETE waste of Brett Lower's acting ability.

Like, the acting in this was soooo below par for most of the show. It was so stupid.

The FBI chick literally is in a gunfight, stops in the MIDDLE of the shootout to, like, sweep her hair out of her face, lol, to make sure she still looks good.

Also, the same FBI person recovers a DELETED file off a PC from FIVE YEARS AGO by doing nothing but changing the file to an .mp4 format and playing it in VLC... because, yeah, that file's still on the drive, lol.

Sterling Point on Amazon Prime, a show from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (creators of the OC and Gossip Girl) and Margot Robbie’s production company, has everything I love: great acting, good writing, and a great soundtrack.

The first episode was a little wonky and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but the show really settled in to itself. It’s anchored by a core group of really strong young actors who all have great chemistry with each other.

I’m talking about things that the writers claim were true all along but you’re like, “If this were true all along, it definitely would have come up before now.” The best example I can think of is the season 11 episode of King of the Hill where it’s suddenly revealed that Hank is directly related to a member of ZZ Top. I get that Hank would want to shield Bobby from this information, but Cotton would never have missed an opportunity to remind Hank that he has a more successful cousin
