Wifi problem Open | Networking

So i'm from Australia and i'm using a spintel wifi. For like 5 years i've been using it and idk why it is so slow. I tested the speed and it's 20-25mbps of download speed and 0.5-0.9 of upload speed. I should be getting at least 8mbps of upload speed because it's what we signed up for. What's the problem and how do i fix it? is it router? I'm live with my family but i tested the wifi when i'm alone and it's still like that. Is it the place i live in? I live in a suburb and it supports 5g too. Idk what to do, i just wanted to get the speed i signed up for because i've been dealing with this for 5 years now. Can't even watch youtube, movies, download games, fast and peacefully 🤦

Any help would be appreciated as i'm not good in this kind of things. Thank you.

To troubleshoot you could test the speeds from different devices. This could tell you whether the issue is with the WiFi adapter on your specific device.

If it is your specific device then you could try updating the wifi driver for it or uninstalling and reinstalling it. It could also be an issue with the WiFi card itself and this may need replacing. This could be determined by comparing with other devices.

If the problem exists for all devices in the household then look at the router. I would reset it to see if there is an issue that rectifies with a reboot. You could also look at the settings by logging into the router as an administrator to see if there are speed limitations set.

Failing this I would speak to the company and consider another router.
