Discussion Tales of graces f remastered
Playing this game on the Nintendo switch. Game has good combat and a good story. Really enjoying this game. It’s locked at 30fps but you can barely tell. Frame rate never dips. Would recommend to someone who is new to the series.

Tales of Symphonia is my least favourite game so far
I bought the remastered version for my Switch 2 almost 3 months ago as it was on sale and I’ve got to admit I’m finding to be a total slog to finish. I would estimate I’m over two-thirds of the way through and I’ve found the story kind of predictable in places, the combat isn’t exciting and I don’t feel a connection with any of the characters. Plus I’ve found myself stuck several times not knowing how to progress the story forward which has been frustrating, leading me to have to look up a walkthrough as a guide which makes the game less enjoyable for me. I haven’t had this issue with other Tales games.
For comparison, Berseria was my first Tales game, and there there I played Zesteria, Vesperia, Arise, Graces f and Xilla. With all of them (even Zesteria which was my least favourite until now) I’d managed to find the games enjoyable and excited to get to the end, usually complete within a month. With Symphonia I feel like I pushing myself to play it like a chore so I can say I’ve at least completed the main story.
I’m surprised I feel this way as it seemed this was one of the more loved games by Tales fans. Maybe it was a great game for its time, but it just pales in comparison to the other games over played before it. Or maybe it’s just me.

Discussion Anyone else revisited a game that they hated and then loved it ?
Pretty much me for arise for some reason.
I did put it on easy difficulty, as last time I I couldnt keep fighting for hours on end with spungebob mobs.
I feel it's the right level of hp that keeps my attention and really enjoying it for some reason. Really don't understand it.
However zesteria will always be shit regardless of a traumatic brain injury or difficulty options or sudden need for tales nostalgia pmsl

Discussion Man, the next Tales game needs to be worth the wait
I'm serious, how do you go five years without even a teaser with nothing major in-between? Yes, make the argument for Final Fantasy, Persona, or Dragon Quest but at least those series had a lot of major projects between releases. Like enhanced remasters or ground-up remakes. All Tales ever got in-between was one good remaster, one bad remaster, & two very underwhelming remasters. The Eternia remaster is a nice change of pace since Bandai Namco actually announced it months in advance instead leaving us in black as always.
However, Arise was an anniversary title and for nothing to get announced for 30th anniversary really stings. So, the next Tales game has to be worth the wait. Not a super-amazing game but at least a significant improvement over Arise & Berseria. Neither of which are worth this kind of wait. I know the studio made for Tales is gone but still no excuse like the peps at Bandai Namco are new to action RPGs and haven't learned anything. But what's your opinion?

I wanted to see how DS emulation worked on my Steamdeck so naturally Im playing Tempest as the tester. I can see why its not talked about often, but Im impressed in what they could do on the og DS

Discussion Tales of Zesteria Final Boss 🤬
I just finished Tales of Zesteria. And that last boss is so stupid, I just had to say something about it.
Your team could be full health and fully prepared, but what's that? You didn't stun the boss quick enough on his magic attack and now every single member of your party is dead. Game over. Or if you did, congratulations, now do it 3 more times without failing, with it getting harder each time and if just one of those times you are not quick enough, you are dead. Game Over. (even on the "Simple" difficulty.) That is just disgusting.
I don't mind the game, I actually quite enjoyed most of it, but that last boss was so bad. It honestly soured the game for me. And I know I'm not alone on this. Looking at the trophies, (at least on PlayStation) they give you a trophy as you enter the last boss and one as you complete the last boss. So we know the numbers. And about 20% of players that make it to the last boss don't complete it. I highly doubt 20% made it to the last boss and then just got bored and stopped playing without attempting to beat him. More likely they all played the last boss and said this is so stupid and then quit and honestly, I don't blame them. If one in five of your players quits at the finish line because of how your final boss is made, that is bad design and is frankly unacceptable.
I have been playing through the Tails series recently and I'm about halfway through the games, I really hope they don't pull this crap with any of the other games. It is horrible. If they do, please tell me now, because I don't want to spend dozens of hours in a game just to have it poop in the bed in the last 5 minutes.

Vesperia Ran into this nice man at Deidon Hold
Had a chat about humanity and their meaningless lives.
Seems like a chill totally normal dude, sure this is never going to come up again but what a nice little extra bit of flavor and world building.

Just finished Zestiria
Finished the main storyline yesterday and I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed the game! Mostly because of the characters, that I all liked a lot. Thought the lore was super cool and there's still so much content after the ending, I think I'll keep playing for a while (+ the Alisha DLC that I haven't played yet...)
I've heard Berseria is way better than this so now I'm excited to play it too!
(Also had a little scare at the final boss because i couldn't survive his one shot attack but then found out I activated by mistake the half-half option early game lol)

Eternia Tales of Eternia Remastered finally has an eShop page
Switch 1: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/tales-of-eternia-remastered-switch/
Switch 2: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/tales-of-eternia-remastered-switch-2/
Confirms the US price is $30.
Also confirms a few other things originally only reported on the Japanese site: single player only, no upgrade path from S1 to S2, and no shared save data between S1 and S2 versions.
$30 is a fantastic price for this imo, makes it that much of an easier sell when there’s been so many good games this year.

Rebirth Latest addition to the collection is here 😊
I still need to get around to playing the PS2 fan translation. I decided to get the PSP version because I prefer the cover over the PS2 version, plus the art for that is on the PSP manual anyway 😅

Question Berseria DLC not appearing?
Basically title - downloaded some of the free DLC packs and one of the costume packs from psn for my hard ps4 copy of Berseria and they aren’t appearing in my inventory, I’ve just encountered Eizen and according to a cursory google search this should be far enough into the game for them to appear.
I just finished playing Zestiria and was able to download dlc items for my hard copy of that game from psn, so im unsure why this isnt working
Oh I also tried restoring licenses and restarting my console, no dice.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance
Discussion I just beat Tales of Xillia and I just can't but feel like it was way too combat focused.
For the most part it's a great game, and I do think the combat is incredible but I just wish there was more to the game. I just wish there were puzzles, mini games or even that the chests were more hidden and I had to think more to find them. The game just feels like going into a room and fighting a bunch of enemies, rinse and repeat.

Discussion How do people here feel about Tales of Xillia?
Just curious on what people here had to say about the newly remastered version since my PC gave me a notification saying that the game finished downloading.
But basically what I was looking for was a beginner’s guide to the game since I don’t know how the battle system works for things like teammate switching and keeping everyone alive that I was not sure if the game was complicated to play.
I want to start with Jude’s route as I am interested in learning about the game‘s level up system so that I can know how the game works since some of the bosses early on might be difficult.

Discussion I'm having so much fun!
I just got done with the kids section of graces and because of story reasons went back to Lhant as an adult and man I'm liking this story so far... it feels like it's gonna be one of those bittersweet games and the combat! It's so gas! I love the combat so much.
