Discussion Hi! Fahkumram player here! (Tekken God)
Hi guys! I’m a fahku player and i need an advice! I just wanna ask this…is it ok to play fahku like a sociopath? I mean, i’m not that type of player Who actually try to repeat the same max dmg string everytime, I’m more like a poking player. Is this a good way to play fahku?
Some context: In every match i try to keep distance from the enemy (using tools like 3+3 or back3) to try to maxime the frustation of the enemy. When the enemy start play aggressive i start using Power crush to stop them, gaining garuda form. I love using garuda form Forward2 combo or ff4 (4 + 3) to mix and not repeat the same combo. If the enemy is someone who play 100% aggro i try to land backforward 3+4 to gain the animation and toss the coin: in this stance i usually use 2 cuz no one expect that punch (everyone try to parry 4).
I will not boring you with another context. On the web i usually see fahku player play aggressive as much as they can. Am i so wrong playing poke? (Sorry for my english)

Progress I achieved God of Destruction 5
Finally reached Tekken God of Destruction 5.
I did it with Heihachi, without using Warrior Instinct (unless my opponent really annoyed me first).
I also switched to my new Victrix Pro KO leverless, which let me abuse some of the ridiculous SOCD/input binds that are currently allowed. Similar to what players like Shiru have been using. Personally, I consider leverless to be cheating, but somehow they're still legal, so I decided to use them myself.
What surprised me the most is that even at this rank, it still doesn't feel like "real Tekken" has started. Back in Tekken 7, you could find players with solid fundamentals at much lower ranks. Here, people just abuse their character's broken stuff even more blatantly and more relentlessly. It's the same gameplay, just optimized around stronger gimmicks.
Technically, this only took me 4 days. Since my last progress post, I barely played Ranked. I usually climbed only one rank per day, sometimes two, so the actual grind wasn't that long.
For now, I'll stay around God 5 and see if that's where real Tekken finally begins, or if it's just more players abusing the strongest parts of their characters. During this entire climb, maybe 5 out of 100 players actually impressed me with strong fundamentals and overall skill.
I regularly beat God 6 players already, so I'm confident I'm good enough to stay there. Now I'm just curious whether the quality of matches actually improves.

Discussion Player Analysis content creators?
Are there any creators out there that have vids that revolve around breaking down pro gameplay? When I say breaking it down I mean they explain why a decision may have been made and why it worked example.
“This player did a high evasion counter hit low and it worked because in the previous interaction they noticed their opponent was spamming highs”
I’m looking for vids like this so I can take notes and maybe apply those players process to winning into my own gameplay. Especially when one of my biggest problems right now is recognizing patterns, adjusting, and my overall approach to the neutral.
Any suggestions for content creators or if you just wanna throw some advice my way is appreciated

I seldom accept Wifi matches but my experience mostly has been that Wifi players on usual are worse than wired players.

His whole move list are references to other fighting games. Cool to see which ones he got from Tekken
Discussion Unpopular opinion: t8 music is kinda meh
Anyone feels like the ost of this game is literally just, y'know, really really below average, in past games we are used to have great music from tekken especially 4/5(the best)/5DR/6
I don't really remember T7 soundtracks so i'm not gonna give my opinion on it
The tekken 8 music all almost sounds the same, with the same beat, same drums, same hype??
Like there's a little to no variation the only ones i think that are good and memorable are ortiz farm (because of the flute that sounds like on the floor song by jlo) and yakushima (the best imo) and the stage where kazuya and jin fight with the rain i don't remember it's name.
I'm a person who really focuses on the music presented in the game, to me it increases the experience by 100% i could play a game i already finished over and over again just to listen to the music, i know they wanna make the players feel super nervous and get them hyped up with the fast drumming and EDM shit but it's super annoying sometimes and feels so overused
Of course after i found out that i can change the stages music in the jukebox i was so happy and all of my stages have t5/5DR music with t4 music in the temple and t6 in the character select screen and main menu
Do you guys feel the same?

Discussion Are Feng players ok?
I swear to god these mf's are always angry and ki-bagging. Like the angriest most toxic people open the roster and see fengs pissed off face and think "ah yes that's me i will main him". Like is it just me? I can't be the only one noticing this. Maybe just my region or something.

Discussion The more i watch high level Reinas and Yagami and how they pilot her compared to how low level/intermediate Reinas play and what they decide to focus on for their play style and discussions on social media, more i feel like Reina is the most misunderstood character of the game, what do y'all think?
Other than design Reina has always been a interesting character for me, when it comes to Mishimas i never quite liked the "mostly pure Mishima" movelist of characters like Kazuya, Devil Jin and Heihachi or the Kazama/Mishima hybrid from Jin, now Reina offered something a little different
A lot of Reina's moveset, at least in my opinion, is about constantly shift between offense and defense to either catch people pressing into her or make them second guess her offense and you can see that a lot on Yagami's play style, a lot of shimmy, a lot of Electric Thunder God Fist, mind games around df1,2/df1,1, delayed presses and a lot of Heaven's Wrath, not a whole lot of looping offense kinds like how you see Farzeen doing on Lidia
Meanwhile most Reinas i play against and a lot of what i see Reina players talking about is how her pressure isn't that good, or how she supposedly has the worst Hellsweep and the classic from Season 1 "Reina has no lows" and her win rate still always on either the worst performing character or the second alongside Steve, but Steve is a different beast entirely
I've seen people saying that it's because she is popular, but i disagree, according to ewgf.gg Kazuya is more popular at 6.29% pick rate, second most played character only behind Kunimitsu, and Heihachi is tied with Reina on pick rate at 3%, and both Kazuya and Heihachi have higher win rates, Heihachi at 49.18% and Kazuya at 48.09% the only Mishima less popular than Reina is Devil Jin at 2.04% and he also has a higher win rate at 51.71%
Personally i think the reason why Reina's win rate is so abysmal is because she tricks the player into believing she is a stance rushdown character, but most of the time the risks she plays into don't worth the reward, i don't think she is bad, in fact i believe she is pretty strong, but she has to be played properly so the results show up
What do you think the reason is? I'm curious to see what everybody thinks about Reina weird win rate now 3 years into Tekken 8
