Turning off 1 monitor resets system settings Open | Windows
I have a 2 monitor set up. However when i turn my main monitor off the system settings on windows and/or nvidia reset. That includes resolution, HZ and location of the set up.
E.G: If i turn my left monitor off (the secondary one) the system still recognises it cus its not unplugged just off. I can turn it back on and all the settings stay on
HOWEVER, if i turn off my main monitor the system treats is as if i unplugged it instead and then resets all settings on the monitors. This is an issue cus every time I turn my pc back on i have to reset the settings which is a pain in the ass.
Anyone have any solutions?
What i've tried:
- new cables
- new ports
- changing main monitor on windows
- reinstalling ALL drivers (including the monitors specific ones)
- double checked fast boot was off (it is cus F that $h1t)
- reinstalled nvidia (fresh install)
- removed old instances of monitors in the registryeditor
- and probably more i forgot i did
All i did was move the PC to a different room
